Name:
Blanche Aldair

Nickname(s):
Those closest to her normally call her B; pronounced B-ee.

Gender:
Female

Age:
22 years old

Birth date:
September 16th

Sexuality:
Bisexual

Aroma:
Pine, Eucalyptus, freshwater

Species:
Werewolf

Appearance:
The female was taller than average but not so tall that it was really noticeable. She was around 5 feet and 8 inches, her height not really something she paid much attention to. Blanche was definitely a beautiful woman and with the way she held herself, it seemed she knew it but she was simply just confident in herself. By avoiding pretty much any physical confrontation, her skin was almost pristine. It was smooth with little to none blemishes and she took pride in caring for it. Whenever she did get a wound or bruise, she would make sure to take care of it to the best of her ability, she didn’t want the scars they could leave. Despite the fair skin, she did have some freckling across her nose and over her arms but that paired with her ginger hair and suited her well.

As for her hair, there was certainly a lot of it. Each ginger strand being a relatively tight curl, cascading down just below her shoulders. It wasn’t exactly long but the shere thickness of it all made it seem all the more curly. Most of the time she left it down, enjoying the weight of it on her shoulders but for special occasions she wore it more styled. Blanche would separate the top half of her hair and brush it back before pinning it back, making it look like the top half was tied up, giving it that kind of messy-neat look. Matching the red hair, Blanche had green eyes but they weren’t the usual forest green. More of a paler shade with tints of darker shades in certain light settings.

Blanche doesn’t wear much jewellery, occasionally she will wear a bracelet or something of the sorts but usually she just doesn’t see the need in it. This is all beside one item that she refuses to ever take off unless she has to shift. It was all she had left of her mother. It was nothing special in looks but it had been passed down through generations and she wished she didn’t have it so early on in life. Even so, it holds so much importance to her. A simple chain with a small red moon sitting at the end that came down to sit just above her cleavage. When thinking or in her own world, she was often seen with the moon in her hand, her thumb gently brushing over it almost unknowingly.

When it came to her attire, Blanche was a sucker for a really good dress but it always had to either be white or black. There was no inbetween or any other funky colour. It was either those or she would have to wear a different outfit entirely. On a casual day, she could often be seen wearing some black ripped skinny jeans with a white t-shirt and oversize flannel over the top. As much as she enjoyed dressing casual, Blanche would take any excuse to wear one of her dresses. Or better yet, go buy a new one. Shopping and dress shopping were two completely different things.

Once shifted into her other form, Blanche could definitely be described as monstrous, just like the rest of her kind. It was a painful experience and she kept it limited the best she could. Even if actually shifting was the best feeling ever. It was like living within a cage inside yourself, getting the odd few nights of freedom. Yet, it also scared her. In this form she stood at just over 7ft, all elegance about her gone. Her eyes become darker, as does her fur, giving it a deep fox red, almost brown colouration instead of the ginger. Like all of her kind, in this form she was simply made for fighting and killing, making her a blood-thirsty machine when she can't control it.

Personality:
Unlike her father, Blanche was quite a free-spirited individual and never really cared much about the war that went on between him and the vampire king. She kept to herself and made sure to do what was needed of her. Then again, not much upset this werewolf and was usually seen with a calm air about her. Life was too short to be so serious was her motto that she tried to follow to the best of her ability. Even so, there were times she had to hold a seriousness to her and would gladly fight beside those she cared for, following any order her father would ask of her, while also trying to avoid the physical aspect of it all. Maybe it was the wolf part of her but loyalty was everything and was ingrained into her very core.

Despite this calmness, when it comes to holding her own or protecting something she believes in, Blanche could have be quite spicy and fiery. Tending to use her words and intelligence rather than brute strength. It wasn’t known that B didn’t like to get physical or get into fights. She didn’t like to inflict pain on others, it went against her morals. Due to this, every moon where she is forced to shift, she does nothing but try and fight for control, it doesn’t always work but she tries her absolute hardest. That's not to say if it came down to life and death that she couldn’t fight, her father had made sure to train her since the day she started walking. Being the species she was called for it.

Blanche walked with confidence and always held her head high. She would happily interact with anyone without a nerve in her body. She enjoyed talking to people and learning about them, about their life choices. As confident as she is, being quiet also works to her advantage. She was a good listener and enjoyed helping those that have asked for it from her.

The clattering of hooves and wheels on cobblestone seemed to draw the attention of the people standing outside. The large, cobblestone wraparound driveway was especially useful for providing a grand entrance. A young woman in the back of the carriage turned her head towards the window, admiring the architecture of the grand mansion before her. Although not as beautiful as her castle, it was still quite a sight. The carriage driver came to a gentle stop, and she could hear the horses snorting. "Miss Samaras, we've arrived." He called out, tapping the top of the carriage roof gently. The door opened to reveal a handsome man, smiling at her with brilliant white teeth. His golden eyes gleamed in the dimming sunlight. "Thank you, sir." She smiled at him, taking his hand as he reached to help her out. Elegant and beautiful was an understatement to describe her.

Josephine wore a beautiful, tight fitting maroon dress. It reached the floor and dragged behind her, although not much. It was backless and v-cut, and sheer in the middle. The top half was adorned with obsidian black gemstones. She had silky, sheer gloves that reached her elbow. They matched the color of the dress, and at the top was the same black color.

Her hair was pulled back into a sort of waterfall braid, and decorated with roses in the back of the braid. She wore heels that seemed to make her loom over the man next to her. In her hand was a crimson mask, adorned with black gemstones.

