The day Blackburn and Torrin spent outside of the safety of the camp was rather uneventful. Every scent of the rogue they had picked up had led to absolute nothingness and it always seemed too pick up elsewhere and lead them again to nothing. It was tiring and very repetitive. As they walked into the camp, Torrin would look around at the camp. She smelt Dahlia nearby so was soothed that the female hadn't run off. No matter how much hatred she had for the brown fae, Torrin still cared. Looking back at Blackburn, she smiled gently at him, "Tell Jax he can have my share.." She told him softly. "I don't want him going hungry." Torrin added before looking around at the rest of the pack as they all seemed to be a little more chatty today then they were the day before. Torrin was happy that they were all able to push forward, though she knew it was still hard for them all too do just that. "I will be in the den, love.." She told him softly, nuzzling his cheek before heading toward the alpha den. The black and white female moved with grace even with the gimp she was given by the rogue. Entering the den, Torrin would lay down, allowing herself to relax for the first time today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The day seemed like it had flown by after Rugar had left his flower standing in the clearing. He was excited too see her again, and maybe this time she'd spend the night with him. The silver male brushed through the thickets rather quickly, in his maw dangled a fawn that was no more than a week old but was larger than most. He carried it with ease than most wolves would. The wounds scattered along his bodice from his fight with Darkheart seemed to be scabbed over and healing well as in the moonlight one could see them more as his fur almost twinkled within the light of the moon. Finally getting too the clearing, Rugar stopped and stared at Dahlia. She was so very beautiful. How could he have gotten so lucky? With a small grunt, the brute would step into the light of the clearing, his orbs glinting with love and mischeif all at once. Moving to be in front of her, Rugar gently brushed himself against her before setting the kill down, "I hope this is enough, if it isn't.. I'd be open for going on a hunt with you.." He stated softly too her with a widened grin. Rugar soon moved to lay down, not daring to take a bite until she did.

Blackburn The large male nodded at her request and nuzzled her back. "Okay my love," he said softly. He watched her walk away towards the den, his ice-colored gaze following her movements. He spotted Jax and relayed Torrins message. The young wolf seemed to brighten, and his tail wagged sheepishly as he thanked the alpha and grabbed a small carcass from the pile. Blackburn waited until he grabbed his share before taking his own. He pulled out a large raccoon, hoping to share at least a little meal with Torrin. She deserved all the rest and food she could get right now. Raccoon dangling from his maw, he began to walk towards the den, but paused. Perhaps he should have Rift take a second look at her wounds, maybe she could apply something that would speed up the healing process. He made his way to the healers den and peeked inside, making eye contact with the pretty young she-wolf. He didn't even have to speak. Rift got to her paws and followed him silently to his den. Crawling inside, he set the raccoon down gently. "I've brought Rift with me," he announced quietly to her. "Just for another quick lookover." Rift squeezed inside and made gentle eye contact with Torrin. "How is your shoulder?" She asked softly. "I've brought some tumeric and aloe. It should help ease the pain." She set the herbs down in front of the black and white wolf. "You'll want to eat them all," she instructed. "Follow it up with some of that meat, it'll help the taste." Dahlia Dahlia flicked her ears forward as Rugar entered the clearing, a fawn dangling from his maw. Her mouth began to water at the mere sight of it, and the smell of fresh blood wafted her way. She remained still as he brushed himself alongside her, trying to not show any sign that she'd enjoyed his greeting. He set down the kill and expressed his hopes that it would be enough, and she was relieved to hear him say he would be up for hunting with her. "It looks like plenty," she said, her voice sleek and silky. "But I would be a fool to not take you up on a hunting trip." A flirty lilt to her tone indicated that she wouldn't mind spending more time with the brute. Perhaps he wasn't so bad, after all. "You are an intriguing wolf, Rugar." She admitted, her dark eyes looking him over once again. "I've never seen someone pine so hard for my attention." It was clearly intended to be a sarcastic joke, but it was obvious that she saw something in him that she liked.

