~~~~~~~~ This is an rp between C rotalus Pack and Tauriel. Please do not comment if you are not either of those packs, but feel free to read along! <3 ~~~~~~~~ Plot: Protected by the Assassin: A prosperous kingdom that had a rather beloved King and Queen. They had a rather peaceful rule and made good relations with neighboring kingdoms so the trade routes were booming. The King and Queen could be secretive though. Although they were happy to face the public and mingle with their people, they had an heir they rarely spoke of and no one ever saw. They were kept safely in the upper wings of the palace. Away from all harm and away from anybody. The only people allowed in and out of the heir's wing of the palace were trusted guards and servants. One day, the King and Queen are called to an important meeting of all the rulers and must leave the safety of their home. With suspicions that someone might try to infiltrate during their absence, they called in a favor from an old friend. Asking for personalized protection for their heir. They didn't expect a notorious and skilled assassin to turn up at their door. But they had to trust that it would work out. An assassin trained to take out the very people they were about to protect. What could go wrong? When the King and Queen's suspicions of someone infiltrating the palace come true, the assassin is outnumbered and forced to resort to fleeing. Which also included literally throwing the heir outside of the palace so they could both escape with their lives. Now they're stuck working together to stay alive and try to find their way back to the Kingdom. But along the way, they might find out that their meeting wasn't exactly a coincidence. What other secrets have the royals hidden behind their glamour? ~~~~~~~~ Kingdom Information: ~ ~~~~~~~~ Character Information Below:
Character Name: Aspis Dendro Vemeria Age: 22 Years Old Gender: Female Role: Assassin Kingdom: Rogue = Does not affiliate with any particular Kingdom. Goes wherever she gets paid. ~ Appearance: Aspis has a recognizable and rather notorious appearance. Mostly due to the efficiency she does her job. She stands at around 5'7", with a slender and muscular build. Giving her a slight advantage in her field of work. Her lean stature and lithe abilities allowing for her to slip in and out undetected. With a unique quietness about her, Aspis' movements mimic almost that of a snake: silent and precise. Despite her deady nature, she has a soft beauty to her. With raven black hair that has a blue sheen in the light. Complimenting her pale skin perfectly. Cobalt blue eyes stare back with an eerie vividness to them. Sharp, naturally angled brows sit atop peircing, upturned eyes. High cheekbones and a sharp jawline make the outline of her face. Her lips are full, with a raised cupid's bow. Preferring a palette of blacks and blues to compliment her complexion for her usual attire. She is often seen wearing her typical leathers and a mask. She is usually rather wary about where she pulls her mask down at. ~ Personality: Aspis has been a warrior since the moment she could walk. She never knew who her family was, nor did she seem to much attention to the idea of knowing them. She was too busy training. Her mentor ensured she would be prepared for the job at hand. He taught her everything he could. The ways of fighting, using your given abilities to your advantage, being mistrusting of everyone, and always make sure you get paid. She'd always been observant, though. Watching people's every moves like a predator waiting to strike. She was excellent at all aspects of an assassin. Quickly becoming rather infamous amongst her travels. She grew up in isolation and when she finally did leave... well... was forced to, she never quite learned how to interact with people. Her deeply mistrusting nature partner with a prickly attitude made it quite difficult for her to make friends. She wasn't even sure she knew what a friend could be considered. She traveled often, never staying in one place for too long, went wherever her jobs took her, and always covered her tracks. Although her name and skills were always a whisper away, she was very secretive about... well... anything about her. She rarely let anyone see her face, always keeping her mask around her face. Never stayed in one spot too long. And always seemed to know when she was being watched somehow. Her time alone led her to be quite resourceful. She kind of had to find out how to do a lot of her own cooking and patching when anybody that could help her usually chose not to due to her sharp tongue. Overall, Aspis is a grouch with hardly anything outside of her job. Anytime she is confronted with having to actually do something besides stalking someone and eventually killing them, she shuts down and becomes rather defensive. She isn't even sure what she likes. She likes her knives? And her horse? But what else is there besides her work? There were always people willing to pay to have someoned killed without having to get their hands dirty. Skills: ~ Combat: She's trained to be an assassin since a young age. She excelled at her training and is a formidable fighter. Her skills rely on quick, precise, and stealthy movements. She's not the strongest fighter, but she makes up for it with her affinity for agility. ~ Blades: Her preferred