It was the face of a cat, the cat's face locked in an eternal smirk. Josephine glanced towards the horses, which were a shiny black color. The light from the now rising full moon shimmered down on the horses, and for a minute it seemed as if they weren't even real.

"Be careful tonight, Miss. It's a full moon the werewolves are extra frisky at night." The gestured to the moon, a concerned look on his face. Josephine lifted one of her gloved hands and rested it on his shoulder. "Don't fret, my good sir. I can handle myself." She gave him a toothy smile, revealing her incredibly long and sharp fangs. He returned the smile, and then off she went. As she approached the gates of the mansion, she could hear the hoofbeats of the horses again. Although some sort of fancy car would make for a cool entrance, the carriage was better. It drew attention and made people wonder who was in it.

Upon reaching the gate, Josephine was greeted by an older man. He had black hair that was slowly greying, and brilliant blue eyes. "Nice to see you again, Ethel." He beamed widely, and then pressed a button. The black iron gates slowly opened, and she cast him another look before entering. She brought her mask up to her face, carefully fastening the straps around her head.

She had a blind spot on the sides and in front of her face, but she could still see clearly. Her bright golden eyes and fangs were her only indicator of her being a vampire, but otherwise nobody could tell who she was. She was guided to the ballroom, which was absolutely massive. It was decorated intricately and had an open bar, and various other doors that led to other rooms. There was an arched doorway that led up to a secluded balcony. That could probably be useful for later.

Joesphine made a beeline for the open bar, leaning upon the darkly stained oak as she reached it. "Red wine, please. And make it extra.. special." She winked at the older lady behind the bar, who returned the wink. Moments later the woman slid her a glass of wine that seemed to shimmer like blood in the lighting of the ballroom.

A man had come up to the bar in the short time she was there, obviously checking her out. She leaned back against the bar, eyeing him carefully. Josephine's eye twitched as she noticed where he happened to be looking. "My my. You are quite the beautiful lady." He spoke in a sultry tone, moving slightly closer to her. "I know." She hissed back in a tone of annoyance.

"A vampire... but I like that." He moved even closer, now hovering over her. He was directly in front of her, hands on either side of the bar behind her. Nobody seemed fo notice, or they just didn't quite care. "Got a thing for vampires, hm? Want me to show you what we're capable of?" Josephine whispered, her bright golden eyes searching his masked face. His mask was a boar, and he wore a blinding white suit.

She watched as he smirked, moving his hands onto her hips. Josephine cringed internally and stiffened up. "Absolutely." He leaned down closer to her, his lips inches away from her ear. She took her free hand and grabbed his tie, slipping out from underneath him. She yanked his face closer to hers now and glared at him. "Back off or I swear I'll slit your goddamn throat."

That seemed to make his entire demeanor change. He tried to pull away from her, but she kept a firm grasp on his tie. His dark brown eyes were filled with fear, a familiar sight. Vampires were the stronger and superior species. Sure, werewolves have brute strength, but none of them know of the powers that vampires possess. Finally, she let him go, watching as he hurried off into the sea of people. She smirked and brought her glass up to her lips, taking a sip of the liquid. Wine, mixed with blood. A delicacy. She licked her blood away and carefully scanned the crowd, looking for anyone who she may recognize.

Despite everyone being masked, she could still recognize people by their hair or their body. There seemed to be no one. Josephine made her way into the crowd, choosing to mingle with them and find someone she could get to know. There were many people who gazed at her as she passed by them, an awe-struck look on their faces. Upon finding nobody interesting, Josephine removed herself from the crowd. She approached the arched doorway that led to the balcony, leaning against it. She was alone, though it was peaceful.

This one evening meant everything to Blanche, it was the one night where everyone had to behave themselves. It was the one night where werewolves and vampires were forced to get along. It was an event she refused to miss. Besides, it was an excuse to get a new dress, or several. For weeks leading up to today, she had bought so many dresses and had so many different ideas, changing her mind constantly until she found one that was simply just perfect. The black fabric was silky yet soft in a way, moving with her body as she moved, giving ample room to be able to dance and move for as long as she could. There was a long slit up the leg of the dress, starting at her ankle and cutting off at the top of her thigh. Showing off some skin was all a part of the fun and she figured if she was going to dress up, she needed to do it right. The dress came with a corset like piece for her midriff, it wasn't actually a corset but it definitely gave that look and with her figure, it did what she wanted to do. It was a deep forest green with black laces. Colours that complimented each other perfectly.

Blanche’s main problem was finding a mask that tied into everything else and yet one that also made her stand out. Social events were her favourite and she was hoping to meet some new people. No matter what they were. At the last minute she had found a mask that would do. It wasn’t perfect in her eyes but it matched everything else. It was the shape of an owl and the same shade of green as the corset part of her dress with vine-like structuring over it. Simple yet effective. Alongside her mask and dress, Blanche wore her usual necklace without a care in the world if it matched anything. It was the last thing she had of her mother and she refused to ever take it off. The shoes she chose were simple black heels that clasped around her ankles. Heel’s were something very rare for her to wear but this was a special occasion.

Harden Aldair; Blanche’s father had made sure he rode with her but she had regretted allowing him to when she realised he was just there to lecture her. The man despised vampires more than anyone else she knew and the way he spoke about them proved so. “Just keep to yourself and everyone that isn’t a vampire. I don’t care what day it is, they are vermin and I don’t want you talking to them,” his voice was stern and as much as she didn’t want to disobey her alpha, he was also her father.