Torrin would be laying with her cranium in between her front paws when Blackburn and Rift came into the den. Lifting her head, she looked at them both as a small smile spread across her maw, "Is everything alright?" she asked before hearing Blackburn speak. "Just for another quick lookover." The black and white female would flick her audits before nodding, "Alright.." She mentioned before looking over at Rift as she began asking questions. "It feels fine, only slight pangs of pain when I put some weight on it, I can still walk well on it though.." She told the other softly. Torrin didn't exactly like being babied, but, she figured she'd have too get used too it. Continuing too listen to Rift, she nodded and looked at the herbs before picking them all up at once, chewing and swallowing. As she swallowed, the females face scrunched a bit before she took a piece of meat from the raccoon. "That was.. disgusting.." She mumbled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "But I would be a fool to not taking you up on a hunting trip." The flirtatious hint laced within the females words was enough to get Rugars heart pumping. A charming grin crawled its way onto his maw as he laid there staring at Dahlia. "Well in that case.. We will have to go hunting after we eat.." He stated before tilting his head and smirking, "Unless.. You'd prefer to go now?" He questioned as he stood up, stepping to be beside her once more before circling around her once. "You are an intriguing wolf, Rugar." Hearing her words sent his heart soaring. Did she really think that? Or was she just saying that to make him fall deeper so she could use him? Whatever the case, Rugar didn't really care. "Well.. Get used to it beautiful.. Because since I caught it.. I aint ever letting it go." He stated too her softly before stepping around too the front of her again and sitting down. "Well, shall we hunt now or eat?" He asked, tilting his head to the right slightly.

Blackburn The large male winced as he watched Torrin eat the herbs. He could practically taste the tang himself. He remembered eating those after training sessions to help with muscle soreness, and he'd never forgotten the bitter taste. "I'm glad," Rift answered. "You seem to be healing well. It won't be long at all I'm sure before you're good as new." She gave her a friendly smile. Blackburn thanked the young medicine wolf before seeing her out. He walked with her a little ways before parting and coming back inside the den with Torrin. "I told Jax your message." he said. "He seemed happy. It seems as if the pack is moving on from the incident." An image of Darkheart's mangled body flashed in his mind and he shook himself, ridding it away. "I'm glad. The quicker things begin to fall back into place, the sooner we can start rebuilding the pack." He looked at her. "A lot has happened the past few years. For awhile I thought this pack was cursed." He said quietly, remembering all the sickness he'd seen. "Despite the events that have happened recently...I almost think you were meant to be here." He told her. "Meant to help me rebuild the Baxtara's. To make it as great as it once was, all those years ago." Dahlia The young she-wolf kept her gaze on Rugar as he circled her once more, amused. She found it a little endearing how hard he was falling for her. They barely knew each other, afterall. But whatever he was doing seemed to be working...at least a little bit. She was charmed by him, even if at the moment it was mostly out of amusement. She found herself questioning why she wanted so badly to have been chosen by Blackburn. Blackburn was her age, but his youth showed. He was a handsome wolf who was well put together and clean, but he wasn't confident in himself and was still struggling to be a leader. Rugar...he was bigger and more rugged, yes, but he didn't seem to have the same self confidence issues as Blackburn. Rugar seemed very confident in himself if nothing else, and Dahlia wasn't exactly opposed to his sheer size. She wasn't entirely sure how old he was, but he didn't seem too much older than herself. Even if he was older, she was surprised to find herself not caring much at all. "We can eat first," She told him, her voice smooth and calm, almost seductive. "Then we can hunt to our heart's content, yeah?" She stepped closer to him, the top of her head just barely reaching his chest, even as she lifted her chin up to him. "Just you and me..."

