Rosencrantz was about to tell them to stop, because he smelled a deer nearby, and even though she was watching, he wanted that prey. When she darted away, he growled and snapped his head around, like a snake, and snatched a tuff of hair off of her side, as she passed by him. Where was she going? He had to work hard to keep his face from being surprised, as she ran off. He replaced it with a snarl, as his packmates ran after her, either making sure she was chased away or retrieving her. He stretched out his legs, enjoying the pursuit of prey, as they howled as one pack.

He was annoyed that they were going to miss this decent prey, because she ran off to do who knows what. They all halted as one, when they realized that she had killed prey in record time. It would never happen by a single wolf. It couldn't be possible. It was the deer that he had smelled. How had she found it so quickly? How had she not scared it off before she caught it? How had she been so fast? Should he ask those questions, or was he giving away a weakness? What kind of wolf was she really? "What kind of monster are you?" Rosencrantz growled, as he trotted to catch up with his wolves.

The other wolves snarled at her, but noticed their alpha wasn't attacking her yet for this offense. "You do not have permission to hunt on our land, and you will be branded before you leave here. Everyone will know that you can't obey the law of the land. We will not allow any wolf to hunt here. You are no exception, because you didn't respect our rules. You will not be trusted by any pack if you leave, because of the brand, so you will wander, a vagrant. However, because of your...skill," he looked a bit haughty hesitant to call it that, "I will give you one opportunity to join this pack. You will have to prove our trust in you, and it'll be hardwork."

His packmates began to surround her, so that she wouldn't be escaping without the promised brand. Rosencrantz's mouth began to salivate, as he was excited to have a full belly that night no matter what her decision was. There was no way, she could draw a whole deer along with her, if she tried to run. There was no way she could eat the whole deer, before they caught her. "You will not escape us," now that they were prepared for her to bolt.

As she brought down the doe she heard the pack close behind howling as one as they chased their new prey, her. Still in her defensive stance she stared at each wolf that appeared and snarled at her. Her lips curled back to show her fangs, more to show that she was ready to defend herself if they attacked. Her ears swivled forward as she heard teh alpha speak. “What kind of monster are you?” A small growl slipped from her throat as she was called a monster.

“I am the kind of monster that had to survive on her own even before she had a pack of her own, and once again had to survive on my own after losing my pack. Hunting big prey alone I found a few tricks on how to bring them down easily by myself.” She said right after the growl emitted hoping no one had heard trying not to show that she took offense to being called a monster.

She watched the pack surround her and knew she had consequences for hunting on their land. She relaxed a little but only a little as she saw the alpha wasn’t giving any orders to attack her. She listened as the alpha told her she would be branded for disobeying their rules. Her chest puffed out slightly in pride at the alphas notice of her skill at catching the doe. She also listened as he gave a choice. “However, because of your… skill I will give you one opportunity to join this pack. You will have to prove our trust in you, and it’ll be hardwork.”

She took a seat finally noticing she was missing a patch of fur ‘hmm must’ve been when I darted off to catch the doe.’ she thought to herself. She looked relaxed even though underneath she was ready for any attack on her life. She pondered his words a moment even though it didn’t take long. She had went to catch the doe just for this reason. She wanted to show she could be useful to the pack in hopes of them accepting her.

“I will take your opportunity to join your pack. I have no doubt that it will be hardwork to earn your trust especially since I broke the rules of your territory in the first place.” She told him as she tilted her head to the side slightly exposing her neck as she laid on her belly to show her respect that he was alpha and she would obey. Her ears laid back submissing to the alpha, although her eyes were fixated on the alpha to make sure he didn’t suddenly give the order to attack her while she was doing this.

Gore warning

"You are an unnatural monster. Nothing should work like you do," he hissed, furious that she tried to justify her actions. However, if he could harness the monster, that would be very potent indeed. "The stamina of a wolf is our greatest strength against our prey. There is no way you should have been able to keep up," he wondered if she had meddled in dark magic. He could have bitten her nose off for daring to growl at him. As much as he seemed to hate her and called her a monster, he didn't appear to be afraid of her at all. His fur was raised and his eyes were blazing, yet there was no sign that he would back off.

