- Frostyhills24 -

Name: Frosty

Gender: Female (She/Her)
Role: Wild Dragon
- About -
Frosty tends to wander dangerously close to the human-infested lands but has yet to have an encounter that causes issues. She is overall a very independent female who lives on her own without a clan. She is able to handle her own fights and has no issues with food. Although, she doesn't have any hatchlings, so, therefore, she doesn't have to worry about the needs of others. Unless someone was to enter her life and she would need to start caring for others.

you do not have to use a picture for your character I just love drawing my Oc's and have them on hand

Frosty Pov: 1st Person

I woke up before dawn, as usual, my cave was lit up by the collection of crystals that littered the walls. Most of the beautiful colors that littered the walls were quartz and bits of sapphire here and there, with black opal leaving gaps in the quarts. The cave mimicked my scales and I felt right at home in my den. My nest was full of pelts that were given to me as offerings, the outline of the next was just rock but the pelts on top made it soft and fluffy.
I rose to go to the area I kept my leftover food and water, the cave I lived in wasn't just one, but a cave system. I was lucky enough to find a cave with a natural spring in it, no five but the freshwater was always nice. I walked over to the stream and took a drink, father down was a deeper part of the stream where I kept my food so if I had leftovers other dragons would not smell them. I pulled out some leftover deer and munched on that before I headed out. I decided I would watch the sunrise over the kingdom, I haven't done it for around 5 moons now. I =left the cave and took a nose dive off the cliff instead of wasting energy to raise my wings and take off like that. My wings filled with air and I quickly rose back up into the sky again climbing higher and higher to get into the faster air above the clouds. It allowed me to restrict my wing movement and save more energy. I remember that being something my father taught me, it was a dangerous task to try and get up here when I was barely 10 feet long, now I easily fly up here at 50 feet.
The sky was clear and no other dragon in sight and none to be heard. I quietly dropped out from above the clouds and searched for my usual perch. Once found, I got comfortable and watched the sun rise exactly across from me, the kingdom started to become busy. A bit too busy for my liking, as if there were a lot of chaotic things happening inside. I lay down, staying low but still watching what's going on below. I realized it would be a bit difficult to slip away, there might be issues with a neighboring kingdom so if I'm unlucky I might get mistaken for their dragon. My thoughts were cloudy and I started to get distracted and become unaware of my surroundings.

I wrote a lot just to get a good starter, you do not have to write this much

Name: Gehenna

Role: Tame Dragon

Appearance:

Gehenna is a fairly large dragon, but not bulky. He's muscular and lithe, very quick and agile. His scales are mostly black, but on his wings, the colors fade in a radial gradient from black at the base to dark red at the ends. His eyes match his wings, a startlingly deep shade of crimson that seems to swirl around his slitted pupils. His flames are also scarlet, and are incredibly hot, able to melt steel in seconds.

His wings are seperate from his front limbs, attached just behind his shoulder blades. He has long, razor-sharp talons, meant for slicing and cutting. He has a set of horns on his head that jut backwards, and two more smaller horns just below.

Personality:

Gehenna embodies dignity and honor. Many mistake him for a cruel beast based on his appearance, but he is not that harsh. He is merciless in combat, but will give his opponents a fighting chance to survive. He can be a bit prideful at times, but that's normal for male dragons of his size. He respects those that deserve it, but his respect must be earned, and it is by no means an easy task.

He was hatched in captivity and raised to be a human's dragon. It has been deeply ingrained in him that he must respect and submit to them, and although he has a burning spirit of dragon's pride, he has always seen them as his masters, especially his rider.

My ears twitched as I hear the high-pitched whistle my master used to summon me from my cave each morning, and I sat up with a cavernous yawn. The whistle sounded again, and, grumbling, I stood up and marched to the entrance of my cave. I spread my wings and took off from the opening, launching myself skyward. My cave was built into the side of a structure the humans called Dragonroost, an appropriate name, but a little on the nose. The entire compound was build on a mountainside almost fifty miles from the nearest city, and Dragonroost was the area the dragons rested. It took up most of the space on the mountain because, well, dragons are large and need the space.

I was still relatively new to this area; my rider and I had only recently been transferred from halfway across the continent, so as I searched for my rider, I took in the layout of the Rider's compound below me. Just to the west of Dragonroost was a fair-sized complex of buildings and structures, enough that one could call this a town, if they so chose. There were fifty other riders stationed here, making this the largest base of operations in the country. The town stretched down the North side of the mountain, extending across the plains below. Hundreds of people bustled about their lives, not even stopping to admire the magnificent black dragon soaring above them. People were used to dragons here, but it would have been nice to see their expressions of awe as my wings stirred up the air around them...