weapons are a bunch of small, slender daggers. Stashed in numerous different places across her clothing. Her fighting style best matched for the diversity the small blades allow. ~ Resourcefulness: Lots of hours spent alone on the road traveling far distances would drive the need for her to be primarily self-sufficient. Sometimes she could go days or weeks without seeing a village if she was traveling a particularly barren piece of land. She had to learn how to catch and forage for food, build fires, do patches on her clothing. Unfortunately, her increased independence only seems to fuel her loneliness. Weaknesses: ~ Apathetic: Aspis can be kind of rather apathetic. She was never really taught empathy. If she wasn't getting paid, should she really care? ~ Grumpy: Aspis is in a bad mood more often than a good one. She never quite learned social skills and most often she responds with sass or sarcasm. Which makes for poor company sometimes. At least most people think so. But was Aspis really okay with this? Or does she just not know any different? ~ Mistrusting: Aspis is a deeply mistrusting person. Whether it was trained into her or she was just born with it, she wasn't sure, but she can always remember being like that. She's never allowed anyone to get too close to her, keeping her walls up literally and figuratively. Sometimes this can lead her to dealing with her own consequences though. Someone who could have genuinely helped and she turned them away could result in a worse outcome. ~ More in rp :)
●Benjamin● 21 years and 3 days ago ( first person prospective) I don't remember pass the day I was born but my mother and father keeps remembering what when on before I was born, so my parents Elizabeth and Jonathan who are my kinda favorite parents bought a castle when they moved from Mexico to England it was a pretty place bit old and rusted, they never told me how they got the king and queen title but why should I care, anyways back to the house, it have about 5 bedrooms pretty big one of course the west bedroom is mine unfortunately but it has a big kitchen in the basement with couple more bedrooms and a office, the main floor has a living room, family room, a dinner hall , and a small room for breakfast. Then you got a office my parents master bedroom, and about two bathrooms, there is three bathrooms upstairs one is in the west wing, then you have a pool house and a garden house. Oh you can't forget the man cave near the office, there is about 2 library on the main floor and the other on the west wing, that all i know about this place since I don't get to leave my room often we do have guards and maids working for us, oh course we can speak Spanish and we usely use it if we are in trouble or worst in dangerous situations that no one knows how to get out - (Peasant) It was a bright sunny day like everything was as Benjamin woke up to the sounds of the maids cleaning or to the bird chirping out the window but what mostly woke him was his alarm that was going off,Benjamin gets up and walks to the bathroom to take a quick shower before his father busted into the room to talk to him about something important king Jonathan said " Son i need to speak to you i know you being trapped in your bedroom or the whole house it unconvent but it for your own safety and your mother and I feel that you are unhappy " Benjamin sighed and said " you got to be joking you care that I am unhappy when I still have to be trapped in my bedroom no one even knows I exist or what " Jonathan sighed and said " they know you exist son we can risk you life to have someone do something real stupid " Benjamin rolls her eyes as she gets out of the night grown and gets dressed before saying "when are you going to realize i need to be out and about to talk to people " Jonathan said " i know but right now is not a good time your mother and I just wants what best and you have fencing practice with you friend anyway" Benjamin said " yes sword play just what every man want to go do " as he grabs his coat and Jonathan said " just keep your head high my son " as Jonathan walks out and heads downstairs Benjamin looks outside and sighed going out to see the town and the people would be amazing but being stuck in the tiny place it like being stuck in a cage chained up. Benjamin walks out and looks at the guard and said " come I want to go to the library " the guard nods and follows behind him quietly as Benjamin heads into the room and towards a row of book on the small desk he place it there. Elizabeth peeks her head inside fhe library and said " there is my favorite son " Benjamin said " favorite more like their cage son " Elizabeth sighed and said " you father told me what you said to him " Benjamin siged and said " now you know how I feel can I go back to studying now " Elizabeth sighed and said " we are just trying to keep you safe my son nothing else " as she then looks at him then leave the room Benjamin looks back at the door disappointed that they through his own guards can't keep him safe in this place - ( sorry about the very long post )
