To his delight Callio was quickly able to find some fresh rabbit droppings and tracks, and quickly started following them, subconsciously staying downwind of where they appeared to be heading. He probably reeked - he hadn't had time to properly rest and take a bath in days. He scrunched lower to the ground, tail coiling as he came closer to a clearing. His pupils dilated eagerly.
There's the little sucker. A plump rabbit, a couple of them actually, milling around on the opposite edge of the clearing. Nibbling delicately on the grass for a moment before raising their heads to watch for danger. He smirked, eyes narrowing in focus. Easy meal. Pulling his crossbow out as silently as he could, he took aim, lining the large weapon up where he needed it to be. It was still not easy to use yet. Too bulky and heavy in his hands, far more substantial than the wooden one he'd been forced to leave behind. But if he could just land a hit, the venom would finish the little creature off. He put his finger on the long trigger, just about to shoot... Edited at February 26, 2022 06:15 PM by Finnick

She heard footsteps and smelled something weird. She stopped, and listened. She heard nothing. She continued walking faster, but silently and cautios. She seen a couple of rabbits, and her stomach rumbled. She made a giant briar surround them like a cage in a way, so they couldn't escape.

What was that smell? It was knew? It was yet again, human yet strangely distorted, her head jerked around, searching for the source and her eyes caught movement in the lonley trees above. "Shade... Mika..."

A cat streaked out in front of his crossbow the instant he pulled the trigger. It missed the foolish animal by inches, hitting the tree behind the target with a heavy thunk. Callio swore in frustration, slithering stormily out into the clearing to tug the sturdy bolt out of the tree trunk.
"Stupid cat! Then again, they've always been bad luck." He huffed to no one in particular. He'd have to keep moving and hope to stumble across some breakfast later. After all nagas, like snakes, were able to survive on the occasional large meal, rather than having to eat every day. But he'd been traveling so long that he could feel his reserves running low. Not like he'd had much fat to begin with. An underlying tinge of anxiety threatened to break through, but he shoved it back down into his gut. He'd be fine. He just had to make it to the East. He'd be safe there, or at least that was the hope. Maybe he could just buy some food instead of fighting with the neigborhood strays over some half-pint rabbits.
