Sky kept his eyes glued on Alex, watching his every move and listening to every word he said. "I don't know either, Alex, but I was way worse last night. I showed up wasted out of my mind to something that was really important to you and kissed you in front of your really homophobic dad, how much worse could that get?" Sky replied, shaking his head slightly. "I should have told you I couldn't make it." Sky said, lowering his voice a little as he looked away. Getting up, he made his way to his door before turning around. "I'm just gonna get a drink, you want anything." Sky asked. He waited for Alex's reply before going to the kitchen. He found some of his mom's alcohol and began to drink from the bottle. He preferred vodka to whatever he was drinking, but that was in his room, and he didn't want to grab it in front of Alex. Leaning back against the kitchen counter, he took a big sip, followed by a few more sips.

Alex felt his chest tightening as he forced his eyes to remain on Skylars. He wanted to look away, wanted to look at anything but the man sitting before him, to face what he'd been running from since last night. Yet, he found himself unable to do so. He couldn't, not when Skylar seemed so intent on trying to apologize... was this even an apology? "Yeah, you should have." He said quietly after a long moment. If Skylar wanted him to be angry and upset, then he could be... especially considering all that had occurred had been solely because he'd decided to show up drunk. When Skylar moved to stand, Alex took a small step back and listened to his question. He hesitated a moment before sighing softly. "Sure... a soda, or a water... whatever you have." He answered. He turned to watch Skylar leave the room before he sat down on the bed and then lay back with a sigh and a shake of his head.

After a couple more big swigs, he looked inside the fridge for a soda. He also wasn't satisfied with how much he had just drunk, so he grabbed two cans of Pepsi instead of just one. He set one can on the counter and then cracked open the other, pouring some out. He then filled the can back up with the alcohol he had before making his way back to his room. Walking back over to Alex, he handed him the can before sitting down beside him. Holding the can in between his legs, he stared down for a bit before bringing the can to his lips to take a sip. Sky didn't know what to say, so he waited. It was unclear if Alex would say anything, but still, he waited.

The whole reason that Alex had come here at all was to try to forget about last night and simply take advantage of Skylar's presence and the calm that it usually brought him. Maybe it had been a mistake, though. Perhaps he should be back at school, stuck behind a school desk, and focusing on whatever subject was being taught. Looking up at the ceiling, he groaned quietly and chewed at the corner of his bottom lip. It was only when he heard the sound of Skylar returning that he moved to sit up, and when he was offered a can of soda, he took it with a slight nod of thanks. Opening it, he looked down at his lap and took a sip. "Did something happen yesterday to make you drink that much?" He asked finally, after several minutes of silence, his gaze darting over toward Skylar for a brief moment before he quickly looked away.

All of Sky's thoughts froze after hearing Alex's question. He didn't expect the question at all and was unsure if he even wanted to talk about it. "You know, just everything going on inside my head." Sky replied hesitantly, his voice quiet and laced with sadness. He spoke of it like it was no big deal, like he'd be fine and everything was alright. Shrugging his shoulders, he brought his drink up to his lips again and took another sip. The buzz from the alcohol was getting stronger as the minutes went by. He looked over at Alex for a second before sipping his drink once more.

Alex frowned as he listened to Skylar's answer. He didn't like the way he seemed to brush off what he was feeling, or whatever shit he was dealing with, as if it were nothing. He didn't immediately say anything in response, though, not sure if he should, or even if he wanted, to push the subject. It was clear that Sky hadn't wanted to talk about it; the way he'd stiffened and hesitated to reply told him as much. Eventually, he found himself looking away and moving to take a sip of his drink once more. "You do know you can talk to me about stuff like that, right?" He asked quietly. "I mean... You don't have to be alone when it comes to dealing with whatever you'... dealing with." He added after a moment.

Sky looked over at Alex once more as he began to speak. Sky was quick to look away. If he had no drinks, he probably would have started to break down, but the buzz felt too good to start crying. That's how he felt now, it was weird. If he were just a little less tipsy, he would probably cry, and if he were really wasted, he'd also probably cry, but why not now? "I just don't want to be a burden to you." Sky replied, his voice quiet. Taking another sip of his drink, he realized he had already finished it. Tipping his head further back, he finished off the last couple of drops before setting the can down on his nightstand.

Alex's gaze was quick to fly to Skylar when he heard his quietly spoken response. A burden? How could possibly think he'd be one? "You aren't, Skylar..." He said quickly as he looked at him. He was aware that he'd spoken hastily, his voice a perfect blend of gentle firmness. "I want you to talk to me... to let me know what you're thinking and how you're feeling." He said gently as he watched him. Seeing him finishing off the remaining drops of his drink, he smiled faintly. Not wanting to fixate on this, or to dampen Skylar's mood any more than his questions already had, he sighed and looked away before taking another sip of his drink.

Sky continued to look away as Alex spoke. "I know, I know" Sky replied, shaking his head slightly as he looked down. Sky didn't know how else to reply. He couldn't promise that he'd talk to him, or even that he'd try, because he didn't really want to. Sky knew there was a chance of losing him from it, but he just couldn't for now. He wanted more alcohol, but he knew he shouldn't get too drunk with Alex after what had happened. Taking in a deep breath, he leaned back onto his hands and looked over at Alex. What now? He thought to himself.

Alex looked over at Skylar when he heard him and arched a brow slightly before he looked away. He wasn't entirely sure he believed that. Was there something about him that seemed unapproachable? The idea had him frowning before he could stop it. He didn't say anything in response though, instead choosing to allow the conversation to end there for now. Looking away he brought the can of soda to his lips and took a long swig of the carbonated fluid. "So... is there anything you want to do?" He asked, hsi gaze resting on the doorway before dropping to his lap. He honestly wasn't entirely sure what they could be doing, or what they should do next. It felt... tense, and awkward, and he desperately wanted something to distract himself and to fill the silence that seemed to weigh heavily between them.