“I’m not a child anymore dad, I’ll be fine and nothing can happen. Everyone has to be civil with each other. Besides, they wont know who I am with my mask,” was her reply before cutting in again, knowing he would fight her response. “Just enjoy the full moon and when i get back we can go on a run together,” just as she finished speaking the driver had announced they were there. Instead of protesting against his daughter, Harden gave an exasperated sigh and nodded, staying inside the car as he watched Blanche slip out from her seat, the driver having come round and opened the door for her. Blanche gave her father a small smile, picking up her mask from her seat before taking a step back and letting the driver close the door she had gotten out from.

“I’ll pick you up tonight Miss Aldair,” Was all he said before moving back to the driver's seat. Blanche watched as the car left before turning to the grand mansion she had been dropped off at the front of, staring up at the building in awe. Just the architecture of the place was outstanding and she imagined what it would be like to live there. She would certainly get lost but she would also be the talk of the town. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips and she proceeded forward. Blanche didn’t want to waste any time. After all this was only for the night and at a certain point, fighting control would get more difficult. She was adamant on keeping it though and had been working hard to get to the point she was now.

Moving on to the gates ahead of her she was greeted by the ageing man that had always been there to greet everyone ever since she had started attending. Blanche had missed last year but that was out of her control. Not that it meant anything, it was just a night she enjoyed attending. It was obligatory either way. “Ah, Blanche! It's nice to see you this year,” the man said. Blanche smiled warmly at him, “It’s nice to see you again as well, I just couldn’t miss this two years in a row,” she said with a soft laugh before walking through the opening gates, glancing at the man that was going to guide her in. Lifting the mask to her face, she fastened it behind her head before adjusting her hair a little. Blanche had spent so much time on making sure her curls were flawless and didn’t want something as simple as her mask to mess it up.

Blanche’s eyes trailed over every aspect as she was guided into the ballroom. All the intricate decorations and details proof that someone had spent a lot of time setting this all up. The bar wasn’t of much interest to her and she was ready to mingle but still, she headed towards it to get herself a drink nevertheless. What was a party without a drink? With her head held high and an elegance to her walk, she headed over to the bar, placing a hand onto the counter as she did. “What can I get you?” the bartender asked with a smile, his eyes travelling over her body. She couldn’t help but smirk a bit, she had a big ego at times and knew she looked good tonight.

“Just a white wine, please,” she replied, turning her back to the bar and leaning against the woodwork as she took a look around. There were a lot of people here already and she couldn’t help but study each one, ignoring her fathers wishes. She didn’t care if they were vampires or not and not once did she question it for any of them. Tonight wasn’t about that. “Your wine,” a voice said behind her and so she turned, picking up the wine and taking a step away from the bar. “Thank you,” she said, offering the man a smile before moving away from the bar entirely.

Heading into the crowd straight away with a drink in her hands was a recipe for disaster, even if it was just a white wine and so as much as she wanted to go mingle, she waited. Looking around and watching people while enjoying her drink. That was until she noticed a beautiful archway that seemed to lead to a balcony. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to enjoy her wine and pass time instead of just seeming like a weirdo standing there. As much as she wanted to mingle, she decided she would do just that as soon as she finished. Nothing was stopping her from exploring a little first.

Turning in her spot, Blanche made her way to the archway. Coming onto the balcony, her gave fell onto a woman that was already there alone, she was absolutely stunning. Taking another step in, Blanche decided to announce her presence. “What’s a beautiful woman like you doing out here alone at a party like this?” she asked with a sense of amusement in her tone. Walking up to join the woman at the balcony, she took a sip of her wine, resting the glass on top of the railing.

After a short time of leaning against the arched door and sipping on her wine, she decided the noise was too much for her. With music and loud talking, it was a combination of disaster for the sensitive ears of vampires. Mumbling a few words, she pushed herself off of the wall and made her way up the curved stairs, lifting her dress to prevent it being stepped on. Upon reaching the balcony, she took her place at the railing. Her gloved hands were rested on the rails, and her wine glass was leaned over it. The balcony wasn't too large, and was curved with no roof. Trellises with flowering plants were placed on either side. She could smell the sweet pink roses next to her, and other plants from the courtyard. The sweet smells of late spring drifted in the warm air of the night.

The moon had just risen, and the stars were twinkling overhead. Spring was her favorite time of year. For someone older than time itself, she grew to find peace in the little things. Josephine could hear the faint music and the calls of birds nearby. The railings vibrated under her hands from the music. The warm breeze ruffled her hair and her dress, sending goosebumps across her exposed skin.

She wondered what her father was doing. Being a very important man, he never had the time to see her, much less even speak to her. It hurt her deeply, although she understood the reasons why. Josephine found herself swirling the liquid in her glass, losing herself in her thoughts. She was disturbed by a man who came up onto the balcony, thankfully not the same one as earlier. He took a spot next to her, leaning over the railing with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter in hand. "Care for one?" He smiled at her, offering her the open back.

"Sure. Why the hell not?" Josephine grinned, taking one of the cigarettes. She brought it up to her lips, and he lit it for her. As he did so, she couldn't help but look deeply into his eyes. They were beautiful, a lovely shade of stormy blue. "So.. vampire?" He asked after he lit his own cigarette. "Yeah. You a wolf?" She took a long drag of the cigarette, then exhaled the smoke towards the stars.

