Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Skylar, Silver Not even an entire day in and he was already done. He had so many regrets. Listening to Jasper about going to the stupid school, he should've listened to his brother/cousin and just done his own thing. He wanted nothing more than to just leave. Up and leave. Skylar's words made no sense to him and Layne wanted nothing to do with him anymore. He was entirely certain that he'd do something stupid the next time he saw that kid. Leader or whatnot, he didn't care. The other girl did absolutely nothing. Layne's sapphire eyes lifted, clearly unamused, as she snapped at the two fleeting figures and then realized he was new. "Piss off," he finally gave the loosest introductions and instead just snapped back at her. His hands clutched his backpack straps before gesturing toward her and then back to where Skylar had walked off to. "You're probably one of them as well--not that I understand. Apparently the itty bitties with the biggest egos are in control and honestly, I'm too angry to even think right now." His wings ruffled again, loosing different colored feathers. "Try again, later. And next time? Maybe you should figure out what's going on before snapping at everyone like a lunatic."

Lyka|F|Fire Leader|Power- Animal Shifter, Fire controller|M: Open "Hey, leave Skylar and Silver alone!" I snarl, stalking quickly over to glare at the winged kid. A fire student. He was in so much trouble now... "I'm Lyka, your Fire Group Leader. What are you doing?!" I stop, staring at him accusingly. Edited at February 29, 2024 11:37 PM by Broken Rivers

Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation| M: Layne "A- A Lunatic!?" Silver stuttered a bit taken aback. "Least I'm not going around picking fights with the group leaders on the first day-!" She huffed as she crossed her arms across her chest, attempting to regain whatever composure she had left from the callout. Her hair fell back down to its normal resting place, the last of the heat subsiding as she threw her hands up, turning away. ° "Alright, alright. Fine, be that way mate.." Her voice began to trail off as she turned away, picking her satchel back up from the back of her chair when she reached the classroom before leaving again, making her way down the hallway without another word as she slipped a hand inside, grabbing out the last biscuit left in her wrapped napkins as she set about cooling off a bit. 'What the actual hell was that Silver. It's not like they were even arguing at you. This lot can be so exhausting..' She thought to herself as she rounded the corner out of sight, carrying on down the schools many corridors as she began to wind her way back towards her dorm room. ° Her fingers rustled about in her pockets as she struggled to grasp the key to her dorm door, fumbling around as it seemed to jump from her reach. A string of cursed flowed from her lips until she finally gripped it, harshly ramming the key into the door as she unlocked the door, kicking it open. ° The room was still dark from her sudden and rushed departure earlier that day, the curtains still blocking out the sun as she made her way to her messy bed, flopping down onto it on her front, her face colliding with her pillow as she let out a muffled scream. Her hair flared brightly for the duration of the scream, waving wildly before falling back in a small puff of smoke. ° 'Boys.' She thought as she shook her head, gazing up at the curtain as she contemplated opening it, but decided to leave it be as she continued to lay there.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Lyka A single eyebrow raised as he glanced idly toward the new young kid who decided to go and snap at him. There was a slightly unhinged challenge in his expression, exhaustion mingled with a growing fury. Dawson was definitely right. Layne was already regretting coming to this forsaken place and he was figuring out why Jasper really enjoyed this place. Layne stood at a solid 6'2" with broad shoulders but not a whole lot of meat on his bones. He had a rather impressive core--which one needed to fly--but even still as he squared his shoulders and his wings slowly began to raise upward--the young man presented a rather towering figure even over the Fire Leader. The blond girl was a solid four years younger than him and thought she could go and snap at him?? Now? After everything that had happened? "You're no lead of mine," Layne hissed out through clenched teeth. "If you were, you wouldn't be doing this. Right now? I am leaving. Those forests would be hell of a lot better than this right now," he gestured to the group of students. He shook his head. "You're defending some bully of a kid, you're like... what, twelve? I have been here for a solid ... six hours and already I've had my shirt burnt through--" Layne gestured to the charred hole from Skylar's palm, "and then bullied because I snapped at him for good reason!" Layne tore the backpack off his shoulders and threw it on the ground. "I'm getting out of this place before I do something stupid," the young man turned on his heels, shoving past Lyka and stalked down the hallway, leaving a trail of feathers.

Lyka|F|Fire Leader|Power- Animal Shifter, Fire controller|M: Open "Well fine then!" I shout after him, shifting to a tiger and lashing my tail hard. "Idiot." I mutter, stalking down the hall, wondering what I should do. I have to do something before I start shredded something. I'm usually not this mad, but him disrespecting me AND my boyfriend really wrecked my mood. I sit down in the hall, glaring at a wall.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Open The twisting hallways gave him a headache. Layne had no map, it was probably in the mess of a backpack that he had dumped behind him in the hallway. But up, overhead, there was an open window. It took him approximately two seconds to open his wings, another thirty to launch himself up, a minute to shimmy through the window and out of the building. The feeling of air rippling through discolored feathers was a blessing. It sent chills through his spine, goosebumps along his skin as he simply soared. Soared. The air was freeing, the forest ... tempting, even if it was slightly frightening at the same time. He let the flight around the school grounds carry him until he finally took a slight downward spiral, slow and careful before landing on the grass just outside the school building, nearby the windows. As he usually did after a flight, Layne slowly dipped into stretches, making sure the muscles weren't strained.

