In the winter, Sandstorm was born to a huntress named Moon and an outlander male. As soon as he became a juvenile, his mother retired. That summer, Sandstorm made his first kill, a rice rat. That fall, the pack moved from the swamp to the jungle. Then, he bred to an outsider. After that, he found 20 mushrooms. Then, he bred to two outsiders. In the summer, following Owl's example, Sandstorm led the pack in a run alongside the spirit of Silver Rain. After that run, he found a mint seed. In the fall, he led the pack in a run alongside the spirit of Kal. In the summer, he found 10 mushrooms. Then, he bred to an outsider and found 10 mushrooms. In the winter, he found a scarab beetle.