"Mhm. Sad, you vampires really know how to have a good time." His words received a chuckle from her. Josephine turned towards him again, taking a good look at what parts of his appearance weren't covered. He had dirty blonde hair, tanned skin and was incredibly tall. Lots of people were taller than her, but this was different. She took another drag of her cigarette, and turned her head to exhale away from him. "Come find me at midnight."

That seemed to get his full attention. He turned towards her fully, resting his hand on hers. Josephine didn't cringe like she had done to the other man. "I was planning on it. See you around, pretty stranger." He threw her a wink, then put out his cigarette in the small ashtray that was built into the railing.

She watched him go, an amused look on her face. Men. Not her favorite to romantically be with, but her favorite to mess around with. At her next drag, she inhaled the wrong way and sent herself into a coughing fit. Bouts of smoke came out as she coughed, fading away into the darkness of the sky. It was a bright night, and there was no other lighting but the moon and the stars. Josephine ashed her cigarette, then crushed it into the ashtray. Smoking wasn't typical for her, but it's not like she'd decline when offered.

Even though she was alone, she didn't take off her mask. She found peace in being hidden, being a mysterious woman for one night. Then she'd have to go back to being watched and hounded by so many people she didn't know, all of them wanting her attention. That was one of the downsides that came with being royal.

Josephine was snapped out of her thoughts by a voice. A feminine one. She perked up slightly and turned to the new figure next to her, a woman slightly taller than her. She took a sip of her drink, wincing slightly as one of her fangs clinked against the glass. A common occurrence, but still annoying. She carefully looked the woman up and down, from head to toe. "Enjoying the view. What brings you up here?" Josephine questioned, arching a brow that couldn't be seen.

As she spoke, she could see the reflection of her long fangs glittering in the moonlight on her glass. Probably not the most welcoming sight, she wouldn't be surprised if the woman turned on her heels and left. Josephine took in as much of the woman as she could. Curly ginger hair, pale green eyes. As Josephine turned her head to face out towards the balcony, her jewelry all clinked together. She wore a lot tonight, her usual necklaces with a few decorative ones. The bracelets over her gloved wrists.

"I don't remember seeing you last year," She spoke up again, casting a sidewards glance towards the woman, "and I remember everyone." That was true, she was very good with faces and identifying features. It wasn't like this woman blended into the crowd, either. With hair like that, she was obviously someone to remember. Josephine turned her gaze up towards the sky. She pointed out the constellations and certain stars to herself, her mind racing to remember every single name.

Ursa Major. Betelgeuse. The Little Dipper. Those were just a few that she could see from the balcony. Ever since she was little, all the way before ancient Greece, she was absolutely infatuated with astronomy and the like. Over the years as people began to discover the stars, it only made her obsession worse. She wanted to go up to them, to touch them. Josephine glanced back to the woman, stealing small looks every so often. She couldn't help it. The woman was absolutely beautiful, the first one to catch her eye in a while.

While Josephine had many exes and flings, her actual, meaningful relationship were few. She would love someone for one night and then completely forget about them in the morning. It was a horrible habit of hers, but sometimes you just crave the touch of someone and not the commitment that comes with it. But right now, that's not how she felt. This was a woman she would want in her future.

Often times she wished that there wasn't a divide between werewolves and vampires. She didn't mind the other species too much, and found them to be particularly interesting. But any sort of relationship between one would probably end up with them both dead. Or, them dead, and her imprisoned. Josephine hated it. She never quite understood why they even started hating each other. There was a time in her life whenever they all got along, but unfortunately that time was a very, very long time ago.

A sudden hoot of an owl not too far away caused her to jump slightly, obviously startled. She was on edge here, and had been ever since she arrived. Parties like this normally were her type of thing and she enjoyed them. But this time, she just wasn't feeling it and wanted to leave. She would much rather be at home taking a warm bath and reading or something like that. Anything other than this.

Josephine reached a hand up to the back of her head, feeling in her hair for the roses in her hair. They were still there, a little crooked but there. She used her hand to adjust their positions so that they aligned with the braid more. She wasn't sure if she fixed it or made it worse, but it felt as though she fixed them. Now Josephine could smell the sweet roses on her hands, and the scent continuously wafted upwards to her.

The first thing Blanche noticed when the woman turned to face her was her eyes. Her bright and captivating eyes. She couldn't help but be in awe of them. They were so bright and unlike many she had seen before, especially under the moonlight. Blanche hadn't even noticed herself staring, paused on the last step that led up onto the balcony until a few moments had passed. Snapping herself out of it, which was when she moved beside the other woman, staring out at the sky ahead of them while recouping herself, it was unlike her. Usually Blanche would just open her mouth and talk everyone's ears off but in that moment, someone had finally made her speechless. Something she was sure other people would congratulate her on. Blanche couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her own thoughts, at least they were still as loud as ever.

Blanche’s thoughts were struck out of her by the clinking of teeth against a glass, something even she had done before. With being a werewolf, her senses were rather heightened and the sound seemed much louder than it really was. Turning her attention more to the woman before her, she listened as she spoke and soon realised the reason her teeth had grazed the glass. Blanche took a glance at the woman’s fangs. Not a bother in the world that she as a vampire and even found the reflection of them given by the moonlight rather captivating. She always had a genuine interest in the other species but her father had forbidden any communication with any one of them. There were many times she hadn’t listened to his rule and he was far from the happiest man for it.

