Full Name:
Clarisse Søle la Barone
"The Bright & Famous"
Known for her first name to suit her persona, evidently, the young heiress' forename was given to her by none other than her own mother, who was foretold by the mages of her kingdom that she was to bear a child destined for reputation among many. The name draws upon the Latin word "clarus", signifying both brightness and gleaming, and conveys a sense of brilliance and radiance. The name Søle was not chosen for the heiress until she was born, taking from both the fact that she was to be perceived as an independent individual and the fact that she would be the only child born to her mother. la Barone is her family's name, the name that has been passed down through generations of rulers, meaning "the baroness". Kind of ironic that her family has been primarily built off of male sovereigns, isn't it?
Nicknames / Aliases:
Scilla - The nickname given to her by her mother that others have simply taken on. It refers to both the town in Italy and the trouble-causing creature in Greek mythology (however, spelled differently)

EMOTIONAL PROFILE
Overview of Personality:
Clarisse often presents herself with a confidence that is nearly tiptoeing over into arrogance, with an emotional intensity that often comes as a surprise, especially given the state of where she comes from. She has a tendency toward directness and is known for her outspoken, bright- or, as her professors say, "bright"- nature, saying what she thinks without much regard for the social norms. While confident and assertive, she also has a softer side, valuing her close relationships and being kind to those she considers "below" her in the academy's perceived social hierarchy. She has an honesty that could probably be described as blunt, but it never comes out of a place of hate in her heart, as she often just states what she thinks might be better or what people could fix about themselves. Totally helpful. Bold, honest, and occasionally sweet. Clarisse seems like an angel until she opens her mouth. She has a way of making people feel incredibly special, with words of praise and awe, or terribly humiliated, deep-cutting phrases and words coming naturally to her. Throughout her years at the academy, she's grown a reputation that varies from professor to peer. Her teachers are always the ones to describe her as a bright, intelligent, youthful individual who they can see with a bright future. Always getting her work done on time and offering to help with papers or tutoring, Clarisse seems like the epitome of what a student should be. Except, she isn't. While she may be sweet and caring to some of the students at the academy, others just aren't worth her time and are often pushed around or used for her own entertainment or pleasure. Shes a manipulative little thing when she wants to be, and knows exactly how to get what she wants when she wants it.
Personality Typology:
MBTI - ESFP
Attachment Style:
Okay, well... yes, she does get attached- but will you know that she is attached to you or another person immediately? No. Absolutely not. She does an eerily good job of hiding those emotions until she knows she can trust you with them. For that reason, Clarrise often avoids getting emotionally attached to people. It's easier for her that way, to not have to worry too much about them or have to have them bug her every second of the day about how she's doing. When she's gotten attached in the past, it... it didn't go well, okay? She doesn't want to have that broken feeling drowning her again.
Defense Mechanisms:
Putting on a facade of being completely fine and holding in burning emotions until alone- or with someone she actually trusts- is a defense mechanism for Scilla, however unhealthy it is. She often goes out of her way to show that she isn't hurt or that she is "okay", leading to emotional outbursts, destructive behavior, or impulsivity that can then lead to trouble.
Core Fears:
The fear of vulnerability and abandonment, coupled with a deep-seated fear of being perceived as "stupid" or "not good enough," seems to be Clarisse's top fears. This is evident in the way she works with others and her difficulty trusting others, her reliance on a carefully constructed, often over-the-top, public persona can also show these fears well.
Personal Ethics / Moral Code:
Clarisse has a strong sense of social justice and is dedicated to fighting for equality and the rights of others. She tends to be open-minded and values her freedom, often using her principles as a guiding force for change, whether that be positive or negative.
Coping Mechanisms:
Getting away from whatever is causing her stress, relying on friends for support and comfort, and engaging in physical therapy (working out, engaging in sexual activity, etc)
Love Language(s):
Thoughtful Gestures, Words of Affirmation, Intellectual Connection
Conflict Style:
Detached and avoidant if approached by conflict- otherwise, she just tries to avoid conflict altogether. When engaged in conflict, Clarisse may focus on the "big picture" and propose unconventional ideas, often seeking to de-escalate the situation and drive the other person's mind to something else than actually talking about it.