I heard the whistle again and pinpointed my riders location. Even from this height, I could see the disapproval on his face for my delaying. He stood on a massive wooden landing, an area large enough for several dragons to occupy at once; impressive in size by human standards, barely passable by a dragon's. I swooped down and landed gracefully in front of my human, making him stumble a bit from the air flow created by my wings.

Ronan Henrickson was his name. He was a skilled rider and a talented operative in the Rider Corps, which was one reason we had been transferred to the Southern unit. I liked to think that it was because of me, though; after all, who wouldn't want me in their unit? As I stepped up to my human, I lowered my gaze to avoid his. He was a large man, heavily muscled, his face decorated with a massive beard that ran down to his chest. He always carried around a war axe that seemed to large for him, yet he wielded it with practiced ease.

Ronan stepped forward, his expression angry. Un-slinging his axe from over his back, he pulled his arm back and struck me with the flat of the blade, right below my left ear, a sensitive spot where my scales were smaller and thinner. I flinched back from the pain, my ear ringing, and lowered my head further. I thought he would strike again, but instead he stepped back, giving a growl that sounded surprisingly dragon-like. "First, when I call, you had damn well better come immediately," he said. "Second, I have warned you many times in the past to land more carefully! The wind from your wings is too strong for most humans to stand against." I chose to take that last part as a compliment. He hefted his axe and I backed away further. The hitting below my ear with the flat of the blade did no real damage, but it was unpleasant.

Ronan stared down at me, as if daring me to challenge him, but I kept my gaze down until he backed away with a nod, satisfied that I had been taught my place. As he went to fetch my saddle, I bared my teeth ever so slightly at his back. Maybe he was my master, but my respect he had not earned.

(Sorry for the delay!)

I want to cry I typed out 971 words exactly... and it logged me out so I lost all of it... I want to cry and die at the same time. (Edit 20 minutes later after calming down from rage) I don't have the energy to try and type that much again so hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna do a bad job of summing up the entire thing I tried to type.

Frosty Pov: 1st Person

I heard the sound of smaller wings flapping around and hiding behind a rock. A young teenage boy was flying with his dragon, I wasn’t as scared since the male was around half my size. I soon heard an attempted roar of aggression below, I glanced to see another dragon around the same size as the one flying around. Another teen was below but had a more “disobedient” dragon as they called them when in reality they are just more dominant. Dominante dragons are normally killed, but I feel no mercy unless they are sent to the gladiators to be killed. The dragons raised by humans were “bred” to be tame and docile. It's like comparing a wolf to a dog, same language, and the same bloodlines, but just completely different. The tame dragons have different breeds, and it just depends on how good your adaptations skills are for us wild ones. The Dominants are the only ones who would ever stand a chance, it means their instincts are still strong. They may need to be shown how to do it, but only once. The teenager on his dragon noticed me and started flying my way, so I flew up. It would make it easier to set him aflame, I raised the spins on my back as a warning. He wasn’t listening and nor was the dragon, poor souls, I opened my mouth and it began to glow blue. Then I heard larger wing beats, after setting one flame off to the side as a warning shot saying not to follow, I took off. Bolting away and headed to a nearby lake instead of my cave, in case if they followed they wouldn’t know where I sleep.

I waited patiently, standing perfectly still, while Ronan got my saddle on, making sure each strap was set good and tight, holding the blasted thing firmly against my scales. A couple other dragons and their riders emerged onto the platform and readied themselves for a morning patrol. Smaller beasts, certainly not anywhere near as magnificent as I, but they looked fast. The riders appeared to be twins. I hadn't met them yet, or their dragons; Ronan typically forbade me from interacting too much, and I really had no choice to obey, galling though it was not to be able to speak with my kind. There were worse punishments than a strike to my soft spot with the flat of his axe. I had tasted many of them in my younger days, but had quickly learned that Ronan was to be obeyed. Even if it would be easy to snap him up in a single bite now...

I tried to keep those thoughts out of my head. As my Rider, he could glimpse into my thoughts, something I thought to be quite irritating. That's likely when I began to actually submit to him; when he began looking into my head and systematically stamping out any rebellious behavior. These dragons were another matter though; I could assert my superiority without fear of retribution, so I did. One of them was giving me a nervous side-eye, so I opened my jaws and roared, my deep, powerful voice accompanied by a short blast of flame. Both dragons jumped back, wings flapping like startled chickens. I gave a satisfied grunt as their riders tried to calm them down, shooting me dirty glances, but I noticed they didn't express their displeasure to Ronan, which wasn't surprising. Ronan gave a slight nod of approval. "Good, show these lizards what a real dragon looks like," he said. I did not reply. I honestly would rather have made friends with them... after I established my dominance, of course.