“Drinks and crowds never mix for me, especially in heels. It would end up over me or someone else,” Blanche replied with a soft chuckle, shaking her head at herself. Confident but clumsy were the two words people would use for her. Turning back to the view ahead of her, she brought her glass to her lips, taking a sip of her drink. Not once did she even bring up the fact that the other was a vampire, not that it mattered to her. It was a fleeting thought simply when she saw the woman's fangs but besides that, all she could think was how beautiful the woman was. It wasn’t unheard of that Blanche tended to like the company of women more than men. As much as she liked the attention of men and making them want her, the only relationships she had been in were with women, not that she had had many. Her father disapproved of that just as much. He truly was a grumpy old soul that only saw room for traditional things.

Whoever this woman was, she was right. The view was outstanding and on any normal day Blanche could have happily just sat there with a good book and forgotten about the whole world. Blanche lifted her head some more as the other spoke up again, turning to face her once more. “Yeah I couldn’t make it last year, I had a few things come up,” she offered a small smile as she spoke, looking back up at the sky once more. This time last year she was in a different place. Not only was her control around full moons at its worst but her father had refused to let her go for even just an hour. Him and the vampire king had recently started fighting again around then but this year things had been quiet so far. Not that she was going to say any of that. Especially to someone whom she just met.

Blanche’s eyes soon found the moon and instantly she was locked onto it, its rays drawing her in. It was almost at its peak and still she could feel it call out to her. The pull inside her was strong, like the wolf inside her was clawing at her to let it out. That’s how it felt anyway but she had been training up for this and wasn’t prepared to let it ruin the night. Closing her eyes, Blanche took a deep breath and acknowledged the pull, letting it turn into warmth as she fought against it. The months leading up to tonight on every full moon she would fight the pull, refusing to let it consume her until she decided it was time and it began working as long as she eventually let it happen. If she didn’t, the pain of shifting was overwhelming. It was definitely more painful than if she just let it take control whenever but she would rather live with that.

The hoot of an owl slowly brought her attention back to where she was, opening her eyes and sitting up straighter while taking one more sip from her glass before turning and setting it down on the small round table by the bench. Blanche rolled her shoulders a little, feeling her joints being stiff in a few places, a common issue when she’s fighting for complete control. She couldn’t complain though, it worked to a degree. However she had noticed the woman beside her jump at the hooting and found that rather strange. She didn’t take the woman for the jumpy type but then again she did seem rather on edge. “Is everything okay? I mean, you seem rather on edge,” she asked, never one afraid to speak her mind.

Taking the opportunity to look the woman up and down fully she realised just how beautiful she was and the moon only enhanced everything. Maybe it was because it was the moon but the moon's light always made things prettier in Blanche’s opinion. Then again, Blanche had no doubt in her mind that even out of the moonlight she would be attracted to this woman, not a second thought in the world about the vampire issue. It really was such a shame the two species were at constant war. The things they could accomplish together instead would be far greater.

Watching as the slightly shorter woman moved her hand into her hair, she watched as she tried to fix some of the flowers, noticing they weren’t quite straight. When their hand pulled away, Blanche couldn’t help but notice a couple were still not quite right. It wasn’t how she was sure they started. “May I?” she asked but didn’t wait for a response and instead moved so she was behind her, lifting her hands into the woman's hair and shifting the flower's positions. The petals against her fingers made her smile some, only a woman with great taste used real flowers and the smell that filled her nostrils only kept that smile across her lips. Once finished, Blanche took a step back to look over her work, stepping forward once more simply to tweak the one in the middle before deciding it was perfect, not even thinking once that this woman may have not wanted her to touch in the first place.

With a soft smile, Blanche joined her back at the railing and lifted her hands to adjust her mask. The scent of roses filled her nose and soothed her. If she had to pick, they weren't her favourite flower but were definitely in the top three. Sunflowers were her absolute favourite but one couldn't wear them in their hair, that would just look silly. The idea of that was amusing and she couldn't help but chuckle to herself. It probably seemed weird but she didn't care. As much as she had finished her drink, the idea of going back and mingling didn't seem as good as it had when she first got there. This woman had got her eye and she would happily spend the night staying there with her. She wanted to learn more about her, knowing that beyond this night they may never speak again until next year. With a soft sigh she decided to speak up again. "This fight between our kind seems so stupid at times. Why can't every night be like this one? It would be so much more peaceful," she said, more just speaking her thoughts rather than seeking a response.

Josephine seemed lost in thought, her body leaned over the railing and her expression blank. Her brows furrowed slightly, and her fingers tapped on the smooth metal. She really, really just wanted to go home. Being here was already risky enough, it was just an assasination waiting to happen. She was a very valuable and important person, and an especially powerful person in war. Trained personally by her father, and her mother. Her mother was a great woman, even better than her father during her lifetime. Josephine frowned slightly at the thought of her. A very beautiful and kind woman, killed by a spear driven through her heart. How unfortunate that her own daughter found her body, still warm, her face twisted in an ever-lasting scream of terror. It still hurt her to think about the fear her mother felt to die alone, at the hands of her mortal enemy.

Despite that, she couldn't bring herself to hate werewolves. Not after all the experiences she had with them before the war began. They were fascinating, and she yearned to know everything and anything about them. A voice broke her out of her little trance. "Understandable. Heels take time and practice to walk in." She chuckled, gently pulling her gloves back up to her elbows. They had slipped down a little bit, and the bunched up fabric bothered her immensely.

She didn't know what time it was, but she could only hope it was nearing midnight. Josephine turned back to the woman with a tilt of her head. A burning desire formed in her stomach, a desire to learn all about this mysterious woman. It had been centuries since the last time she was so.. infatuated with someone. It was her curious nature. "Hmm. I wish you would've been able to make it, I want nothing more than to know what you look like under that mask."

