I was asleep whenever the girl came into my stall, breathing slowly yet steadily I smelt her. Opening my eyes only a small ways to see her, I stood up and stretched, yawning to. Turning my head sleepily to her I gave a grumble. I had been sleeping and she had woke me up, I wasnt mad just...tired! I shook my head and my body gave a light glow, warming me. Licking my lips I looked at the girl again, wanting to see if she had brought any snacks...

Jasper reached in her pouch and pulled on and old piece of cloth. She handed the cloth to Kate, " For your face," she smiled, " Aithusa seems to be a little grumpy." She countinued to scour the stables. They were reaching the last of the stables when her eyes landed on the bold letters reading , Maggot.

Jasper excitingly grab the door and quietly pulled it open. Looking inside she saw scratch marks all along the inside of the stable, but no dragon. Wait-. There was a white outline of a dragon and two glowing eyes seemed to be floating in mid air. "A dark dragon," Jasper whispered in awe to Kate. The dragon snarled at them, as Jasper opened the door a little wider so she could see better. "Hello Maggot," Jasper cooed.

Maggot watched a young girl pull open the door to her prison.

She must be my trainer, Maggot watched in amusement, Who's the girl behind her? Ha! Bringing some extra protection? Pathetic. "Hello Maggot," the girl cooed, " I am your trainer." The girl smiled and stood at the door not attempting to pet her or feed her spoiled meat. Maggot stood still flexing her talons.

Max removed her hand from the dragon's side, not wanting to annoy the creature, that would certainly not be a good way to start the school year. "I'm your new trainer," she said, somewhere in between the way you would to a human and a beloved dog. She analyzed the dragon, noticing that he was now watching her she hoped was curiosity and not something darker. Noticing his tongue she cocked her head slightly, "Hungry?" she asked with interest. Who was she kidding? Dragons were always hungry. Max allowed her eyes to leave the dragon as she took off her backpack and began to rummage through it. She knew she had packed dragon-worthy food somewhere.

Eventually, her hand emerged grasping a fistful of bacon. Another dragon she'd ridden's favorite.

Tentatively she outstretched her palm, "This alright?" she asked hopefully. She hadn't ridden a fire dragon before and hoped that this was an appropriate snack.

Isa slowly reached out a hand towards icicle. He seemed to accept her so she quietly unlatched the door to his stall and stepped inside.

Kate grabbed the cloth that Jaz handed her with a grateful look. After she dried herself off Kate spoke, "Thanks. I should probably invest in one." Kate laughed before following Jaz through the rows of stalls and dragons. As they were getting to the end of the stalls Kate finally saw the bold letters saying Magot. Apparently Jaz did too since she opened the door excitedly. Kate came closer but she stayed behind Jaz. At first Kate didnt understand as she looked around for Magot but when Jaz whispered, "A dark dragon." Kate understood. Just then she spotted the two glowing eyes of the dragon as the dragon growled a bit. Kate stepped back a bit. Sure she was a good fighter, but still, fighting a dragon?! After the dragon calmed down a bit Jaz talked to Magot but Kate just took another step back. Kate wanted to speak but she didn't dare as she stared at the invisible dragon.

Blue smiled as the girl giggled. I like this girl, Blue thought before nuzzling the girl. He then turned to his trainer. Sure he didnt really like her but he had to make do with what he had so he nuzzled her too. And then as if he knew what she was thinking, he blew some frosty air at the two girls. It frosted their face a bit but it was a friendly gesture.

Kina watched as the wyvern nuzzled her sister. Seems all dragons love her.. Maji smiled and gave the wyvern a small pat on the cheek, and then he turned to nuzzle Kia. She stood there as he nuzzled her, a bit surprised. Out of my five years here, none of the dragons ever did this- She made a small smile and quickly changed her expression back to the normal boring blank. Then, Blue suddenly blew some frost out of his mouth. They both stood there, and then her sister started to giggle a bit more. "Well, he's and ice wyvern!" Maji said and started trying to get some of the frost off of her face. He's very friendly... Why didn't they let someone newer try to train him? We had many new students this year...

Jasper had to admit, she was terrified. But she stood her ground knowing not to show any fear. She knew that you should never show fear or weakness to a dragon, for it will probably be the very last thing you do. Jasper held her hands in the air the show she was innocent, " My name is Jasper," she cooed to Maggot. She reached into her pouch grabbing some bits of deer jerky she snacked on for lunch. She gently place it on the ground and started to back up. WHOOSH! Jasper then found herself on the ground covered in hay. Looking up she saw Maggot unsheathed her talons and started to approach her.

Swiping Jasper's feet with her tail greatly amused Maggot. The look of horror as she scrambled to get back on her feet was totally worth making contact with this human. The best part was the fact she was trying to hide her fear, which was useless because Maggot could smell fear. Maggot was absolutely entertained! She started slowly walking towards Jasper as her feet slipped on the hay below, struggling to get up. Plus the AMAZING smell of the jerky settled in her nostrils which overpowered the other odors of the rotting hay and fish that has been left in the sun for way to long.

Kate watched as Jaz tried to tame Maggot by talking and grabbing some jerky. Kate hoped it would work but something told her that it wouldnt. Kate's suspicious were confirmed as Jaz came falling to the ground. Kate flinched a biy but stood back. She had to do this on her own. Kate stopped that theory when Maggot decided to come closer to Jaz who hadn't got up yet. Without hesitation Kate jumped infront of Jaz with a random stick she found on the ground. It probably accidentally got swept in here from all the kids. Though Kate wasnt thinking about where the stick came from, she was only thinking about protecting Jaz. "Leave Jaz alone. Besides you have to go through me first." Kate held the stick out like a sword as she faced Maggot.

Blue practically smiled when he saw Kina smile. Maybe she just needs love, Blue thought, now happy he got Kina as his tamer. I can help Kina not be so mean! Blue thought excitedly. Just then he saw Maji trying to get the frost off of her so to help, Blue licked her face, getting the frost off. He then did the same to Kina.

Kina eyed the dragon after it smiled. What is going on in his brain right now..? Why is he smiling? She watched him start to lick her sister's face, and she laughed as he did it. I would not be comfortable having a dragon licking me like that- Right then, he stopped licking her sister and started licking her. Gah! Is he a mind reader?! She thought squeezing her eyes shut as he proceeded to lick her. "How about you go start becoming friends with your dragon, Maji?" She said and looked at her.

"W-without you there..?" Maji asked nervously. "I'm not sure-"

"You'll be fine... If you need me, just yell for me. Dart's stable isn't far away from Blue's." Kia reassured her.

"Alright... I'll go..." She said and walked out of the stable towards Dart's, slowly. About time she grew up...
