A shot of panic ran through Sky's body when he realized Alex knew he was drunk. "Oh, cmon Alex, I'm not that drunk." Skylar spoke, clearly lying. Shaking his head, he stepped forward to be close to Alex again after he moved. "What does me drinking have to do with any of this? Im fine." Skylar spoke after a moment. Straight bullshit was what Sky was speaking, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't get himself to shut up. The alcohol in his body was betraying him, but he loved the way it made him feel. When he gets sober in the morning, he will regret all of this for sure. Sky brought a hand up and rested it on Alex's waist. Just touching Alex sent a rush all through his body. Swallowing thickly, he looked Alex all the way down before slowly returning his eyes to Alex's. Sky didn't want him to be angry, but there was no doubt in his mind that Alex wasn't.

A muscle in Alex's brow twitched ever so slightly when he heard the blatant lie that Skylar gave him. Not that drunk? Bullshit. He could barely walk up those steps, and even now, he was struggling to properly form sentences without slurring his words. If they had been anywhere but in Alex's house, he likely wouldn't have remained so quiet, likely would have made clear his anger, frustration, and disappointment. The moment he felt Skylar's hand on his waist, he tensed before moving to step out of his touch and walk around him towards the bed before sitting down with a huff. "It has a lot to do with all of this..." He said, fixing a slight glare on Skylar. "You can't meet my parents when you're so drunk you're struggling to speak normally." He said, a slight sharpness to his voice as he looked at him. He made sure not to raise his voice, not to allow any of his anger to be known to anyone beyond the four walls of his room. Having his parents hear him and then bombard him with a multitude of questions and perhaps even a scolding was the last thing that he needed.

Within seconds, the warmth from Alex's body left Sky's hand. It took a hot second for him to realize, slowly turning to face the direction Alex took off in. His brows furrowed as a slight frown formed on his face. "I said Im fine Alex." Skylar spoke, his voice a little more stern. Sky just wanted to be touching Alex in that moment, but Alex had made it clear that he didn't want the same. It still wasn't clicking to Sky, so he started to walk over to Alex again. He was walking funny, but at least he wasn't falling yet. "We're in your room, why can't I touch you?" Sky questioned, his voice laced with a little aggression. He made sure not to touch Alex, but he got close. Looking down at Alex, he kept his brows furrowed.

Perhaps later, once he'd cooled off and had some time to think, he'd feel at least a little guilty for pulling away from Skylar and speaking to him as he had. But right then, he couldn't care any less than he did. Hearing Skylar say that he was fine again did nothing to still the anger raging within him. He wanted to know why Skylar had been drinking. Why on all days he'd get so drunk that he struggled to talk and had clear difficulty walking? He wanted to ask why he thought it was a good idea to show up here at all after having consumed alcohol. Hadn't he made it clear to him that his parents were strict? They wouldn't tolerate him being around Skylar or even allow him to call him a friend if they suspected he might be a bad influence, and showing up drunk to a first meeting dinner certainly wasn't a good look. If they found out, Alex wouldn't be surprised if they forbade him from having any further interactions with Skylar. It wouldn't be the first time they'd done such a thing. When Skylar approached the bed, Alex leaned back slightly, propping himself up on his arms and tilting his head to look up at Skylar. He hesitated for a second at the subtle aggression in his tone before looking away. "Because right now I don't want you to." He said lowly as he turned his gaze back to Skylar. "This isn't like your house. I can't let you carelessly kiss or touch me here, especially when you're drunk... and don't try telling me you're fine, because clearly you're not." He said his voice low, and yet holding that same sharp accusatory note as it had earlier.

Skylar scoffed at Alex's response. "Whatever man, you're just a big fucking pussy." Skylar replied, his voice low, but it still held that same aggression from when he last spoke. The words were like venom. Skylar would have never said that if he were sober, because he understood why Alex wasn't open about his sexuality yet. At the moment, it bothered him so much because all he wanted to do was kiss him and act like everything was alright. Despite him being drunk, the secrecy of their relationship has been getting to him. Not being able to kiss him in public, or even touch him in public, was horrible... but he was putting up with it for Alex. He had to put up with it because he couldn't force Alex to come out, but it got to a point. Skylar is getting to the point where he doesn't want to hide their relationship, but he couldn't say that.

