Noctem looked back to watch the other wolves begin to flock around the hole they had dug, but he noticed several of them having trouble. Whenever they tried to cross, they would yelp in pain and go back. What was happening? Noctem walked closer to the fence and noticed that the wolves with collars were the ones having trouble. Glad I stayed hidden, he thought. Fortunately, they began to figure out how to get the collars off. Noctem turned around and saw Rose laying on the ground, covered in mud, her paws bloody. Noctem realized he was probably in a similar state, but he ignored the filth in his pelt and sat down in front of Rose. He began cleaning off her paws, licking the mud and blood off as gently as he could. "You alright?" he asked.

Kayori would listen to what the elder said. She would do exactly he instructed. Kayori would finally get the collar off within a few tries. She would shake her pelt so the flattened down part went back to normal. Kayori would look at the other wolves getting their collars off. She would back up a bit, sitting down waiting for the others.

MoonBeam watched as Kayori took her collar off. Picking up on what the elder had said, MoonBeam decided to go next. She had gotten her collar wet and wedged it against the root as far as she could get it. She then pulled back as hard and quickly as she could. "Get off already! I want to go out without being hurt." MoonBeam thought. She had probably pulled back about 11 times. Then, it started to become looser. MoonBeam yanked on it about 7 more times until it finally slipped off her neck. She shook her fur until it felt normal around her neck again. She got out of the way for the next wolves to take their collars off. "Thank You." MoonBeam told the elder as she bowed nicely. She then took off as fast as she could toward the hole. Once she was outside of the fence, she felt free. She then sat down and let the wind blow her fur around. "Free" was a feeling she longed to feel again ever since she was trapped inside of the terrible enclosure. Finally having escaped, she felt it again. It felt like her parents were right beside her even though they weren't and would never be again. MoonBeam just felt happy to finally be out of the horrible place. She never wanted to go back there and neither did any of the other wolves.

Rose was somewhat aware of the other wolves around her, although she barely paid any attention at the moment. She focused on staying awake. It was over 32 hours since she last ate and her stomach ached, it felt as though it was closing in on itself. Her mouth was parched, dry as the mountains she used to live in back home.

Rose jumped a little as the male wolf....Noctem was his name, started to help clean the dirt and blood off of her paws. Wincing as he licked over the fresh wounds. Lifting her head she slowly nodded at him "Yeah I'm all good" She said as her eyes focused in and out. "We need to get these wolves as far away as possible and fast," She told Noctem as she struggled to get up. Pushing up onto her paws Rose gave herself a quick shake which resulted in her head-turning fuzzy and it being hard for her to focus on the male wolf in front of her. With a deep breath, she was able to focus on him and smile. "see all good"

As many of the wolves stopped yelling, Red-Star uncovered his eyes. The wolves seemed to be taking their collars off. "I hope they are all ok. Hopefully, they all manage to get their collars off alright." Red-Star whispered to his sister who'd gotten her collar off just moments before. Red-Star was hopeful that this new life would be great just like his old life before coming here. He also hoped that some wolves would stay together, maybe creating a pack. For some reason, he thought Katie would make a great Alpha. She was caring, kind, helpful, brave, and many other things. Red-Star and Katie had a great friendship. It was very strong. Red-Star had made other good friends like Kayori, MoonBeam, and Noctem whom he was really just getting to know still. Red-Star only really heard Noctem's name and considered them friends. It was fine though. As long as they all stick together after this. Then, after thinking about Katie, Red-Star wondered what had happened to her. "Katie?! Where are You? Has anyone seen Katie?! Hello...Katie?" Red-Star called out as he walked around. He hoped Katie was alright.

"They'll be fine getting their collars off little bro. Everything will be okay!" Black-Sun said. She knew that as soon as the wolves hurried up to get their collars off, they could finally leave. She was anxious to leave and hoped that no wolves would get left behind. "the bigger the pack, the stronger the friendship" Black-Sun echoed in her mind. Her dad always used to say that. She missed him. Speaking of missing somebody, Red-Star got up and started to call Katie's name. "I think that he may like her. Hehe." Black-Sun giggled to herself. She was glad that Red-Star cared about somebody enough to look for them. He would usually just sit back and wait until they come unless they're part of his family or he REALLY cares about them. Black-Sun just watched him trot over asking wolves if they've seen Katie. Deep down though, Black-Sun hoped that she was okay too.

Noctem raised an eyebrow at Rose, but gave her a half-smile and nodded. "Alright," he said. "I'll stay back and make sure everyone gets out." Noctem turned aorund and crawled back through the tunnel, not worrying too much about getting his fur dirty. It was already absolutely caked in mud; it definetly couldn't get any dirtier. He emerged from the hole on the inside of the fence and looked around to see who was still inside. There were still several wolves inside the enclosure, so Noctem raised his voice. "Everyone who's got your collars off, start making your way out!" he said. "I'll keep watch for humans. If I howl, either scatter, or get through the tunnel as fast as you can!" Noctem looked around to make sure everyone had heard, then walked back towards the compound where the humans lived. He sat down nearby and watched the doors closely, ready to give the signal should it open.

Kayori heard Noctem and got up. She would quickly run over to the wall and start going through the hole. After she got out she shook her fur getting off all of the dirt. Kayori would sit down on the other side waiting for all of the other wolves. She would be watching the hole carefully, waiting. Kayori was happy that she funny got out of that hell hole. She would glace at her new friends, happy that they would all be ok.

Alaska stood with the group of wolves, thinking of ways she could be useful. Then she had an idea. Careful to avoid stepping onto any wolves, she jumped down into the hole and jumped up back into the enclosure standing defensively in front of the hole.
