+ Josselyn - 1st Person + When Hélios brought up cooking tonight my mind panicked for a second. I could see him staring directly at me "Well pork roast takes an entire day to cook, but I can make steak if you are okay with that for tonight instead?" I asked Nervously. I waited for his response but decided to add on a little. "I can still cook a pork roast for you tomorrow as well, but only if you want me to do so," I said "Just let me know if you would prefer me to eat with you, understand if not," I said ***************************** (Once he responds) "Also," I said looking up at him finally but regretting doing so, as it caused me to tense up. "In the window room, I have quite a few plants in there. If you want I can move them outside," I said Suddenly thunder could be heard and I felt my body relax once again, the rain pounded on the windows around us. Hélios couldn't help but watch her. He was observant. He nodded in understanding. Although, Hélios didn't know much about cooking. He grew up pretty well off, where he didn't need to know how to cook. The cooking was done for him by the cooks. Then again cooking wasn't common for men. It was a womans job, apparently. "That should be fine." He shrugged his shoulders. It wasn't a big deal. He didn't take his eyes off her. Analyzing her every move and words. She seems afraid to say the wrong thing. Hélios didn't have a bad reputation. Well sort of. He was know to get in altercations...sometimes. As well as being known for being authoritative. Well, guess in that case maybe he could come off a little scary, to those who didn't know him personally. He sighed, taking a few steps towards her. He stood in front of her. He sat back on the arm of a couch that was placed in the hallway. It was to make him look a little less intimidating. This way he would be almost eye level with her. It was better than her having to crane her neck up to look at him. The man was a giant. "Josselyn." Her name rolled off his tongue. "Were husband and wife. Meaning whats mine is yours. You can do whatever the hell you want." He shrugged his shoulders. Like what he stated was obvious. He meant it though, she could do whatever she wanted. He leaned closer to her, looking her over from head to toe. His amber eyes narrowed slightly, "Are you afraid of me?" He questioned. Genuinely curious.

+ Josselyn - 1st Person + I froze when he said he basically didn't care what I do, I guess it caught me off guard. Sure, I was relieved that he didn't mind but I didn't know what to do with my freedom. It was almost comforting and it allowed me to relax a bit. When he sat down I was slightly confused, but realized I didn't have to crane my neck at him anymore. I got a bit flustered when he got so close, my face turning red. "w-well," I stuttered then let out a sigh "You remember how I was pretty much a run around with the boys and cause havoc kind of girl when we were little?" I asked "Well my father didn't like that. let's just say after my motherhood my childhood was ruined and I was basically broken. So yes, I am technically scared of you because of trauma." I said finding it hard to look at him "Any sudden movement makes me jumpy, and one of the few things that calms me is heavy rain and thunder. All because it blocks out other noises like yelling." I said explaining it further. My face fell again, I found it hard to look at him.

Hélios waited for her to finish her thoughts. Even then he still remained quiet after she finished speaking. He just looked at her for a moment. He sighed for a moment, "If I'm being honest I don't remember you." He admitted. His scowl deepened at the second part of what she said. It made him wonder what she meant by that. What the hell did her father do to her? "I'm not your father, Josselyn." His voice was firm. "You don't need to be afraid of me." He lowered his voice. He sighed, well this wasn't going how he thought it would. "What do you mean by that? This trauma. What did he do to you?" He questioned. It was a loaded question. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to answer, but he couldn't help the curiosity.

+ Josselyn - 1st Person + I was amazed or more surprised. "I guess we were young, my father brought up the marriage proposal because he remembered seeing me around you only a couple of times," I said "So we only met a couple of times, you probably see so many people that it gets hard to remember faces that aren't important," I added. "Either way, if I did anything wrong he would hit me, I would be slapped, even whipped a couple of times," I said and then decided I may as well say it now, "I have permanent scars on my back from the whip," I added with a nervous laugh, "I should probably go let the cooks know now and I should probably start cooking as well. I don't want to be serving food in the middle of the night." I said with a slight smile and I started to walk off.

