Rowan smiled, and it was enough to hide her weariness and pain, at least from the child. "I try my best, Neo, to save those in need. It is important to always work towards your goal, even if it seems impossible. I know my mom and dad never thought I would do the things I did..." She hadn't talked to her parents since the day she left home. Rowan would openly admit it too. She loved her home, but at the time, it was suffocating. She didn't regret her decision, not by any means, but sometimes Rowan wondered what she would do as time went on. Being a knight was exhausting, and she couldn't do it forever.

Neo believed Rowan's smile but Alvaro didn't. He'd known many, many humans and their emotions and weird quirks, he knew that there was something Rowan wasn't saying and he looked a little concerned. "Well I'm sure they would be proud of you if they knew or maybe they are proud. Maybe they figured out who you are!" Neo smiled lightly, not picking up on Alvaro's worry.

Rowan stood up and ruffled the kid's hair, "Maybe, Neo, maybe." Rowan doubted it though. No one knew who Robin was. Only the people at the manor knew who truly won the war. Her parents would not have any clue that she was a knight.

Alvaro looked up at Rowan, she had power that was for sure. Her backstory should've been enough to trigger them but it seemed like for some reason it hadn't. Interesting. Alvaro sighed, Neo smiled at Rowan. "Well, I'm sure they would be proud anyways."

Rowan grinned at the little boy, "Neo? Alvaro and I are going to talk about the border problem now. You can stay if you want, but you certainly don't have to. I know you have stew on the stove." Rowan hoped Neo wouldn't be interested in listening, but she wouldn't just tell him to leave.

Neo nodded, understanding this was a que for him to leave. "Okay, I'll keep it warm so you guys can eat when you're done." His smile disappeared though he never smiled for long anyways. The boy quickly left to the kitchen, leaving the adults to talk alone.

"Thanks Neo," Rowan called after the boy. Turning to Alvaro, she plopped down on the couch, "So. Im guessing you have some things you want to say - let me hear them."

Alvaro sighed and when he spoke his voice was quite a bit less cheerful. "Well, I believe that your power has only just began to uncover itself. It's not unheard of, since many children start out immediately with their powers and it's very hard to deal with, but often times powers uncover themselves when the situation needs them. You are quite baffling, I would've thought you'd uncover them during your battles, as times of danger are normally when they appear. Anyways, whenever you have the time, you should head on over to the barrier. We need to make sure the barrier will actually accept you which is usually not the case but it's possible." Alvaro ran a hand through his hair, which he did when he was thinking.

Rowan nodded. "I'll ride out on Frost after I make sure Neo will be okay for a day or two. How long will this take, if you had to guess?" Rowan wanted to help, but she also had to take care of a child. There was a new respect for parents in Rowan's mind now.