Josephine grinned at the woman, her curiosity taking complete control of her. It had her in its clutches, and it wasn't planning on letting go anytime soon. She closed her eyes, inhaling the sweet air of the night deeply. A cool breeze hit her face, spreading across her cheeks and brushing some strands of hair out of her face. She was trying her absolute best to make something good come out of this night, but it wasn't quite working. She brought her glass back up to her lips, taking a particularly long sing. Her tongue poked out of her mouth and brushed over her lips, cleaning any stray blood that lingered around.

Her mind drifted back to before the war. A time of peace, where she could run freely and befriend anyone she desired. Although she was a very promiscuous woman, she still had made very many friends that she loved in a way she couldn't fathom. How unfortunate it was whenever they went to war with each other, crying in the battlefield because they had to take the lives of each other.

It left her traumatized and scared to get close to anyone, even her own species. She still had flings here and there but she never allowed herself to get attached. The owl hoot had ripped her from her thoughts again, and made her slightly more scared than the last time. Upon hearing the voice of the werewolf next to her, she offered a weak smile. "I'm okay. Just a little.. scared? Nervous? I'm not too sure of what word to use." Her weak smile turned into a sheepish one.

She had many feelings swirling around in her. There was a pit in her stomach, a pit of butterflies that begged to be set free. She wasn't sure how to set them free, or else she would. Josephine exhaled shakily and cracked her knuckles, taking another deep inhale. It calmed her a little bit. She wasn't necessarily a nervous or worried person, but tonight, she experienced feelings too great to understand.

As the woman asked to adjust the flowers in her hair, she opened her mouth to speak, but quickly closed her mouth whenever she felt the hands in her hair. She shuddered slightly, a chill running up her spine at the feeling of it. It was a pleasant feeling, just completely unexpected. Josephine closed her eyes and tilted her head forwards, allowing the woman better access to the flowers. She could feel one of the wolf's hands brush against her bare neck, sending another shudder down her spine.

"Good enough?" She chuckled, offering a goofy smile as the woman moved to stand next to her again. The taste of cigarette still lingered in her mouth, causing her to down whatever was left of her drink. Josephine snapped her head towards the stairs as she heard footsteps approaching. Sure enough, someone had appeared at the top of the stairs. She narrowed her eyes and glared at the person, and almost immediately they turned and hurried back down. Josephine turned her full attention back to the woman whenever she spoke. "It doesn't quite make sense. We have no reason to fight." She sighed softly with a shake of her head. "But.. I can make this night more peaceful for you." She recalled the woman rolling her shoulders earlier, something that could signal discomfort or pain.

Josephine moved to stand closely behind the woman, their bodies almost pressing together. She placed both hands on the shoulders of the woman, softly massaging them. The woman's skin was warm and smooth against her hands, even through the fabric of her silk gloves. "You know.. I never caught your name." She leaned forwards, whispering in the woman's ear.

Josephine knew revealing her own name would give away who she was. It was quite nice talking to someone who was unaware of her status, but she would ruin that just to know who this woman was. Her hands dipped lower in the front, fingertips brushing against the collarbones of the wolf. Now this was more her usual, flirtatious self. Her chest was slightly pressed against the back of the woman, though she didn't make any effort to step back.

Josephine moved her hands closer to the woman's neck, focusing now on the joints there. She was an expert masseuse, having learned it over the years for personal use. Soon, they would have to go back and join the party. But that could wait. She had other plans that she wouldn't leave without completing.

The wolf had single-handedly made her night better. Josephine moved her hands slightly lower to the woman's back, fingertips rested on her shoulders and thumbs on her shoulderblades. The only thing she could smell now was pine, and hints of eucalyptus. She assumed it was coming from the woman. She leaned forwards slightly, inhaling and exhaling softly. She was right. Josephine was sure the woman could feel her breath on her neck, but she didn't quite care.

Blanche’s father was well known all round and he had worked hard to get to that point. He was one of the wolves that gave them the title of monsters with absolutely zero control over themselves. He was ruthless and so full of hate, especially after her mothers death. He did however manage to keep Blanche protected over the years. As much as she felt as if he were over the top at times she was also thankful in some ways. Not many knew of her name, they knew what she looked like and that she existed but most people feared she carried her fathers brutality, little did they know she was actually the opposite. Perhaps a disappointment but she didn’t need her fathers approval and was quite independent despite being a werewolf. That didn’t mean her father tried, when she was young he trained with her relentlessly. Just with age she began getting her own opinion on it all. Even then, she knew how to handle herself and her father still made her keep up to date with training now and then but it was all training she hoped to never use.

Whenever the vampire spoke, Blanche listened to every word. “That just defeats the point of a masquerade, the masks are what make it,” she chuckled softly though she couldn’t deny the fact that she wanted to see the face beneath the cat mask that the woman wore. Every aspect that she could see right now was gorgeous and she just knew that her face would be just as beautiful. “Though if you were here then, I’m sad I didn’t get the chance to meet you then,” Blanche added, smiling warmly at the other woman. Blanche had countless friends come and go, ones she cared for and others she just kept around to have someone around. Flirting was always fun, especially with the men that gawked at her but this was different, in a nice way.