Skylar's words struck Alex like a punch to the gut. He stiffened, his eyes widening in surprise, and then a flash of hurt passed over his expression. It was there and gone in the space of a heartbeat, hidden from view by two things: Alex shoving it aside and dropping his gaze from Skylar's own. His fingers curled into the fabric of the blanket on his bed, and he clenched his jaw, biting at the corner of his bottom lip as he did so. He wanted to say something in response, but he found himself unable to do so, because as much as he hated it... Skylar was right. He was a coward... a big fucking coward who'd rather hide who he was than face the scorn and hate of his parents. He despised that part of himself, the part that wanted so desperately to fit in, to be the perfect son, the child that his parents could be proud of, that he was willing to hide who he was. He hated that he was forcing Skylar to endure this relationship behind closed doors, and had often thought about how unfair it was for Skylar to have to hide in the shadows with him when he didn't need to. "I'm sorry you feel that way about me..." He said coldly after a long moment of silence, he still didn't trust his gaze not to show how deeply Skylar's words had wounded him, and so he made no effort to look up at him as he spoke.

Skylar stumbled backwards, with his balance and vision messed up, it was quite hard to stay still for long. "Of course I fucking feel that way, why wouldn't I when I cant fucking touch you anywhere we go but my room." Skylar spoke, raising his voice slightly. He kept his gaze on Alex, watching his every move despite not being able to register things right away. He needed to hold onto something, but he didn't want to sit down near Alex. Instead, he turned around and stumbled to the nearest wall. Once his hands were on the wall, he pushed up against it before turning to look at Alex once more.

The moment that Skylar was stumbling backwards, Alex was looking towards him, ready to jump up and help him should he show any sign of being about to fall. But then he heard his words, and the way he'd raised his voice slightly. Instantly, panic shot through him, and his heart all but froze over and stuttered into a galloping rhythm. His blue eyes flew to the partially cracked door of his room, fearful that his parents had heard. But when no questions were hollared up, he found himself almost breathing a sigh of relief. "Keep your voice down..." He said a hint of the panic he'd felt moments ago lingered in his voice as he watched Skylar lean up against the wall and turn to look at him. "I get that you're upset, but please, don't talk so loudly..." He said, suddenly finding himself on the defending end rather than the one lashing out. By all rights, he had every reason to. It was understandable that Skylar would be upset about not being able to touch or kiss him anywhere but at his place, but that didn't mean he had the right to show up here drunk. Especially during something as important to Alex as this dinner was.

Skylar rolled his eyes. "Blah fucking blah." Skylar slurred, using his hands to emphasize a blabbing motion. Slowly, Skylar slid down Alex's wall to the floor. By now, he was looking away from Alex and didn't really want to look back at him. Maybe he should just go home, get Alex to tell his parents he wasn't feeling well. It'd be such a shame, and Sky didn't want to do that to Alex's parents. Even though he didn't really like them already, he wasn't going to leave after his mother had cooked a nice dinner.

Alex's gaze never left Skylar as he listened to his words and watched him mimic them with a motion of his hands. He didn't look away as Skylar slid down his wall to sit on the floor; he couldn't. He felt childish and stupid for looking forward to this, for having put in all that time and effort into trying to make this dinner perfect. He felt like a complete idiot for extending the offer and then being as excited about it as he had been. He had been so looking forward to Skylar meeting his parents, even if their true relationship couldn't be known. To say he was hurt by the lack of care or consideration that Skylar was showing would be an understatement. He wanted to argue, but found himself unable to for fear of agitating Skylar enough to have him speaking so loudly his parents could hear. "This was a mistake..." He muttered before he could stop himself as he turned his gaze from Skylar and looked down. He genuinely regretted ever extending the offer to Skylar, regretted telling his parents that a great friend of his would be coming over for dinner. All of it... he regretted all of it, the planning, the excitement, the attempts to try and make this relationship as normal as it could be considering the fact that he was hiding his sexuality from his parents.
