Brontes | 468 | Male | Dragon | Lyn Class | M: Jasper Hovering in the sky the large dragon could see the panic coursing through his target. Faint murmuring reached his ears, seeming to be coming from the puny thing. Brontes was about to make a move when the human unfroze and ran for cover, straight into a small rocky crevice. In its hand was a sword, the violent weapon only served as a reminder to the dragon of the long war fought between man and dragon. But fortunately, it didn't seem as if this human would put up a fight. Screeching he dove for it, claws outstretched but the girl ducked inside, leaving him scratching furiously at the stone. His Jaws opened to reveal rows of sharp teeth he tried to stick his head inside, snapping his jaws in an attempt to reach his lunch. The dragon began wondering if all this effort for a tiny scrap of meat was truly worth it, and he began to weigh his options. He had come all this way on instinct, and something told him he should give up trying to get to this human. With another attempt, he flashed out his frills and let an intimidating growl out. Eyes wildly scanning for the human he could not reach, Brontes backed up and launched himself at her again. But no sooner than he reached her did that annoying tug at his heart pull once more. He dropped to the ground, snorting electricity as his chest tightened, a force nearly pulling him to the human. The dragon let out an ear-splitting screech before his voice was silenced. A wave of calm washed over him, eyes widening, and heart-pounding the tug in his chest turned strong, though the pain that had accompanied him throughout his journey was gone. As was his desire to eat the pitiful human sandwiched between the rocks. Warily he flapped his wings as he felt an internal click of some sort go off, and suddenly he focused his attention back on the girl in front of him, intently looking at her from where he now sat. Waiting for her next move.

Jasper Sterling | 16 | Female | Rider | M: Brontes -
The dragon scratched wildly at the rock trying to get Jasper. It snapped at her trying to get an afternoon snack. She stepped back and grabbed tiny pebbles off of the ground, she knew they wouldn't do much damage, but she didn't want to actually hurt the beast with her sword. The dragon growled and Jasper felt her insides shake, "Oh no, oh please no!" She panted as the beast launched itself at her again. Jasper clutched the tiny pebbles in her hand and she sat practically paralyzed in fear. - What am I doing? She thought, I can't just stand here and die! She watched as sparks of electricity flew out of the creature's nostrils. Jasper reached down to draw her sword, but she stopped went the beast let out an ear-splitting screech. "Arg!" She collapsed on the ground covering her ears as the screech rattled her brain. Her left ear popped and her right ear did to. She felt her eyes water and her ears started ringing like crazy. Finally the dragon shut his snout and was quiet, Jasper shakily got up. She was dizzy and the world around her was muffled. Her head felt like someone just slammed her into a mountain. She used up the all of energy she had and she leaned against the rock wall. - Even though it was quiet, Jasper sensed that the dragon was still there. Probably playing games again, she thought to herself, but how can I know for sure? She sat still in silence waiting for anything to happen, "Draaagon...?" She called softly, "are you still there...?" Her throat tightened and she drew her sword, dropping the pebbles in process. The pebbles clattered when they hit the ground below, echoing across her hiding spot. - This by far is the stupidest thing I will ever do. Jasper got up and peeked her head out her hiding spot, I rather die from a good fight then die being sandwiched between rocks. After a quick peek, Jasper walked out looking around for the beast. Oh man, he's a lot bigger than I imagined! Jasper felt her legs turn into rubber, she felt so small and puny compared to the humongous animal. "Heeey buddy...," she said backing up slowly, How am I still alive? Her sword glistened in the sun and she stared at the dragon, looking directly into his eyes. I could strike him, make him fly away maybe? That couldn't work, dragons are usually known to be stubborn and relentless, she stood tense ready to run. Plus it won't make me look good if I kill a dragon then try to become a rider, she joked to herself, but deep, deep in heart her heart she knew she would never have the nerve to hurt such a magnificent creature.
- Jasper charged at the dragon holding Fate above her head, but a tiny voice coming from her heart tried to stop her. "He won't hurt you," her heart spoke firmly yet calm, she continued running towards the dragon. "Put the sword down," Her heart said sternly. Jasper tried to fight it but her heart was too strong, she gave in and dug Fate's blade into the earth's crust. Edited at January 30, 2023 04:49 PM by Not Debbie

Kereska | 309 | F| Dragon | Lyn class | Mentions: Corin Kereska had been flying for days, and her strength was beginning to wane. She’d been trawling the islands near Onaron, chasing rumors of an ancient dragon burial ground when she stumbled across a small group of humans. Much to her surprise, upon spotting her they had been friendly. While Kereska had been unsuccessful in recreating the strange vocalizations the humans used, over the years she had picked up a good amount of their written language. Thus, by writing in the sand the humans were able to tell her of a strange new phenomenon: a dragon and human had become bonded somehow, the barriers between their minds melted away like frost under the sun. In all her centuries spent pursuing the lost history of her species, Kereska had never come upon so much of a whisper about such an event. When she asked the humans where she could find the bonded pair, they named a town she’d never been to before: LaFord, a place far inland and deeply forested. Though they attempted to give her directions, dragons don’t see the world the same way and before long Kereska was hopelessly lost above a sea of green. She longed for nothing more than to land, to rest her tired muscles and drink an entire lake’s worth of water, yet some intangible force kept pulling her on. The strange instinct tugged on her, compelling her to dive down from her preferred flying height until she was zooming along just a few feet above the trees. Unfamiliar smells and sounds bombarded her senses, making Kereska long for the comforting rasp of waves on sand and salty sea air. Just when she thought she couldn’t flap her wings another time, Kereska saw a break in the canopy. Unpracticed as she was with landing in forests, Kereska’s arrival was extremely clumsy. Rocks and dirt sprayed into the air, and trees crashed to the ground as Kereska knocked into them while attempting to get her bearings. She roared in frustration, the sound much more muffled than she was used to it being. As Kereska took in her surroundings, her gaze snagged on a human male who stood just at the edge of her circle of destruction. As her yellow eyes met his blue ones, a shock of electricity shot through her. As a Lyn class, the feeling wasn’t new, yet something about it felt different this time. The tugging sensation she’d felt since setting out for LaFord intensified, and Kereska took a step towards the man, flicking her tongue out to take in his scent.

Corin Wren - 18 - Male - Rider - Mentions: Kereska
Corin hadn't taken more than ten paces from the tree before something crashed in front of him.
As dirt and rocks flew into the air, and the sound of trees falling, or more like being knocked to the ground, the young man startled so bad he nearly tripped over his own feet, adrenaline flashing through his system almost instantly. Edited at February 11, 2023 03:11 AM by the Wayne pack