The early morning light casted long shadows in the trees. The muddled dirt path beneath slowly revealing all its blemishes. The horse's hooves rhythmic underneath, leather squeaking in a similar harmony. A rider sat atop the deep black mare. Clad in dark colored leathers. Practical and snug close to her body. A hood attached to the cloth fabric of her tunic draped over her head. Casting a dark shadow over her face. A mask, of similar leather material, looped over her face. Sitting right across the bridge of her nose and over her cheeks. The only thing visible on her face was her piercing, cobalt blue eyes. The thud of dirt underhoof quickly turned to the clink of stone as the path merged into a graveled road. Which eventually turned into a hard stone road. The road leading the way into the Kingdom of Acosta; Where she'd been summoned by a raven's letter a few days prior. The kingdom was already bustling with early morning activity. Merchants setting up shop, farmers tending to their livestock, blacksmiths warming up the forges. There was already lots of foot traffic too. Which helped for blending in, mostly. A few stray glances caught her eye here and there. No doubt curious what a hooded, masked stranger was doing here. She really wasn't sure either, but she made a promise. Her horse came to a stop at the gates outside the Castle walls. Where the royal family lived, the Acostas. Well, a royal family. There were some everywhere across this hunk of rock. She peered down under her hood as a guard walked up to her. His hand hovering over the hilt of his sword as he approached. Clearly cautious. Aspis couldn't help a roll of her eyes. "State your business." The guard gruffly demanded. "Here on orders." Aspis snapped back. Her hands moving to pull the letter from her satchel. Earning a jump and a glare from the guard as he watched her movements. She ripped the letter from her bag and handed it out to the guard. Who snatched it from her hand and retreated back a step to read it. His brow furrowed, but otherwise, he remained expressionless as he scanned his gaze over the letter. After a moment, he stepped closer to his peer. Showing him the letter and murmuring to him. "How many guards does it take to read one letter." Aspis grumbled. Adjusting her seat in her saddle and grimacing slightly. She'd been riding for nearly three days straight, she wanted to get down. The guard only gave her a glare as his response. Moving back over to hand her the letter back. "You may enter. But we'll be watching." He snorted. Aspis tucked the letter back into her satchel. Batting her eyelashes at him, she reponded in a very sarcastic voice, "I'd expect nothing less from a man with his sheath strapped on backwards." With her farewell, she picked her reins back up and her horse began moving forward. A glimmer of amusement playing on her expression as she heard the other guard begin laughing when the guard who'd questioned her realized his sheath was on backwards and was rushing to fix it. It was another short walk up to the stairs of the castle. A lovely and ornated stone building with decorations upon tapestries upon art. A lady was waiting at the door. Clad in a professional looking dress, she seemed like she was patiently waiting. Although an uneasy expression washed over her for a moment when Aspis came into view. She cleared her throat as the assassin stepped down from her horse. "Miss Vemeria? The King and Queen have been expecting you. They thank you for arriving so cordially. I am Celine and will be showing you the way." She offered with a strained smile. Aspis raised her arms and stretched upwards. Pulling the muscles in her spine and shoulders and staying in the stretched position until they felt slackened. Relaxing her stance, she noticed a stablehand walking up. Asking to take the reins of her horse. She was hesitant, but surely they wouldn't do anything to harm her horse? They were the ones who'd asked her to come here. Aspis stood in place for a moment, watching the stablehand lead her mare off towards the sound of other horses trumpeting. It felt like a long time before she'd turned her attention back to the tall woman, Celine, she'd said her name was. Without much acknowledgement, Aspis began climbing the stairs. Celine seeming to take that as an answer and turned back to allow them both outside. Aspis was lead down long corridor after the other, up one staircase and another. Just when she thought they were close, Celine had to stop and exchange a password with a guard to allow them access to an entire other wing of the castle. This is where the Acostas stayed is what Celine had explained. The King and Queen had kept their only heir locked away, due to fear of his life. Aspis casted her gaze around the environment. It was clean was the first thing she'd noticed. She probably stook out like a pumpkin in a cornfield after being on the road for weeks. Celine's tour finally ended in front of the king and queen themselves. Dismissing herself and introducing Aspis to them all in one breath. Aspis had to bite back a snarky retort, focusing on keeping her composure in front of the king and queen. She straightened her back up and held out the letter they'd sent. "I recieved your letter. Rhion would want me to accept your proposition, so I am here." She didn't convey any emotion. Didn't pull her hood back or her mask, just stared at them with an eerie vividness to her gaze. Awaiting their respones. What were they even thinking? Hiring an assassin to protect their son? She's usually hired to kill people like that. What could go wrong?