Frankly, he stepped back slightly at her reply. She continued to want to work in such rough conditions? "Very well then," his tone was still harsh, but not as sneering. He was pleased with her surrender, and decided that there might be a place for her here after all. He had the wolves surround her, and he swiftly marked her before she could doubt her decision. Blood oozed in his teeth from his muzzle and stained her fur. "Let's bring this prey home to the pack," he picked it up in his strong jaws, and the others crowded around to assist him. Seether was wandering around, and the others were scratching their ears or doing other relaxed activities.

"We have a new pack member. We shall see how she fares among us." The pack lined up to eat, unwilling to risk something interrupting their meal time. "Those who didn't go hunting shall wait until those who have hunted before eating, and then our guest shall wait until last." He didn't acknowledge that she was the one who had caught their dinner. Soon everyone had fallen into line to eat. Anyone who tried to cut was snipped at until they submitted to their place. He began to lay around and watch as Celine tried to adjust. Most of the wolves seemed to avoid her, and clique into their own groups. He had no desire to help the she-wolf fit in. She could find her own way, if she was as strong and mighty as she claimed.

He could see Widow's questioning face. Why was this newcomer here? Why would she be rewarded in this way? A scar that didn't hinder her was not a very harsh punishment for the way that she grossly flaunted her lack of following the rules. Why would they want to have to depend on a vagabond? "Peace Widow. We shall see how it goes." They could always toss her out by the ear later. For today, they ate decently for the first in a long time.

Seether was the only one who approached Celine making sure that her wound wouldn't get infected. He grimaced as he licked at the blood. "Your fur is so nasty. I'm sure you're going to come down with something fatal." He normally tried to be more cheerful, but he hadn't been able to find any powerful herbs. His pack could be in trouble, if he couldn't heal them or aid in their healing, if they became injured.

Celine grit her teeth and held back another growl forming in her chest. Her tail flickered the only sign of showing her irritation of being called a monster, but it soon grew on her. She started to take it as a praise rather than an insult. She could see the wheels turning in his head and knew she knew she had impressed him with making the kill whether he was gonna admit it or not. Her eyes stared back into his seeing how they blazed.

Very well then.” She heard him say in his harsh tone, and saw how pleased he was with her surrender. Her fur bristled and she stood defensively again as an automatic reaction. She gave a grunted growl as Rosencratz bit and marked her feeling her blood ooze in his teeth and muzzle, staining her fur. Once he let go she shook out her fur standing more or less relaxed. “Let’s bring this prey home to the pack.” She watched as he picked up the doe in his strong jaws and others assist him.

She followed Rosencratz and the others back to the pack, she tried to help but backed off when the others Widow especially wasn’t fond of it. Once back at the camp she saw a wolf wandering around and the other wolves gather around and heard Rosencratz give the instructions of who should eat when. She watched as the others lined up not really caring that there was a new member, just wanting some of the food that was brought back. She looked to Widow seeing the questioning look, she herself knew that the punishment she got wasn’t ideal especially for what she did.

She looked away from Widow when she saw a wolf approaching her, she bristled ever so slightly noticing it was the wolf she saw when first arriving wandering around. She relaxed a little watching as he tried to clean her wound and licked the blood not wanting it to get infected. She huffed when he commented about how nasty her fur was. She wasn’t sure how to respond and didn’t want to bite his head off for trying to help her. “Thank you.” was all she said knowing he was mostly doing this because it was his role in the pack.

She watched as the others fniished eating their fill and soon it was the healers and her turn. “If you would like to go eat I will clean more of my fur so it’s easier for you to tend to the wounds.” She looked to Seether who was still licking her wounds. Her stomach grumbled she didn’t realize how hungry she had been until after killing the doe. She knew there would be little to nothing left but that didn’t bother her much.

Rosencrantz stared at her seeing that she was becoming used to this insult. Her posture became less aggressive instead of remaining the same. If that was the case, she was becoming weaponized. Now it was hard to see who she would be for and against, but he had a hunch that with a little bit of manipulation, she would be under his control. He was certain that he would easily beat this wolf, even if she was beginning to stand in a slightly tense position. Against prudence he knocked her over and did the deed without waiting to see if she would surrender.