SOCIOCULTURAL
Sexual / Romantic Orientation:
Heterosexual and Monogamous
Cultural Background:
The Kingdom of Light is far less lighthearted and calm than you may have imagined. In this kingdom's culture, power is divided solely between two opposing groups: The Ichor and The Inlets. The first group, The Ichor, are reserved for the higher social classes who are either born or married into the group. Whether that be the royal family themselves, consorts, or the nobles- they are gifted with the ability to manipulate bodily fluids such as blood, bile, plasma, etc. when they turn of age, or eighteen years old, through a ceremony called "Φωσφόρος" or "The Light Calling". The ceremony takes place on the first meteor shower of the year, usually taking place in the month of April. Members of The Ichor who have been married into the culture have the option to keep their respective abilities or become assigned to a slightly weaker ability of the originals through the ceremony.
The second group of wielders, The Inlets, are made up of the middle and lower classes of townspeople. Anyone lower than a noble is considered an Inlet unless they are born naturally with the The Ichor ability(ies). The Inlets are born with the ability to manipulate the earths fluids, such as water, magma, etc- but to a very minimal amount, which is why they are considered the lesser between the two groups.
Design within Tibaera is made up of minimalistic yet elegant designs that stands as a hallmark of the local design aesthetic. This can be seen in the simple, soft curves of the townspeople's houses or the castle walls. As far as palettes go, the Kingdom of Light goes for a natural look, with a mix of mild and lighter tones of color, nothing too bold or eye-catching. Clothing consists of simple yet tasteful pieces, whether that be a pair of pants and a shirt or a ball gown.
Religion / Beliefs:
While Clarisse isn't devoted to the religion of Tibaera, she has studied her ancestors and their religions- the same ones that a good portion of her kingdom goes along with. Her people believe in the power and the work of the celestial being, Usoi, who created their earth and provides the light to wake up and live their lives every morning. Clarisse doesn't attend nearly as many ceremonies as say, her mother and father have- but it is normal to see her consult in the noble mystic for counsel on her decisions if she should ever need help.
Other Factors:
The taboo's of her kingdom are rather simple in the eyes of most Ichor; Do not, by any means, question the authority of those in power. And that's exactly why Clarisse was so relieved to be sent away to the academy... Exactly how could she follow that rule when those in complete power are complete idiots?

RELATIONAL MAPPING
Allies / Rivals:
Romantic Relationships:
Family Relationships:
Leone la Barone︱ 67 Years Old︱Father & King of Tibaera︱Leone's relationship with his daughter was doomed from the beginning. As Clarisse was the only child that her mother could safely give birth to, she is an only child. Leone wanted a son, a "rightful" heir to his throne when he passed, and according to him, a daughter could not provide that unless she was able to marry well. Clarisse grew up with Leone's neglect and isolation whenever she didn't do something he approved of (acting out, speaking up, etc.) and therefore went through a version of emotional abuse. It didn't help that her mother didn't do anything about it, and Clarisse was overwhelmed by thankfulness when her parents decided to send her off to the academy. Thankfully, her father hadn't called her back to their kingdom since she was 18 years old... he paid for everything, but she couldn't wish more that she was born to a different man.
Viviana la Barone︱58 Years Old︱Mother & Queen of Tibaera︱Clarisse's mother raised her on two things; resilience and wit. Viviana knew that since her child was born female, Clarisse's future would be limited- especially when it came to her daughter's relationship with her father. So, the Queen dedicated most- if not all of her time to teaching her daughter what it truly meant to be an heiress, she Viviana was once in the same position as her daughter long ago. Clarisse was grateful that her mother had taken that time to accompany her... but she was enraged that she wouldn't at least talk to her father. Clarisse's mother would simply pretend the neglect from her father wasn't happening and act as though everything was alright. It wasn't. And however many times Clarisse tried to speak up about it, punishment and scolding would come from not only her father, but her mother as well. One thing is for sure, one thing did come out of that training that her mother put her through, is that she'll make sure she's never like her parents.
Group Role:
Leader, most definitely. Clarisse comes up with the plans and schemes, making sure that they are well thought out before going through with them. Unless, of course, she's feeling impulsive or emotionally unstable- then someone may need to step in and help.
Self-Perception:
Clarisse considers herself in a higher standing than others in her life. She knows she is confident and is a well-aware individual overall with a strong sense of self, particularly her beauty and its power. She portrays herself as someone who knows her worth and isn't afraid to use her appearance and wit to her advantage. She's also depicted as emotionally intelligent and observant, with a keen understanding of others and their motivations.
Perception of Others:
She sees everyone as human. But she also knows some of those people can help her in ways others can't. Whether that be emotionally, sexually, or with an educational aspect. How she acts around each person varies depending on whether or not she thinks she may get something out of them at some point. With her friends, while she may not say it, she has them because she needs people to talk to, and she knows they aren't going to tell others, so it works out perfectly. She's respectful and kinder to her professors and some peers because they can provide her with the assistance she needs to become a more intelligent individual. Those who Clarisse can't see her needing simply fade from her sight, and she doesn't pay them much attention unless they begin causing trouble with her. Then they're just asking for what's coming next. Chaos.
