Some people's attitudes are basically, "Love everyone! Oh, except for those who don't share your beliefs."

There are bad people within every religion and ideology, country and creed, i think it's in bad faith to generalize just because on bad person who happens to be that thing Some people are just assholes, doesnt make everybody one.

@Caesar Yeah, I guess celebrating is an odd word because we for sure don't do it in a traditional Christian/Catholic sense

Winter, I know right? Like I respect everyone’s religion, just because I’m an atheistic satanist doesn’t mean “I’m a bad person” or that “I’m going to hell” My friend is an atheist and she hates how toxic her parents are. I’ve shown them nothing but love and they’re just being incredibly stupid about all of it.

tome, that does make sense, it just feels kinda iffy?? i guess?? to use words "celebrating Christmas" when its not celebrating the religiousness of the day? :')

Probably the coldest take ever, but I just hate how a lot of people use their religion as an excuse to discriminate/and or be a bigot

Aj That’s shit ! Everyone is your brother in sister (in my religion) and we should love and appreciate everyone

I hate how some Christian’s can be so unbelievably rude sometimes. Like, my best friend and me can’t even hangout anymore because of my religion. I thought Christianity involved loving your neighbor?

Neither my parents or grandmother were religious. I never grew up with any type of belief system. It was more of "these exist, respects everyone's presence and beliefs" and went about our day.
Winterfell
My family are big catholics so Christmas is important in coming together to celebrate the birth of Jesus and be thankful that mother Mary had him , but my dad isn’t religious at all so he doesn’t celebrate as much as we do but he still respects that we celebrate

I was raised Catholic, and I'm now starting on a path of my own when it comes to belief.

Cae No it makes total sense. I think for us it originated from my great grandmother and her religious beliefs. But over the last few generations we've evolved more towards using these holidays as an excuse to bond since we don't throughout the year
Krampus
Cae Yeah I know my immediate family (exept my younger brother) is not very religious, but my uncle on my dad's side is very heavily christian, so he celebrates it as much as possible. I understand not believing in a religion, but when you eclevrate a holiday of that religion it doesnt make sense not to appreciate the spirituality behind it, you know?
Sunniebop
@Caesar I know for my family specifically, we were colonized into the religion, so it's become a apart of our culture, but not at all our religious beliefs