His lip curled as he drew near to her dirty fur. Perhaps he should have gotten someone else to do it, so he didn't have to contaminate himself. He stared at her for a moment surprised how quickly the procedure had been completed. He was very aware of her filth in such close contact, and he couldn't contain himself. "What do you do? Roll in a bag of fleas?" he snarled as he leaped back from her after marking her. Now they practiced working as a team transporting the deer home. There was lots of grumbling among them and common complaints like someone had stepped on a tail or gotten their whiskers wet.

Widow kept a baleful eye on Celine and was relieved that she kept her distance. Eventually, Rosencrantz was feeling finished with the whole dragging process and had Celine join in his place. Someone that could be trusted should be keeping a lookout. They had already had one intruder today. It seemed unlikely they would have another. Once they were safely at the camp Rosencrantz allowed himself to relax his muscles, but never his attention. He dealt with things before heading off to the side to rest.

Seether nodded accepting her thanks, "Really though. This wound wouldn't have to be dangerous at all, if I had stronger herbs and your fur wasn't so dirty. Try to keep it clean will ya? Mine won't be ready until I can gather more." He was trying to show that he hadn't meant it unkindly, but he was one of the few in his pack who really believed in hygiene. It was frustrating that no one took him seriously. Seether's ears perked up. "Really? You mean it?" It'd be great to eat before it was gone. Against his better judgement, he began to lecture her on proper cleaning before he darted off.

When he returned, she had gone to eat herself, and he waited to check her work. He was surprised to see Jay ambling up to them. "Hello. My name is Jay," he introduced himself to Celine. His tail wagged slowly twice, not displaying a lot of enthusiam, but it was clear that he was being friendly. Seether huffed, but Jay didn't react at all. "You shouldn't be distracting my patient. We're almost done here, and you could make this last another three days at least!" Jay's teeth became apparant as he was amused. "Very well. Come find me, if you feel like talking to someone." He didn't specify, but his gaze lingered longer on Celine rather than Seether. Over on the otherwise of the clearing Beau was performing playful antics to amuse Silver. Jay went to go watch for a while, even though he knew he wouldn't be welcome there.

Celine watched Rosencrantz stare her down but never bat an eye just let him believe what he was believing. She knew he would try to manipulate her and in order to gain their trust she would comply to his manipulations. She gave a grunt as she was knocked to the ground, even though every instinct told her to fight him off she didn’t. She didn’t so much as wince as he did the deed.

She rolled to her feet once the deed was done and her lip curled back as he insulted her but she didn’t say a word. “A dirty pelt is best line of defense. Most of the time makes others rethink the thought of fighting with her for risk of infection to themselves.” She thought to herself. Her ears swiveled as she listememd to the grumbles from the other members but payed them no heed.

Celine picked up in the dragging process where Rosencrantz left off. She helped the others drag the kill back to the camp. She stopped dragging once the others did and went off to the sdie. She began cleaning her fur as Seether came up and began licking her wounds and like Rosencrantz criticized how dirty her fur was. She looked to Seether and told him to go have his fill before he lost his place in line and there was nothing left. “I will keep it clean and thank you for looking after my wounds. Don’t worry about using any herbs up on me anyone else in the pack deserves them before I do if they end up with injuries. These wounds aren’t really that bad.” Once he had walked off to eat she began to clean her wounds again.

She thoroughly cleaned her wounds and the fur surrounding them, a few of them still bleeding, she gently lapped up the blood and then licked her own blood from her muzzle. Once she had finished cleaning the wounds and areas around the wounds she began to clean more of her fur. She actually hated being this dirty, it just seemed helpful when she was by herself in the forest. Every now and then she would relick some of the still bleeding wounds and would glance up to check the process of the wolves eating.

Once she saw everyone else in the pack had gotten their turn in eating she stood and limped a couple times a little stiff from the fighting before smoothly making her way to what was left of the meal, which wasn’t much. She didn’t mind and accepted her spot in the pack. She quickly ate the little bit that was left and licked the remaining blood from her muzzle, looking over the pack and its members. She then made her way back over to Seether, noticing another wolf making their way over to converse. “Hello. My name is Jay.” She gave a nod to the wolf calling himself Jay. “Hello Jay. My name is Celine.” She replied, her ears swiveled and her gaze looked to Seether as he interjected.