Torrin flicked her tail as Rift stated she was glad that her wounds were getting better. Hearing that'd she be as good as new soon, she smiled. Torrin couldn't wait to be walking normally again. Watching as Blackburn saw her out of the den, Torrin would shift her weight a little before hearing his words. "I'm glad everyone is moving on.. It means they're strong and wish to push forward.. Loss is just another way of life saying to push onward, at least in my eyes." She told him softly with a smile. For being young, Torrin had a way with words. She was rather surprised by herself sometimes. Listening to Blackburn, she listened to his statment as he told her that it felt the pack was cursed for the longest time, until she came along. Wagging her tail, Torrin would cuddle into Blackburn, lowering her audits as she did so. "I don't deserve that much credit.. But, I will help you with anything you need my love." She grinned, licking his cheek afterward. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rugar would nod at her answer, not moving at all as he wanted her to have the first bite of the meal. "Yeah.." He replied back to her question before watching as she moved closer. Rugar's heart pounded within his chest as she looked up at him, the feeling of her closeness enough to send him into millions of pieces. He wanted her as his queen so badly, but he wasn't exactly sure why. Rugar was obviously a bit older than the she-wolf, though he was only five. But, it was obvious she didn't care about that fact, which made him happy. "Just you and me..." Smirking as her comment, Rugar chuckled, "I like that idea.. Now.. eat up." He mentioned, nudging the dead, bloated fawn toward her.

Blackburn The large male couldn't help but wag his tail as Torrin cuddled into him. "I love you, Torrin..." he spoke, his voice almost a whisper. He found himself almost wanting to just leave the pack and start over again somewhere else with her. To leave all of the chaos behind and start a new life. But he had responsibilities here, and he had wolves he cared about deeply. He could not abandon them in this time of need and loss. "Sometimes..." he said quietly. "Sometimes it's really hard to live up to my father. He was such a good leader...I feel like just a pup trying to make decisions for adults." He rested his chin on his paws. "It's so overwhelming." Dahlia Dahlia grinned, her dark pools alight with flirtatiousness. She found it to be freeing and fun to flirt so openly with someone like this. In pack life, she found herself wanting to be more put together, professional, regal. But outside of the pack's bounds...with Rugar...she felt she could be as loose and free as she wanted. She could say whatever she wnated, do whatever she wanted. She could tease him in ways she could never have hoped to tease Blackburn. She dipped her head down and sniffed the dead fawn before laying down and sinking her teeth into the back half, tearing into the spine. Severing it, she tore off the entire back half, leaving the rest for Rugar. Although a big for a fawn, it was still a small meal, so she was excited to go hunting and maybe catch something bigger. A rush of excitement flooded through her body as the taste of the fawn entered her mouth. It felt...different. It tasted different. Almost as if the one who killed it mattered. Eating food caught by the pack was good, yes, but this...this tasted wild. She couldn't explain the rush she felt as she tore the meat off of the small bones, devouring her portion. She almost felt as if she hadn't eaten in weeks, even though she was a fairly well fed wolf. She raised her head, licking her maw clean. Her dark eyes were lit with bloodlust, and the urge to kill something was bubbling in her chest. She wanted the excitement of a hunt. She rose to her paws, shaking out her golden-brown pelt. "Are you ready?" she asked, looking down into his handsome, rugged face.

"I love you, Torrin.." The words rolled off of his tongue like that of meat being satisfyingly ripped from bone. It was so surreal for her to hear another wolf say that to her. Torrin had never felt this way for anyone, and had never had anyone feel this way for her. She felt exhilarated to hear him say those words, her tail thumping the ground as she smiled, "I love you too.. Blackburn." She told him softly, licking his cheek. Torrin wanted so badly to be the best she could for him, though he had slightly different morals than her, especially when it came to ways to run things within the pack. Though, she knew she'd have to learn them more than she already had. Laying her cranium on her paws, Torrin was ready to drift off into sleep when she heard Blackburn begin to talk once more. Lifting her crania back up, she looked over at him as he spoke. "Living up to someone else's potential isn't something you should be doing.. You need to live up to you're own potential." Torrin began speaking, gently nuzzling his cheek. "You will never be able to fill up anothers stomach unless yours is already full. Self strength is worth more than numbered strengths." The black and white female then smiled over at her mate, "Do you understand?" She asked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rugar watched Dahlia as she lowered herself down, severing the back half of the body from the front and taking it for herself. Grinning, He grasped the front half in his strong maw and tore into it. Blood plastered his lips and a good part of his muzzle. By the end of the meal there really wasn't much left other than some cartilage and fat that he didn't care to eat that hung from the bones. And the head of the fawn, he didn't much care for that meat either. Watching as Dahlia stood, he did the same. Hearing her voice, he grinned and lowered his crania a little before lifting it, "Just as ready as you are.." He grinned, seeing the wild look in her eyes. Those beautiful brown orbs held so much, he only hoped he'd be able to help her release some of it. Turning, he'd bound toward the border, his tongue swiping over his lips to clear most of the blood from them. "What are you thinking? another deer but bigger? Moose?" He asked, smirking. Though, he knew they most likely wouldn't be able to bring it down himself.