Blanche placed a hand on the railing, leaning against it with her hip a little so she could look at the woman or at the sky without craning her neck either way. Her joints all ached but it wasn’t quite unbearable yet. She hadn’t let herself shift last full moon, just so she knew she had that level of control and she could tell that that was the reason for her pain. It was manageable and enjoying this night was more important to her. It was more this woman that she was interested in now, not even thinking about going down and mingling with anyone else. Usually she didn’t fixate on people but there was something about this vampire that she couldn’t quite place her finger on. She wanted nothing more than to get to know her. Her curiosity was only heightened as they explained why they seemed on edge, or at least tried to.

She wanted to comfort the other somehow but she wasn’t sure on what to do and couldn’t quite figure out what was making her so anxious. It seemed like the vampire didn’t know either but maybe Blanche was wrong and that they simply didn’t want to say. She respected that and offered back a gentle smile. Taking a moment to think about what to say, she normally didn’t even think, words had always come naturally to her but right now it was different and she couldn’t figure out if it was because of the moon or because of this woman. “Maybe you need another drink,” she mused, winking at her with a soft chuckle, deciding to just try to lighten the other woman's mood rather than anything else.

It seemed to work a little or maybe it was something entirely different but still, she seemed slightly calmer and to Blanche that was a win, even if it wasn’t because of her. The goofy smile she gave once Blanche had finished with her hair had her laughing softly and nodded. “Sorry, I couldn’t help myself but you did a pretty good job with not being able to see the back of your head,” she chuckled, turning back to face the balcony a bit more, glancing around at what was around them once more. The moon was a little higher than when she last looked but she made sure not to look at it too long, not wanting to feel that pull again. She wasn’t sure how long she could keep resisting under its moonlight but not looking at it helped and so she kept at that, looking everywhere else.

That was until the sound of footsteps also caught her attention, glancing over to the newcomer with a much kinder gaze than the vampire beside her. Simply by their scent alone she could tell he was a werewolf, she could always sniff out her kind, as strange as it was they all seemed to have a woody scent in some way. She hadn’t met enough vampires to know if they had the same. The woman with her however smelt devine to Blanche and whenever she moved, a waft of vanilla and wildflowers filled her nose. It reminded her of all the meadows she would come across and just sit, a good book in her hands. It was peaceful and it soothed her in a way she couldn’t describe. There were rare times she could just be calm and relax, not that she minded so much but occasionally her social battery did run out.

The male had turned and quickly left, leaving them alone once again which she was glad for. Something quite unlike how Blanche usually was with people and that confused her but she didn’t dwell on it. Her attention was back on the woman with her as soon as he was gone, catching a glimpse of the glare she had in his direction, causing her to chuckle a little. “So that's why he left in such a hurry, you scared the poor guy off,” she said with a laugh, clearly amused by it and not a hint of any judgement in her tone.

Blanche raised a brow at her next choice of words, not that it could be seen with her mask over her face. She was about to turn when she watched as the vampire moved behind her, curious as to what she was up to but quickly stopped in her tracks as hands made their way up to her shoulders. At first she stiffened a little, not expecting the new touch but soon enough she melted into the feeling. A small shudder travelling up her spine. As unexpected as it was, she couldn’t help enjoy it. Blanche hadn’t realised just how much she ached until some of it began getting relieved. The message was definitely appreciated and the whisper in her ear only made her shiver more. Cold was a very rare feeling for her, being a werewolf gave her a lot of body heat and this only made her warmer. She felt the same feeling she would get as a child when she went too high on the swings at the park and could only describe it as butterflies. The effect this woman had on her was unlike anything she had ever felt and didn’t want it to stop.

“I don’t either of us caught each other's name,” she replied in a soft hum, the pain in her shoulders practically melting away. Blanche was thankful that her back was to the vampire and that the sky was already dark despite the moonlight that gazed upon them as her cheeks were the place she felt the most warmth and was sure they were a bright red. It wasn’t easy to get this wolf to blush, as much as she enjoyed others advances it wasn’t normal for her to feel the same for them. “It’s Blanche,” she added after a few moments, leaving out her last name for obvious reasons but hoped that it wasn’t a name this woman had heard before. Not that many if any vampires would have. Those that had learnt of it previously were hunted down by her father or someone with orders by her father.

Despite the silk gloves, the feeling of fingers against her skin only added to the warmth and in that moment she didn’t want it to stop. It had been so long since she enjoyed being touched by another. Feeling their chest press up against her back slightly, Blanche couldn’t help but lean into the touch, pressing them further together without so much of a thought. It was as if they knew she ached and couldn’t quite figure that out. She didn’t think it was that obvious but she was clearly wrong. Yet, she was glad. This was all a welcome feeling and it had her wishing that they weren’t a vampire, just so this could go beyond just tonight, knowing that as soon as they left it would be over.

Swallowing a little she pushed those thoughts away and focused on the moment instead. She wanted to enjoy however little they had of this night while they could. Thinking about things so negatively would just ruin it and take it away sooner than she wanted. The soft breath against her neck managed to take them away completely. Blanche’s breath hitched in her throat at the feeling and her eyes closed, relaxing impossibly more. “This is the best massage I’ve ever gotten,” She said with a slight chuckle, somehow feeling awkward for saying it in a way. That awkwardness simply melted away like everything else had and instead she stood there, basking in the feeling and savouring it for as long as she possibly could. Inhaling deeply as she did so and letting the vampire's scent swam her nose. Much like how the woman had mentioned always remembering a face, she was similar in a way and a familiar scent was something she could never forget, managing to place people she knew from quite a distance. Though she was sure this was the wolf part of her, she was glad for it.

