Sonoma looked into the sand as Mel drew, seeing the precise shapes and layout of the building as she went. I guess it makes sense for humans to build a whole manner of things for living spaces. Take advantage of what you have and work with it. "A beach house huh? Must be a really nice place to live in. I actually live in something that you humans built, funnily enough. It's this big boat; rather long and has all of these things on the top pointed in different directions. My friends and I tried to figure out what it was, but we couldn't understand what it was. They always did have these..." Sonoma closed his eyes to concentrate for a brief second on what the objects were. "These things beside them: a bit long and built sturdily. Has a can-like shape that eventually comes to a point, and had some wording on the side of it. 'Do not drop or expose to intense heat. This will cause the shell to explode, causing death or serious injury.' I can't imagine that being a shell though... weirdest shell I've ever seen. Sometimes a few of them were inside, although I don't find that method of holding items to be effective." He stopped to realize that he was rambling on, so he quickly apologized and let the silence take the air for a moment. "So... do you have any other questions? I'm not going anywhere any time soon."

((This is going to be short because I'm trying to get back into writing but I have no clue where I'm going with this)) Listening to his description of his home, it sounded like a military ship. Possibly missiles too are what he's talking about. Mel tilted her head a bit when he apologized. She hadn't minded, Sonoma seemed to be enjoying talking. "I can't think of any other questions. Do you have any for me? I saw you looking quizzically at my feet earlier."

"Hmm..." Sonoma tapped his fingers against the sand as his mind wandered in regards to what questions he had to ask. He knew that he always had a load of questions, but now he had nothing when it counted. "I'm curious... how do you humans come together and find mates? We merfolk have our own ways, but it's been quite some time since a human and merfolk have gotten together. Also..." He pointed to the clothes she was wearing. "How do you make those? Oftentimes we just work whatever we can collect in the waters and fasten that into clothing, and I can't immediately tell what kind of materials went into what you are wearing right now." He motioned to the shark teeth necklace as an example of what he was talking about.