She tilted her head to the side in confusion, “You shouldn’t be distracting my patient. We’re almost done here, and you could make this last another three days at least!” She looked back to the other wolf who seemed to be amused. She nodded as Jay wandered off, her gaze turned back to Seether. “Sorry for my bluntness, but you don’t seem to fond of Jay. May I ask why?” She asked as she sat down again and licked at her wounds once more cleaning the new blood from her fur and then sat there for Seether to inspect her handiwork.

Seether shook his head. "Perhaps I might have risked it if you had cleaner fur, but I promise you'll feel really stupid if you die from an infection in this wound. Such a dumb way to go," he muttered to himself. He wasn't going to lose a wolf that way if he could help it. "I'll be back after you've cleaned it." He tried to tell himself that was why he was going to go eat. He was just giving her time to clean it off, so they weren't wasting time. He returned before it was her turn to eat. When it was her turn to go, he notified her, and started looking for the herbs he would need to put into her wound.

He turned back around waiting for her to return. He was about to get started, when Jay came over. Once he had chased him off, he inspected her fur. "Very good. Thank you." He was relieved he didn't have to have all that grit and dirt on his own tongue, and she had done it herself. He gave a start, as she asked him why he didn't like Jay. Instead of responding, he promptly went to work. It didn't take long with his amount of practice. He wadded some chewed up herbs into the wound.

"Not like Jay!" his voice sounded rather shocked. He had given himself some time to think up an answer, once he got over the shock of the impertinent question. "That's not it. I just don't want anyone over here, when I'm working on a patient. It complicates things." He didn't feel like on expanding how it did or why. However, distracted patients were sometimes harder to deal with, and if someone else got to close they could mess up his den area.

"He's fine, even though he can be a little mopey at times. "There that'll do it." He made one emphatic nod. "The herbs should work even though they aren't as fresh as they could be, so they won't be as strong. Tell me if you have any fevers, or if the area around there gets hot. You may go," he nodded indicating the direction he wanted her to go. He waited politely for a moment to make sure she was gone before he turned his back on her and began to clean up the area after his work.

Jay turned around for a moment checking on the new wolf. When he saw she was done, he made eye contact and wagged his tail, subtly inviting her to come over. He wasn't sure if she would, because he was pretty sure that Silver and Beau would move somewhere else. They didn't think they needed a new addition to the pack. They didn't want an outsider. If everyone was this unhappy, Jay didn't understand why Rosencrantz had decided it was a good idea. He was on the outside of the group, while Silver and Beau ignored him, so he didn't really mind if they moved on.

Rosencrantz was laying near his beta Widow. He was silently watching the pack, learning more about them. He was surprised to see Jay try to be welcoming. It sort of didn't surprise him out of all of the wolves. He figured that someone would have to be more friendly than others. Seether was busy at work, being such a good duitiful healer. He laid his head on his paws pretending to sleep, but keeping his ears wide open.

Widow watched her alpha for a moment, before turning her head back toward the pack. She got up to go speak to Celine. "We have night watches, so don't go too far from the camp. The creek we drink from is over there," she indicated the direction. "You don't have to begin the rotation until tomorrow." She stared at Celine for a moment, trying to decide where to put her to sleep. If the reaction the pack was giving her was any indication, nobody would want to sleep with her. "I suppose I'll let you find your own place to sleep." It was probably better to let it happen naturally on her own. If push came to shove, she'd let Celine sleep with her, even though she would be very unhappy about it.

Celine nodded noticing how relieved he was that he didn't have to clean her wound and fur, in all honesty she was glad he didn't have to as well. She wasn't fond of strangers grooming her even if they were healers. Not only that she didn't want anyone else to have to taste just how dirty she had let herself get. Her head tilted ever so slightly noticing how her question had shocked him, she didn't pry the issue when he didn't reply to her question right away, instead she watched Seether work on her wound. She watched as he wadded some chewed up herbs into her wound. The tip of her tail flickered slightly as he did so and winced almost unnoticebly at the discomfort it caused. Her ears pricked forward and she turned her attention to his face as he answered her question. "That's not it. I just don't want anyone over here, when I'm working on a patient. It complicates things." She got the feeling he didn't want to elaborate on the subject and she simply nodded.