Josephine hummed softly as she worked, expertly moving her hands to the right spots. As the woman made a comment about the point of the masquerade, her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. "I'm a little too impatient for the waiting part." She stated, furrowing her brows. The moon was now high overhead, casting its light on the two of them. The faint music coming from downstairs had turned into what sounded like a love song, and she felt the strong urge to dance with the woman. Despite them being total strangers, she felt comfortable. "Trying to get me drunk?" She joked, shifting her weight slightly. The roses on the trellis were softly illuminated by the moon, casting shadows of their petals on the floor of the balcony. The vibes that climbed up the trellis swayed ever so gently in the breeze, as if they were dancing with each other. She couldn't help but admire the back of the woman, the way her body curved and the way her hair cascaded down.

Josephine brushed some of the woman's curls out of the way, admiring the softness of them. For a moment, she wondered about how the woman was feeling. Being at some party during the full moon, especially as a werewolf couldn't be a good feeling. From previous lovers, specifically werewolves. She was very familiar with the ways of the ancient wolves, but not modern ones. Perhaps they were still the same? "I have no choice but to come here, it's necessary to maintain good reputation for us vampires." She spoke, the thickness of her accent varying slightly throughout her sentence.

It was a little hint of her status that the werewolf may have picked up on. A familiar scent hit her nose, and she immediately snapped her head back towards the stairs. There was nobody there, yet she could smell and sense them. It was the scent of one of her friends, a lovely vampiric woman. Perhaps she was watching from the shadows. Eliana, her friend, was known for her ability to blend in with the shadows. She was near impossible to spot unless you knew what you were looking for.

Just in case Eliana happened to be there, Josephine gave a little nod of approval. She loved the woman so dearly, and they had been friends since childhood. Of course, they had very many fights that caused them to dislike each other, but they always seemed to come back together in the end. As the woman spoke about her job at fixing the flowers, she chuckled. "I pride myself in perfection." She turned her head to face the trellis, debating whether she should take one of the roses or not. They were a soft pink, and the ones in her hair were a crimson red. It could add a lovely touch of color, but she wasn't sure it she wasn't to.

"I don't like interruptions.. especially when I'm with someone like you." Her tone was sweet as she spoke. Josephine took one hand and adjusted her mask, lifting it up slightly to move it around. She noted the way the woman had stiffened at first, but eventually relaxed. The moonlight shimmered on her clear, pale skin. She could see the way it danced on her own arms. Vampires were often known for their beauty, and she certainly reinforced that idea. She knew she did, and she took full advantage of her beauty.

"Seems as though we were both a little too caught up in things." Josephine hummed as she gently brushed more hair out of the way. Upon hearing the name of the woman, her blood ran cold and she stopped any movement. It was so.. familiar. She had definitely heard that name before, and not in good context. "Well, Blanche, you name is very fitting. Beautiful name for a beautiful woman." She cheekily grinned, but it quickly faltered. Perhaps Blanche wouldn't recognize her name? "I'm Josephine." She breathed out as she spoke, her same nervous demeanor returning momentarily.

It vanished just as quickly as it returned whenever she felt Blanche lean against her. The werewolf was vulnerable in her arms, Josephine could do whatever she wanted. Her eye twitched slightly as she gazed down at the bare neck of Blanche, intense vampiric urges coming over it. It was so sudden she almost got knocked off her feet. Josephine shook her head and resumed what she was doing. She gently dragged one finger across the back of Blanche's neck, feeling for any stress knots or anything of the sort.

She commonly got them, and knew how good it felt to have them relieved. Josephine glanced in front of Blanche, then turned her gaze to the moon. It was captivating and she was unable to look away from it. She remained this way for a little while before the enchanting voice of the werewolf drew her out of her little trance. "When you're as old as I am, you pick up a few useful skills." She smiled, stopping her movements. She now just rested her hands on Blanche's shoulders, reluctant to take her hands away from the warmth. The song downstairs changed to one she believed was meant for slow dancing.

An idea popped into her head. Josephine stood straight up, taking one hand off of Blanche to fix her dress. She gently pulled it down, smoothing out where it bunched up at the waist area. In one swift movement, Josephine steadied Blanche and spun her around in her arms. She gazed at the masked face of the woman, admiring what little she could see. The moonlight reflected off of the owl mask, and shimmered in the pale green eyes of Blanche. It was absolutely mesmerizing, a sight she couldn't ever tear herself away from. The faint music was sweet, it was soft and peaceful.

Josephine couldn't help but smile down at Blanche. Midnight was nearing, she knew that by the slow songs that had been playing. Slow dancing was always left for last. It has always been that way, to give people the opportunity to share a moment with someone before time was up. She knew this would be the last time she would see Blanche until next year, if she even attended.

That was okay. It was nice to have experienced such a thing, and experience such a wonderful woman. "Care for a dance?" She gave a gentle smile, not waiting for a response. Josephine pulled Blanche close to her, one hand rested on her waist, her other hand reaching for hers. She laced their fingers together, a goofy smile still plastered on her face. There was a certain gentleness to her demeanor, one that usually didn't make an appearance. She was relatively good at slow dancing, but this time she would actually be the one guiding. In the distance, she could hear faint chatter above the soft music. A small songbird flew overhead, choosing to perch on one of the trellises.

Josephine gently pulled Blanche even closer so that they were pressed against each other. Her mind was only focused on the wolf in her arms, and nothing more. She didn't even think of the man who offered her a cigarette earlier, he was completely erased from her mind.
