Human Description:
Travis is a beast of a man which did him favors during his service. His build is powerful without being exaggerated, carrying the sort of strength that comes from survival rather than vanity. Broad shoulders taper into a lean but muscular frame. There is a heaviness to the way he holds himself, however, as though that strength carries a cost. His skin is an unusual muted gray-brown, almost stone-like in the dim light, but it is interrupted by striking patches of glowing amber scales scattered across his shoulders, collarbones, and face. These markings resemble embers trapped beneath the skin or molten gold cooling into scales. They appear brightest near his eyes and throat, though they tend to cover every square inch of his body in little patches. The most immediately noticeable features are the horns curving from his head. They are deep crimson, smooth and polished like dark garnets or dried blood, sweeping backward through his thick hair rather than outward in aggression. His hair falls in untamed waves of chestnut brown, curling around his ears and neck in a way that softens an otherwise intimidating appearance. It looks perpetually windblown, as if he spends more time beneath open skies than beneath roofs. The messiness of it contrasts sharply with the sharp architecture of his face.

At the age of 18, Travis joined the military in an attempt to escape his abusive household. Though what awaited him would come back to bite him. The young man served his time and his country, using that untamed fire and aggression into something more useable. However, during his service, he noticed a sharp decline in his health. At first he believed it could be attributed to his rather unhealthy drinking problem. Though after nearly a year of doctors visits, tedious testing, and invasive questioning, Travis was diagnosed with a terminal illness, linked to his service. With only a year or two left to live, Travis decided to search for a treatment. He wasn't entirely sure why, but knowing he was dying gave him the will to live for the first time in his life. Little did he know, that treatment would come at a cost.