He had finished up with patching up her wound and nodded as he told her to tell him if she got any fevers or the area around it got hot. She stood up, "Thank you." She told him as she turned and headed in the direction he wished her to go, her ears flickering as she heard him begin to clean up. She looked around a moment and noticed Jay. She saw how he made eye contact and gave a slight wag of his tail. She gave a small smile and began to head in his direction.

She glanced around at the rest of the pack knowing it would take a while for the majority to warm up or even trust her. She knew that most members of a pack didn't like a newcomer being allowed to join in a pack. She noticed Widow and Rosencratz laying together, she also noticed Rosencrantz pretend to sleep. She looked to the ground again as she made her way towards Jay.

Her thoughts began to wander, she was happy to be in a pack again but at the same time didn't like being such an outcast here. She felt no different than when she was alone in the woods. She gave a huff at her thoughts, and reminded herself she knew what she was getting into when she made the first move to join the pack. She raised her head high again looking to Jay.

She stopped when she heard footsteps and knew by the scent it was Widow. She turned and looked to the beta nothing but respect of her higher rank showing in her eyes as she listened to Widow explain about the night watches and where the creek was. She nodded looking in the direction Widow pointed out, her ears flickering and looking back to Widow as she spoke again. "I suppose I'll let you find your own place to sleep." She nodded again and bowed her head saying. "Thank you, I am sure I will find someplace to sleep." She knew that out of all of them Widow liked her the least.

She waited until Widow was done explaining everything before she bowed once more and turned heading back over towards Jay. "Hello again Jay" She smiled her tail giving a friendly wag before she sat down in front of him. "How are you doing today." She was a little surprised to have someone try to be friendly so soon of her being in the pack but at the same time not so surprised. She had hoped at least a few would be a little friendlier than others.

Jay's tongue was lolling out, and his ears were perked towards her. His tail wagged slightly, as she headed over toward him. "I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. Did you have enough to eat? We're lucky to have had such a good meal. It's been a long time since I didn't feel the need to eat more. I heard you contributed. It's been a while since my pack has found anything. Seems that a really talented hunter has joined us. How has your day been?"

He smirked as everyone was giving them looks. "I see that the pack hasn't been the warmest group. Their trust takes a long time to gain. They don't really care about your personality too much, as long as you cooperate together well, and you are a capable wolf. I'm sure they'll at least become lukewarm fairly quickly. They might be testing your commitment," he shrugged, also realizing they were testing her honesty and trustworthiness. "They want to be able to depend on you. It's very important. How did you get here? Why were you packless?"

He knew they were big questions to start with, and they didn't know each other, but she looked like someone who had good stories to tell, and he wanted to try to get her to open up right away. "Why do you want to be in our pack? I like it here. I've been able to get to know everyone. We all know each other very well, so we work well together. While Rosencrantz might seem hard to get along with at first, he has a fairly simple predictable rhythm. If you don't mess up his flow, he doesn't really care what we do too often."

"Where has been your favorite place to live? How far have you travelled? Any chance I would know the place you are from? This wasn't my original pack, but I've been here for most of my life. I was a young juvenile, and my pack was clearing out the young ones. I managed to find here, and they were willing to let me join after I proved myself. This pack is pretty cool, because we have a healer. I didn't know about them until I joined. We didn't have one in my birth pack. Honstly, Seether has more power than Rosencrantz, because we depend on him so much."

Rosencrantz finally decided he was finished trying to pretend that he was asleep or trying to go to sleep. Creakily, he straightened his legs and began to walk towards Celine and Jay. "I think it's about time for wolves to be going to bed. You can chat in the morning. Anyone want to go with me to get a drink of water." As he headed to the creek, he enjoyed listening to the gurgling stream. When he returned most of his pack had settled down and made themselves comfortable.

In a more comfortable space farther away from them, he circled a few times before he went to bed. "Tomorrow, Celine, Jay, and Beau will go hunting together. The rest of us will stick around here. Some of us might help Seether find the supplies he needs. All clear?" Jay moved a little farther away from the rest of the pack so that Celine wasn't quite as isolated. He gave her her personal space, but stayed close enough to the huddled furry mass to remain warm. Rosencrantz wanted his schedule open mainly so he could talk Celine and see how she got on the others of the pack. Widow could maintain their camp and keep everyone organized. She was better at that than he was anyway.