Hélios nodded in understanding as she spoke. He frowned. Important? Why would she say it like that? His childhood was a blur. Of course, he had a good childhood. Loving parents. Money wasn't an issue. Hélios could feel the anger rising the more she spoke about her father. What the hell! What a horrible father. He couldn't even he called a father. She said it so nonchalant like it did't matter anymore. He wasn't going to let this slide. She was walking away before he could mutter out another word. He watched her walk off. His jaw was clenched tightly. He stood up and walked to his bedroom. His bath was ready. He stripped his clothing and stepped in. It felt good to finally relax, but he couldn't help thinking back to what Josselyn had said to him. He wanted to do something about it. He let his eyes flutter close, as he tried his best to relax.

+ Josselyn - 1st Person + I quickly got changed into a cheaper gown that could get dirty. I walked down to the kitchen, letting the cook know and they seemed relieved wondering what I needed. I told them I needed steak for Hélios and me since I would be making dinner. The proportions were definitely different, but it wouldn't change anything. I started the fire so it would get to a nice size, I was going to smoke the steak instead of doing your usual cooking it in a pan. I got the seasoning and started to rub it into the raw steak, blood was getting on my hands but I didn't mind. I wrapped the seasoned steak up and put it over the fire and into the smoke. It would take a little while, but it would be worth it. While the steaks were smoking I quickly went to water my plants and returned to make sure the fire was okay. I started preparing potatoes to eat with the steaks as well as a little bit of salad. I set it all up on the table before I went to get Hélios. "Hélios?" I said knocking on the door to the main bedroom. I waited for a response that allowed me to come in. "Dinner is ready," I said "Also if you want me to move into the main bedroom I can, I didn't know if that was what you wanted or not so I just slept in one of the spare bedrooms untill you got back," I explained

At some point the negative thoughts finally erased from his mind. Sort of. Well he was exhausted from his trip back home. His long arms were sprawled out on the edge of the tub, his head leaned back. Suddenly, he awoke. The water splashed, as he abruptly stood up. Quickly throwing on a pair of bottoms, he walked over to the door. He didn't bother putting on a top, as he wasn't completely dry so he didn't want to wet his shirt. Opening the door, he looked down at Josselyn. "I'll be right down." He said quickly. "We can talk about it later." He muttered. His eyes lingered on the gown she was wearing. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Let me get dressed and I'll meet you down there alright?" His voice was slightly husky with sleep. He had fallen asleep at some point in his bath.

+ Josselyn - 1st person + When he opened the door I looked up and my face immediately turned red. "A-alright," I said with a stutter, looking away slightly with my hand covering my mouth before I walked towards the dining room. I sat down on the chair across from the chair I put Hélios's food. I waited for him to come and luckily the food was still warm because I was trying not to burn my hands. "I made smoked steak with baked potatoes and a small salad since I didn't know what type of side you would like," I explained as he sat down. I waited for him to eat first as it was what I was taught to do. Edited at July 28, 2023 03:49 AM by Frostyhills24

Hélios dressed himself quickly. He wore something comfortable and breathable. Making his way down to the large dinning room, he sat down across his wife. He rubbed his hand together, ready to dig in to the food. It looked good. "Fine by me. Thank you, Josselyn." Grabbing his silverware, he was about to take a bite. His eyes landed on Josselyn. Why wasn't she eating? He frowned. "Whats wrong? Why aren't you eating?" He questioned, looking down at her untouched plate. His mouth watered at the thought of a homecooked meal. It had been awhile since he's eaten something like this. Finally, he took a bite, but kept his eyes on his wife. He closed his eyes for a moment savoring the steak. It was cooked perfectly. "Mhmm." He mumbled chewing the steak. "This is amazing." He said, cutting up another slice to eat.
