Maximus Maximus stared through the bars of the cage, his brown eyes no longer holding the light and happiness as it used to. He stood as a couple walked in front of his cage whispering softly to him as they were told his back story, something about them made him relax enough for him to sniff the man's hand without biting. He had the scent of a dog on him, a happy dog to be precise, his tail gave a soft wag and he put his paws against the cage he would give these humans a chance. But trust would have to be earned
Jason (Human) Jason’s heartbroke for every dog he passed, he and his wife (sorry i'm just guessing) had decided to get another dog for Rosemarie to be friends with. A flicker of pointy ears caught his eye and he led the way toward the cage listening as the worker explained the past of the huge german shepherd before him, “he was abandoned by many humans” the worker explained, Jason shook his head at the sad news and put his hand between the bars hoping the dog would be friendly enough to say hello. “Oh sir i wouldn't see he is very aggressive and has given up on the hopes of having a family all i know is he was abused and used for dog fights and due to his scar on his eye we call him scar for short” The worker said quickly only to stutter as Max sniffed jason hand and wagged his tail jumping on the fence. “Seems friendly enough to me” JAson chuckled letting Max see his hand as he went to pet his neck. “What do you think dear? is he coming home with us?” he asked, turning to his wife.

Rosemarie The she dog walked through a doggy door that was attached to the back yard, she took in the familiar scent of the outside world, as she stepped out onto the hard surface of the concrete patio. She soon stepped out onto lush green grass, that parted slightly under the pressure of her paws. She looked to her surroundings, a large oak three in the corner, a hose neatly circling laying flat on the soft ground, and various agility training equipment. The sound of birds chirping, car engines running, barks from other dogs, and the chatting of humans filled her ears. Elliot She nodded listening to what the adoption worker was telling them about the dog in front of them. She soon looked from the worker, to the German Shepard who seemed to be quite happy. She smiled at what her husband had said, Elliot nodded, she agreed the dog didn’t seem aggressive. She let the dog sniff her outstretched hand. She turned to her husband as he asked her a question. "I don’t see why not." She replied, she soon looked to the worker. ”Sir, what is his name?" Elliot asked. Edited at March 1, 2022 03:15 PM by Mist Fall Wolves

Jason (Human)
Jason turned his head toward the worker once again as they began to talk “The last handler he had said the old shelter had called him Maximus so we are guessing that's what he has grown up with” the worker explained carefully watching Max for any signs of aggression. After signing the paperwork Jason sat with Elliot waiting for the workers to bring Max once the door opened Jason lowering himself to the floor to not seem as a threat to the abused german shepherd.
Maximus Maximus nervously walked through the door seeing the man crouching; he instantly felt at home waiting for the worker to put his muzzle on and take the leash as he wagged his tail sniffing his potential family once he was free. He rolled over letting them give him belly rubs as he whimpered happily.
Jason Jason helped the leash firmly as he led Max to the car, lifting him up and setting him down in the backseat giving his head a small rub before closing the door and getting in the front seat “ready?” he asked Elliot

Elliot "Yep." She replied looking to Jason, she then looked to Maximus. "I hope he and Rosemarie get along." She said, her attention turning to the road in front of him. She knew this dog would be a good addition, but the only problem could be if he and Rosemarie didn’t get along. She didn’t fancy having to break up a dog fight with one of the two injured. Rosemarie She shook her soft fur, she had been outside for what 1hr now? She soaked in the sun that had settled over the horizon, Orange, yellows, and reds all mixing together in various, yet beautiful patterns. She padded onto the concrete patio, before making her way through the doggie door and to her water bowl. She lowered her head and lapped out of the bowl. Luckily she didn’t make a mess with water as saint Bernard’s, hounds do. She wondered when her people would get back, she was used to her people leaving at some time in the day, but never had she not wondered when they’d return or didn’t want them to return. She couldn’t remember ever being without the woman or man, as she was to young to remember the 8 weeks she was with a different family. She made her way over to the door, and laid beside a wall. She didn’t fall asleep, but kept her head to the wooden pale colored floor.

(is it ok if Jason puts rosemarie somewhere and Max explores the house before the humans let them meet?)

Jason “We will keep his muzzle on for a few days until he settles in” Jason sighed and with that they drove home.
Maximus He growled at the scent of his humans other dog getting ready for a fight. Confusion settled in as the man left without him grabbed another leash he had not seen before, the man came back without a leash but the scent of dog was fresh on him as he came and opened the door making sure his muzzle was on firmly. The man led him into the house unlocking the leash from Max son as he was free Max put his nose to the ground exploring the house before coming back to the humans wagging his tail as he was directed to sit.
Jason Jason watched happily as Max explored his new home before whistling for the german shepherd to come back he gently pushed the german shepherds butt saying the command sit as he put the leash back on gripping it tightly. “Elliot go grab Rosemarie Max has his muzzle on and I got him. Let's take this slow see how max reacts to another dog before we do anything else” Jason sighed making sure to hold the leash and collar