Celine noted how Jay's tongue had lolled out and ears were perked towards her, seeing his tail wag slightly. She listened to him speak a moment and gave a small flush as he complimented her hunting skills. "Well... thank you, although your alpha seems to think of my hunting skill as making me some sort of monster.." She blinked a bit and snapped her mouth shut, she didn't want to speak ill of the alpha especially after just getting here and wasn't sure how her remark would be taken by his loyal followers. Even though she didn't say anything bad it still could be taken the wrong way. She was happy to change the subject and answer his question of her day. "Well...I suppose if you want the truth, my day has been...eventful to say the least... I mean I did unintentionally walk into unknown territory. Get surrounded by it's leader and followers, then escaped them to hunt down the prey they would have missed because of me." She didn't go into much more detail because she again felt as though her words could be taken the wrong way and she looked around at the small group around them.

She noticed how alot of his pack members were giving him looks and looked back to him as he spoke again. "I don't expect them to be the warmest group, especially towards a newcomer like me who took down the prey I did by myself.. Now that I have been accepted into this pack I do not mind showing my commitment nor do I mind having to gain everyone's trust. In fact I kind of expect it." She paused a moment as his last questions filled her ears. She looked down a moment knowing the truth was the best answer even if she was wary of this pack like they were wary of her. She looked up to Jay and spoke again. "I was running from my thoughts when I stumbled upon your territory. Like a crazed rabid lunatic I lost all my senses as I ran, desperate to escape the thoughts that plagued my mind..." She looked down once more before taking a deep breath and holding her head high looking to Jay. "I am packless because I lost my pack.. I was once an alpha and I failed my pack.." She again didn't want to go into too much detail about how she failed her pack, at least not yet.

She could tell that Jay was trying to get her to open up, she respected that about him, and perhaps she would eventually, but she didn't want to right at this moment. She was afraid of how he would react to how she failed. She was afraid even that he would shun her that she had told him as much as being alpha and failing her previous pack.

She listened to him ask so many questions at once before giving a small chuckle and holding up her paw. "Ok first things first. My favorite place to live has to be at the base of a small mountain, it's not too hot and it's not too cold. I have travelled quite far as my home was at the base of the said mountain. I don't know what it was called before me but I called it Inaria, it was beautiful it had a little bit of snow but never got too cold to completely freeze. The base of the mountain jutted out into the green lands and it was like an invisible divider kept snow from falling onto the greenland." After Jay was so honest she decided to be just as honest not caring who was listening.

"My pack and I lived there peacefully for many generations. We knew a neighboring pack was jealous and wanted our lands. We believed in peace and fought only when needed. We had strong skilled warriors.. but did not expect them to attack when they did... They overthrew us and many were lost, instead of risking more lives I ordered everyone who could to retreat.. those that couldn't were forced into the other pack or punished by death. The ones that escaped with me weren't in the best of shape... we had traveled many miles from our home and while they were resting I went hunting to find them food to help them heal and recover faster... but when I returned... humans were carting them into cages. I wanted to help but they kept telling me to run....so I did..."

She looked down tears stinging her eyes as the memories that she wished to avoid came flooding back and she squeezed her eyes shut. At this point she didn't care how the other members saw her or what they thought of her. She blamed herself for losing her pack and ultimately believed that she deserved to be alone.

She was pulled from her thoughts again when she heard the alpha join them and speak his mind about sleep and joining for a drink. She nodded and bowed to the alpha, finding it a way to secretely wipe her tears and joined him for a drink for a moment. She found herself an isolated space away from the others knowing a few didn't want her here and knew Widow wouldn't be so welcome to have her sleep with Widow so she found a spot she viewed comfortable and curled up.

Her ears perked as she heard the alpha give the orders of her Jay and Beau would go hunting and the reast would possibly help Seether find the supplies he needed. She gave a nod and a quiet "Yes sir." to his orders and laid her head on her paws. She closed her eyes but felt Jay move closer to her she in turn stretched so her body heat would help keep him warm and fell asleep.