Blackburn The large male listened to Torrin's voice, letting out a soft sigh. She was right. He nodded, gazing into her face. "Yes." he answered her. "You're right." He snuggled up to her, wrapping his tail around them. "I love you..." His eyes fluttered closed as sleep began to overtake him. Dahlia The small she-wolf grinned, her teeth flashing sharply in the silver moonlight. "Perfect." The single word dripped from her maw like blood, her voice trailing off into a low whisper. He asked her if she had a certain prey in mind, and she stared into his eyes for a moment before answering. "Whatever we come across first." She could feel the excitement coursing through her body, her energy about to burst. She was a hunter for the Baxtara's, one of the best, but she had never felt this eager for a kill before. It had always just been a fun little chore to do, but now...it felt different. It felt like it was an urge she needed to soothe. Without waiting for a reply, the she-wolf darted into the shadows of the night, quickly trotting through the trees. Her snout was to the ground, taking in as many scents as possible all at once. Her body felt as if it was on fire, full of energy and life. She hadn't felt this way in a long time. It seemed suddenly as if Darkheart's death was no longer affecting her, the memories of the brutal scene almost fueling her forward. Flashes of blood in her mind, she propelled forward, her maw watering with drool at the thought of a fresh kill. She caught the various scents of raccoon, rabbit, opossum, snake, owl, and mice. She snorted, having inhaled too much at once. She slowed to a stop, her paws firm in the dirt. She lifted her head, her ears rotating wildly as she listened. She could hear Rugar, and spotted him as he caught up with her. His scent brought her a strange sense of comfort, but she did not dwell on it. She flicked her tail at him as a sign for silence, her ears pricking forward at a distant sound. Hooves running through the tall grass. She stared, her gaze piercing the darkness as she focused. She could smell the scent of deer wafting their way as it drifted into her nostrils. She turned to look at Rugar, making eye contact with the large brute. She flicked an ear towards the direction in which she'd heard the sound, making sure that he was on the same page as her. She nodded at him and began pursuing the sound, making sure to keep her pawsteps light. She moved easily and gracefuly through the tall grass, weaving softly in and out between the dense trees. As the two of them moved through the forest, it became clearer that this was a buck. There were scrapes in the trunks of the trees, indicators of male deer habits. She was beginning to sense that there was more than one, probably a small herd of buck traveling together. It was nearing their mating season, afterall. She could smell that they were much closer, and she flicked her tail as a signal to slow down. She slowed her pace to a walk, carefully trodding through the long undergrowth. She could hear the sound of hooves in the grass somewhere up ahead. She came to a complete stop, freezing in place as her eyes locked onto what they had been chasing. A young but very large buck, his antlers freshly sharpened. She turned to look at Rugar, her eyes alight with excitement and readiness. Edited at September 2, 2023 08:14 PM by Hollywood Hills

