Iris turned and started walking in a large curve around the western edge of the territory, for a while her there would be less water but lots of grasses and shrubs. The plants where about angle hight at the shortest with the tallest being almost to her shoulders. Iris has even seen some species get almost as tall as her if there were the right conditions for a few days. It made it awfull to walk through but now it wasn't too bad, at least for her.

After walking for some time Iris turned and started the walk to camp. Now they were trecking through muddy swamps. She tried to stay away from water and deep mud but there were a few times where she had to lead the pack thorugh some shallow water.

Aleu heard a grump behind her, "Are we almost there?" She turned to glare at Freeze, her apprentice, "Show some respect!" Aleu sneered, "Sorry," Freeze whimpered, "My paws are tired." Aleu softened her gaze towards the young wolf, "It's okay," Aleu caught up to the brown wolf, "Ugh, how do you live in this mud!?" She smiled, trying to strike a friendly conversation, "What's your name, anyways?" Aleu was tired, but in this time of vulnerability she couldn't show it. Her tail swooshed back and forth, wagging. "Aleu!" She halted at her name, "Stop talking to that wolf, they're enemies to us!" It was Glacier, the Alpha. He was a fair leader, though he was strict about talking to enemy packs. Aleu grunted at the Alpha, but started falling back behind the brown wolf. Blizz trotted up behind her, with Eskimo by her side "Hey, Aleu!" Blizz looked thin and frail, though she was still an energetic wolf. "Oh, my paws are tired," Blizz yipped, "Aren't we all?" Aleu said to the young wolf. Eskimo nuzzled Blizz, "We should be done walking soon. I could catch something if you want!" Aleu looked at the two, obviously going to be mates soon.

Iris was about to answer the wolf's (Aleu?) question when the wolf she assumed to be the Alpha said no.

After walking for a few minutes longer they arrived at Mangrove pack camp. The camp was surrounded with a border at shrubs and cattails. The entrance was a small empty section with some tall plants curving towards each other creating a arch.

Many of the wolves in the pack were back from the morning patrols, the prey pile at the far left side of the camp was stocked full and many of the wolves were eating, talking, or relaxing in the sun. The main camp area was in the shape of a oval with a sparse covering of grass. around the edges where the dens, most of them being large hollow logs, or small caves made of rocks.

Aleu sniffed the air as she stepped into the camp. So this is what Mangrove Pack's camp looks like. She thought. "I could really go for a mink right now," Aleu woofed to Blizz "I don't think they have those here though." Aleu heard a yelp of pain behind her, Icicle! Aleu rushed to her friend's side, "I'm...so tired. So is Glacier, could you...talk to the Alpha of Mangrove Pack for us?" Icicle asked, "Yes, of course." Aleu dipped her head, "Is there anyplace my pack can rest?" Aleu asked to the brown wolf, "My name is Aleu, by the way."

"You'd have to ask Boa about that," Iris said " but there's probably some empty dens."

"I'm guessing you would like to see the Alpha then?" She asked, but before Aleu could respond she spotted the Alpha walking towards them. Her cream pelt with the contrasting brown spots was sleek. Her eyes were slightly narrowed with suspicion. "What is Northern Pack doing in my camp?"

Aleu jerked backwards, "Sorry, there was an avalanche that destroyed our territory! We needed to find refuge with someone, could you take us in? Just while we get back on our feet." Aleu looked to her skinny packmates, and Icicle who was resting on her shoulder. Alpha Glacier was a little bit away, resting on the ground. "Please..." Icicle rasped, "Please help us." Alpha Glacier said as he walked up to Aleu, he collapsed to the ground. "Please, my packmates can't walk, they're so tired." Aleu pleaded to Alpha Boa, or at least that was what Aleu thought the Mangrove Pack alpha was called.

They must have been wandering for weeks. If not months. Iris thought this must have been their last resort.

Iris noticed Alpha Boa looking over the other pack. She was quiet for a moment. " I will let your pack stay with us if the healthy wolves in your pack pull their weight around the camp." Boa said her voice was calm and she sounded a bit regal in how she spoke.
Iris was surprised their wasn't a catch. Usually Boa wanted something in return for her help. Maybe she saw how bad of shape the Northern pack was, or it would come later when the pack was further in her debt.

Aleu nodded to Boa, "Thank you, we will do our best to help with the pack." She walked over to the rest of the pack, and forgot to turn around and ask Boa where Northern Pack's unhealthy wolves could rest and get their strength back. "Where could we rest?" Aleu asked as she padded back to Boa and the brown wolf. "You still haven't told me your name." Aleu woofed to the brown wolf. "What is it?" She asked, looking around at the trees above the camp. They were nice. Beautiful, even. The rushing water in the swamp calmed Aleu, it rippled as leaves fell to the ground. Aleu could get used to this place, even if it seemed like a foreign land.

"Im Iris," Iris responded to the white and grey wolf. As Boa had left just a moment after Aleu had returned she supposed it was her job to figure out were to house Northern pack.
"About were you can rest... I think theres some empty dens near the right side of camp. They might be big enough for everyone." She said.

Aleu dipped her head to Iris, "Thank you," She turned around and walked over to the rest of the pack. Aleu signaled with her tail for the rest of the pack to follow her over to the dens. She walked over to the dens, Glacier and Icicle by her side. Aleu walked into the den and Icicle and Glacier laid down in the den. "Thank you for talking to the alpha." Glacier said as he curled up in the den beside Glacier. Eskimo crept in the den, followed by Blizz, and half of Northern pack. The rest of the pack settled in the other den. Aleu curled up in a nest and fell asleep.
