Juni It's coming to the point, I wish she could go be my cousins problem for a while
Junipero
@Enigma Yeah it is. I also deal with OCD and AN (which are terrible pairs) and I have looked for treatment for a while but feel like giving up sometimes. I wish it was more accessible because genuinely some people can't leave their house because they're also trapped in their mind.

Enigma problem is, my brother is the driver. If he decides we aint going, we aint going. :(
Junipero
@Key That's a valid thing to think. It's very complex when a loved one is dealing with that; it affects the whole family. I truly wish the best for you and your gran and the situation you're in.

@Juni Yeah, it's tough :( finding a therapist is such a pain in the ass and we're both super busy. @Eden In any situation it's important not to go along with someone's irrational thoughts. I regret getting involved with my partner's OCD, I thought I was helping her by going along with her obsessions. She found out I could "bless" stuff and it would stop her from doing the compulsions, so now I'm trying to remove that from the ritual

I dont know how to feel about this but my grans getting worse. I dont want her to die but I wish for freedom.
Junipero
@Key Awe :< @Enigma I hope you're partner is able to get treatment if/when she can or chooses to.
Enigma
Yeah, I assumed so. My partner has OCD and it sounded like something she would be upset about. She'll have these periods where an activity or object will be "cursed" so she cannot touch/do them because her brain is telling her not to, both for an outlandish reason or none at all

Another psych student? :D and you're correct, I couldn't remember the exact definitions of each. That is why I am celebrating dropping my abnormal psyc course with pizza xD could never get into it

Enigma no. She does have Dimentia but I dont know which type. She MIGHT have OCD tendancies. But I really dont know
Junipero
Not sure about schizophrenia (I think that some who have it may have paranoia or delusions) but OCD is where someone experiences obsessions (not like hyperfixations or pleasant things) where they might get intrusive thoughts that they believe that they must do an action to prevent it from happening or to ease it. But it never really goes away from doing the compulsion, such as washing hands when touching a doorhandle or checking the door in case someone might break in.