Ronan nudged my side roughly with his heel, the sign to take off. I spread my wings and pushed downward, creating a wave of downward thrust that generated enough wind to make even the two dragons stumble. I lifted upward, flapped my wings once more, then again, until I was airborne. I took a dive off the side of the platform, then swooped upward, zooming around to the East side of the mountain and flying toward the rising sun. Momentarily, I glanced back to see the other two dragons fly off in another direction. A sharp blow from Ronan's axe made me look forward again. Shaking off the sudden pain, I picked up my pace, soaring through the sky like a dark thunderbolt. Before too long, we spotted another dragon and its rider. Ronan urged me toward them, but as I flew, another dragon appeared. It was white and blue in color, and although I was a bit far away, I could tell it was a female. No Rider. As the dragon with a rider tried to fly away, the wild dragon let loose a burst of blue flame, then turned and took off.

I kept my eyes on the fleeing wild dragon as Ronan slowed me, hovering while he communicated with the other Rider. It wasn't the first wild dragon I'd seen, but seeing one was rare enough that if I could, I would stop to study them as best I could. I'd always wondered what it was like to be out there, no riders, no humans, just myself. I don't think I'd ever flown without a human on my back; Ronan had always been there. I wondered what it was like... I was shaken from my thoughts as Ronan nudged me again, urging me after the dragon. "We're going after it!" he shouted over the wind. I was a bit surprised by that, but as the other rider took off toward the mountain, I accelerated after the wild dragon. She was fast, but nothing I couldn't handle. She was out of sight, but it didn't take long for me to spot her again. I put on a burst of speed and began to close in on the wild dragon, Ronan urging me to even greater speeds.

(Oof, that's no fun at all)

I was out of breath, I relaxed my muscles while on the beach sand. The sand crunched underneath me every time I barely moved. I decided to get a drink of water and slowly made my way over to quench my thirst. The water was cold and refreshing, not many humans came to this water and ruined it. Farther down the shore was a pack of wolves eating a carcass, we made eye contact. A few raised their heads recognizing that I was there, but then they scattered. I raised my head from the surface of the water, droplets falling from my mouth. One of the, more significant, male dragons from earlier was approaching, like the wolves I tried to hide. My coloration made it nearly impossible to camouflage against the trees, I doubted the fact I could outfly him. My best bet was hiding, I darted through the trees coming across a cliff adjacent to mine. There was a cave entrance at the base, I headed in after there was no scent of danger. I hid in the top part of the cave, most dragons never look up. All I was doing was hanging on, there were definitely enough ledges for me to shift to. The entrance was large enough for me to drop down and bolt out of by flying. It was cold, I loved it because it kept me on edge. I heard the large wing flaps, and I held my breath. I was upside down, and most of my strength was going into holding myself up. My stress levels were through the roof, I hated bigger dragons, not out of spite, but because they were intimidating. If cornered obviously I stand my ground but I would rather fly away.

I lost sight of her for a little bit, which was a bit irksome, but nothing to worry about. I could still smell her scent on the wind and followed it easily. It led me toward a picturesque lake, one that I thought might be a nice place to visit later, if for some reason Ronan decided to let me have some time to relax, which seemed rather unlikely. I landed near the water's edge, the wind from my wings kicking up a great cloud of sand. As the dust settled, I began walking along the trail thoughtfully left behind by the wild dragon.

The scent trail led me through the forest to a cave opening that was large enough for me to go in without much trouble, although I'd have to take care to duck so Ronan wouldn't get struck down by the rocky ceiling. I first did a quick check to make sure the wild dragon had not doubled back and gone a different direction, leaving me to search the cave in vain, then I stepped inside, crouching down. Both Ronan and I looked around diligently, ready to fight, which would be tricky in these close confines. The smaller dragon would have the advantage of being able to move easier inside the cave; I'd much prefer an aerial battle, where I could move freely and use my far superior agility in the sky to outmaneuver this dragon.

Her scent was strong and fresh; she was definitely in here. I felt a nudge from Ronan's axe and glanced up at him. He was surreptitiously looking up at the cave ceiling, and I immediately realized what he was looking at. I looked upward to find the white and blue wild dragon clinging to the ceiling. I gave a short roar and let loose a burst of my crimson flame, warning her to come down.