All through out the time Benjamin could hear his mom and dad bark orders to the maids and guards just to make sure the place was clean and Benjamin was still in the library then his own room cause they know not to bother cleaning his room if Benjamin was inside it, Elizabeth was ordering the kitchen staff to get meals ready for the up coming guest that she hear was coming from a friend of their in order to go to the meeting, Elizabeth was talking with Jonathan and said " i don't feel comfortable haveing a new person protecting my son what happens if they don't do as will " Jonathan said " i know sweetheart but it the only choice we have in order to keep him safe from what ever this is and I understand how you feel " as he pats her hand before leading her down the hallway towards his own office before stopping in front of the girl and Jonathan said " oh so your the person my friend hired to keep out son safe " Elizabeth was fiddling with her hands softly like she does when it come to nervousness even through she looks normal before Elizabeth said " nice to meet you I am queen Elizabeth and this is my husband king Jonathan its been a pleasure to have you here " - Benjamin was still busy studying the ancient history of Rome not if he need it he just likes how it was put together and it was something he spend his time doing and even writing history was also he fun hobby but since what ever was going on his parents he stopped, as Benjamin walks to a bookcase he noticed how the guard was acting outside the glass door and frown wondering if there was danger or if someone just enter the castle and every alert was up, Benjamin sighed before walking back to the table and sat down with a heavy book things with a lot of codes and Rome dialogs as he scans the pages softly he slowly reads a spot as he grabs a notepad and wrote it down people say their son was probably a boring person anyways but instead he wasn't knew everything in history or even what to do if there was someone after him since he did sword play with some of his guards friends - Jonathan said " you might want to meet him our son Benjamin or you call him ben if you want to we can show you the way to him " Elizabeth nods softly as she moves to the side like she would normally as her husband takes over the situation of this mess or what ever was going on just to protect their son and keep him safe
spis watched with an uneasy expression. She didn't let them see her full expression, but the furrowing of her brows over her cobalt blue eyes was enough of an indicator. She listened with an unsettling quietness as the king and queen briefed over some things. She still couldn't quite comprehend why she'd been summoned here on protection orders. But, Rhion had told her that someday the king and queen would contact her for an important task, and she could not turn them down. She'd usually never defy Rhion, but the longer she was inside the castle walls, the more she debated it. "You might want to meet our son..." The words echoed around her as she padded along behind them. Her boots making hard thumps on the floor in contrast to the light click of their royal slippers, or whatever it is they wore. She wasn't sure about the customs the royals upheld. They led her to another area, the entry to a library. The amount of maids and staff bustling around had dwindled tremendously after she'd passed through the large, imposing doors. This entire wing of the castle seemed to be blocked from the rest of... well, everything. Windows were here, but thick, textured glass didn't leave much visibility. Inside or out. On one hand, this seemed like an impenetrable fortress, but on the other, she couldn't find any escape routes. If this wing of the castle was invaded, they were trapped here in this little box. Like fish in a barrel. The doors to the library creaked open, revealing a cozy little spot. The walls adorned with book cases that were stuffed with all different kinds of tomes and scriptures. Ornated wood tables with cushioned seats were in the middle. A large bay window was at the end of the room. The one window that they could partially see out of. It allowed plenty of natural light to come in for reading, and overlooked the rushing river that sped past the back of the kingdom. At one of those tables was, or she presumed at least, the prince. The one she was about to swear to protect. Her face was still mostly hidden from the mask and hood, but her eyes were watching him. Like a snake watching from the bushes. She waited for the king and queen to finish up anything they were saying before she spoke up herself. "I'm Aspis Vemeria." Her voice was smooth, almost like a quiet hiss. She wasn't sure about this. She had an idea on what she was supposed to be doing, but something wasn't adding up. Rhion, the King, Queen, all were being kind of cagey. Were they expecting an attack to happen? She was going to do some investigating once she was allowed to roam. Although, she was probably going to be required to stay near the prince, but in this fortress, how could he get far?
Benjamin looks up from the book and stares at the girl before saying " why do you wear a mask over your face " as he wasn't the nicest person since the only people he chatted with is his parents or the guards as he still was looking at her before his father said " she is is to keep a eye on you " Benjamin said " but ain't that what our guards do " Jonathan said " yes but it like your own personal bodyguard " Benjamin said " great " as he sighed before looking back at his book like he was disappointed about this deal, . Jonathan said " don't worry Benjamin hasn't had people to talk with and he hasn't been out of the place since he was born so he doesn't know how to act " Elizabeth nods and then Benjamin said " and since you know my parents they would have told you my name already so feel free to make your self at home " as he pointed around at the chair and Jonathan said " we should let you two get to know each other " Elizabeth nods as they left fhe room Benjamin just going back to reading the book he had in front of him. . Jonathan was walking and talking about the upcoming meeting with Elizabeth before they talk about the new bodyguard and and hopping their son would at least be nice to her and not so cold down the maids didn't tend to listen to the queen and king conversation but they also was curious about the new girl or who ever she was bodyguard I guess