Silver | Female | Fire Student| Energy Manipulation| M: Layne Silver lay face first in her pillows as it grew harder to breath, letting out a huff as she turned to rest on her cheek as she allowed herself some fresh air for her lungs. The headache hadn't really subsided by much, perhaps from the heat, or stress.. perhaps dehydration? There were too many possibilities, most of which always applied to her one way or another. She lay there seemingly paralysed as her body felt exhausted, her fingers barely grasping at her bedside table as she haphazardly dragged the top drawer open, skimming her hand around until she heard the unmistakable sound of foil. ° Triumphantly, she yanked it free from her drawers messy contents, pulling towards herself a small tray of tablets. Panadol. Relief from the throbbing in her head. She ran her fingers over the tray as she pressed up on two of the spaces, catching the tablets in her hand as she took them dry. ° As she began to sit up she heard a small flutter outside her window, large wings flapping nearby. Curiously, she peeled back the curtain a smidge as she squinted into the bright day outside, the sun's light alone causing her headache to flare up a bit. She watched on as she saw the boy from earlier easing into a soft spiral as he set to land on the grass outside the building, her anger welling up a little from how he had spoken to her earlier. 'Lunatic.' She spat the word to herself under her breath as she let the curtain fall back into place, blocking out the sun as she leaned back into her soft mess of a bed. ° 'To be fair... You did yell at him too.' Silver argued the point to herself. 'But he was causing such a racket. Him and Skylar.' She rolled her eyes as she recalled the argument. The volume. The bickering. Gods, they may as well have been an old married couple with the teasing, and the bickering and the yelling- ° Silvers mind ran blank as she closed her eyes, heaving a long sigh as her fingers raked through her hair. "But he's new. He's probably as confused if not more than I was first being here. And those two can't have helped things.." Her words were little above a whisper, the air in the room swallowing her words as they remained heard only by her. Golden amber eyes rolled as she picked herself back up, shrugging out of her school wear and slipping into her usual outfit of her ripped black leather jeans, her white long sleeve croptop finished with her black leather jacket over top. She fidgeted a bit as she slipped her sneakers on, doing well to remember her key as she slipped out of the room, heading outside to where Layne had begun his stretches. ° She felt her cheeks warm up a bit as she thought about what she was actually going to say to him. They didn't have the best first impressions and she was sure he'd still be holding a bit of a grudge from the whole ordeal. Shoving her hands in her pockets she made her approach. "Hey...! Newbie.." She softly called out, not wanting to upset or anger him further. The last thing she needed right now was more reasons for her headache to worsen before the pain killers could work their route.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Silver At the least, the stretching had worked out some of the frustration that had welled up inside of his chest and he finally just sat down to start fixing his wings, some sort of laying each feather flat and collecting the shedding feathers in a different pile. His... entire chest hurt, not just his heart. But the voice that spoke to him sparked just a little bit of frustration. 'Newbie' that was already old. But, as he lifted his sapphire eyes, a touch of emotion crossed his face. To be fair, he hadn't exactly given her his name. Silently preparing himself for another lecture, Layne slowly stood up. His weight rested on his good leg, looking up toward Silver as she made her way toward him. "Layne," he finally said his name. "Layne Marie." Despite wanting to say several questions, Layne figured he'd let her speak first. She probably had something she wanted to say first... and he'd let her go first.

Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation | M: Layne Silver gave a small weak smile that only very slightly curled the corners of her lips. "It's uh.. good to finally put a name to the face.." She half mumbled as she couldn't bring herself to look him in the eyes, her hands still settled inside the pockets of her jacket as she rocked back and forth between for heels and her toes. "You uh. Seem like you're having... Fun?" She said with a slightly raised pitch of voice towards the end, not wanting to make assumptions but most definitely not wanting to irritate him further. She was doing her best to create conversation with him, allow herself some time to figure out if he would be up for talking or perhaps if it may be best to leave him be. ° She felt herself beginning to sweat a little as she let out a small sigh, finally bringing her amber eyes to meet his sapphire gaze. "Look. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for lashing out at you earlier.. It wasn't my intention I was just frustrated and knowing how Skylar can be..." Her voice trailed off into a bit of a whisper towards the end as she gave a small roll of the eyes. "B-but! I know you're new! And that definitely, probably.. maybe, wasn't the best way to introduce you to the school.. So, I apologise." She finished up her small and very awkward apology, her cheeks already a bright red as she physically cringed at her words, thinking over how weird she may have just sounded. ° 'You could've said alot worse things. I'm sure it's fine.' She convinced herself as she slightly shook her head, clearing her mind of any thoughts that sought to tell her otherwise.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Silver Layne dropped his gaze and sat back down to continue preening at the large wings along his back. There were a lot of things he could say in response to what she had just said but he just sighed in return. Anyone could see that it wasn't the best way to introduce anyone to the school. His expression reflected that thought, his nose crinkled in frustration before he tried to relax. Layne finally let out a small noise. "If that's how they both are, all the time?" His eyes drifted up toward her face. "I can't blame you. What ... what are they leaders of anyways? Their imagination? I can't imagine anyone actually following them--they're like twelve." He scoffed and shook his head. "The saddest part?" Layne glanced back up as he ruffled his wings once again. "I should've listened to my brother and not even showed up. He told me I shouldn't have even come here... and he was right. Geez," Layne rubbed his face and sighed, gathering the feathers in his hands. He stood awkwardly for a moment or two, looking toward the ground. "... well, no one's proved him wrong yet."