Rugar's audits flicked at Dahlias words, his golden orbs watching as she took off in a leap forward. Grinning, the brute gracefully went after her. Though, he surely wasn't very light on his paws. The sounds of crunching leaves could be heard with every stride as his paws hit the ground beneath him, his audits veered forward, the sound of the wind whipping within them made him even more eager to give chase. He missed the feeling of adrenaline flowing within his veins. Especially after the fight he had just endured with Dahlia's uncle. Catching up with the beauty, he slowed down, watching her body language and not saying a word as she gave him a sign of silence by waving her tail. The large brutes orbs shimmered against the moonlit sky as he stared at her, almost as if they were just that mesmerized. Just looking at Dahlia brought the male a sense of love and a feeling that he needed to protect her at all costs. Flicking his tail, the brute watched as Dahlia looked away from him for the first time, her mind reeling as the scent of the nearby deer rushed by them with every small gust of wind. He grinned as she stared back at him just a moment afterward, the glint in his eyes telling her to take the lead and that he would follow her. Following behind her as she moved, the brute would watch Dahlia's body movements. How her muscles moved so gracefully with every movement she made, her tail waving as her balanced herself. It was all so.. perfect. Everything about her was perfect, it was very soothing to him to know that he found a potential mate that was actually fitting. Snapping back into reality, Rugar noticed the rub marks on the trees, he let out a low growl, knowing just how much dangerous this little hunt had gotten. Freshly sharpened horns met the buck would fight back and not flee like normal. They would have to be careful. Very careful. Soon, he too could smell just how close there prized kill was. Rugars large bodice slunk lower to the ground as he stalked through the long undergrowth, his tail waving behind him to keep him balanced as his golden orbs stared forward. As Dahlia looked at him, he locked gazes with her. Tossing his head, he signaled that he would go around the other side of the buck. He wanted to be the one to get attacked, knowing he could take a blow if he needed. Rugar wasn't doubting Dahlias ability, but the overwhelming feeling of needing to protect her now fueled through his veins. Without a reply, Rugar swiftly moved away from her, his tail gently brushing up against her as he moved through the tall grass. Letting out a small growl, the brute would peer from the tall grass slowly, watching as the buck now snorted and turned toward him, stamping his hooves and tossing it's head to show off it's weapons that were attached to its skull. The brutes audits laid against the back of hi crania, his tail waving behind him. Soon, the buck heaved himself forward in a rushing motion before stopping, as if giving Rugar a chance to leave. But, the wolf just snapped at the deers front leg, jumping to the side to turn it's front away from Dahlia.

Dahlia went unaware of Rugar's eyes on her, but as soon as they made eye contact she instantly knew his feelings for her. Of course he hadn't been so subtle about it previously, but now that she could see it in his eyes...there was no doubt in her mind that this is the life she wanted to live. She gave no indication of this however, as they continued on. Once coming upon the buck, she was glad to see that they were both on the exact same page. She remained still as he made his move, his tail brushing up against her as he did so. She physically shivered at the slight touch, her dark gaze following him as he moved. She watched the specificity in how he moved, placing his paws exactly where they needed to go, his muscles rippling underneath his pelt. She kept an intense eye on the buck as Rugar did his thing, expertly turning it to face him. He snapped at its front legs, and as it turned to face him Dahlia slunk herself forward, her belly close to the ground. She was focused on its back end, scanning for areas to grab. She noticed one of its hind legs was recently injured, perhaps from another buck. A few small puncture wounds near its left hip gave it a slight limp. With cold calculation, Dahlia lept from her hiding place within the tall grass, her weight crashing down onto the young buck's back on the left side. The deer stumbled, unbalanced, and quickly turned to face her. Faster than lightening, Dahlia opened her jaws and latched onto its throat just below its jaw. The weight shifted again, and she attempted to try and pull it down. The buck was too big however, and so she only succeeded in pulling its head and neck down near the ground. Its mouth hung open in a silent cry, unable to breath or make a sound as its head was twisted upwards towards the sky. The rest of its body was still standing, its front legs bowed in order to try and stay upright. Dahlia snarled, her breath hot on its neck as she clamped harder. The warmth of blood seeped into her mouth, fueling her. She couldn't let go, not now. She had Rugar to help her bring it to the ground, her only job now was to make sure it did not escape her death grip on its throat. She planted her paws firmly in the ground, her hip and shoulder muscles tensing. She knew the buck was as good as dead, for her bite would not be able to be shaken. She trusted Rugar to know exactly what to do. She kept one eye closed tightly, the large antlers just inches away from it.
