Cassandra stretched and walked outside, the air was warm and she knew summer was coming. Cass was two years old and was going to desperse soon. Her black fur was thick but her body was lean and strong. She was worried about the future but mostly about her father.
Her father Storm was getting old, he was going to be 7. He was a good alpha but was growing old, he couldn't stand anymore and laid in the cave dying. His mate named Aroura was already dead. she had died after giving birth to the new litter of pups. He was lonely and Cassandra knew that he would soon leave the world and she would need to leave the pack of Obsidian.
Storm coughed and when Cassandra walked into the cave where her old father was dying she stopped dead, there was the smell of blood in the air. What in the world?! she thought and ran to Storm's side.
" Father! Oh god oh god!" Cass whined. Storm coughed and blood pooled out of his mouth. " Cassandra... listen to me my daughter... When you find a mate you must find one who is loyal and smart, and don't forget kind and caring. You need to make a strong pack... but you must always be careful when hunting. Only take the weak, and don't be greedy. Don't under any circumstances take more then you need." He was panting now and his eyes were fluttering open.
" Goodbye father... I'll make you proud..." Cass whined and her father died, finally leaving the world and then the air was still.
Cass let out a howl of grief and walked away, leaving her pack behind and heading north, outside her territory and on this day, for the rest of her life nothing would be the same.
