the crisp winter air brings a chill to the land, as the cold wind picks up a pack wanders trough the snow, but a small pup soon becomes lost separated from her pack, as she tries to call out the wind drowns her out.
damping it to barely a whisper, as the cold snow falls and blinds her small eyes she stumbles around looking for a trace of her pack.
alone she finds a small over hang to hid from the predators and cold, shivering she tries escape the winds grasp, pressed up against the rocks, once more she cries out but it goes unheard.
as the storm dies down the pup emerges, hunger grips her as she wails for her mom, as alone she treads through the snow the tracks left by the others long covered by snow,
days go by the young wolf grows weaker, as she comes to a river the water laps at her fur, as she falls on the other side nearly slipping to the water's grasp, she narrowly escapes.
her fur now speckled by mud, as the sun begins to set the young wolf feels tiredness calling to her but darker than before as if a voice beckons her to a better place.
one last time she wails for her mother a long heartbroken call but only a whisper comes, as a call brakes the evening sky a bird's shadow draws her to flee nearly does she avoid its talons.
shivering she walks as calls draw closer to the wolf tan pelts briefly seen among the brush and trees, the young wolf tries to flee but tiredness and pain grasp her,
a wound on her hind leg, draws her to a sudden stop.
the little wolf looks on her eyes show fear no way out she readies her self, when the sun dawns a pup is seen her small body blooded and broken barely alive she struggles to rise.
nearby lies a body of a wolf his body only slightly larger than hers, as the pup looks to the one that saved her tears form in her eyes, as she recalls the older littermate she had that vanished.
once more the wind howls the little pup snuggles to her friend as to say farewell for the last night, only one awakes from the dream a young pup wanders the cold drawing her closer each night to the eternal rests sight.
she cries till nothing comes out whispers only heard by the void like land so vacant.
as night falls she tries to find shelter but soon tiredness takes her when dawn comes a wolf wakes to see her fur not touched by hunger or pain nearby lays a small body eyes closed but not breathing.
a wolf lost called out for help only whispers where heard by the land a lost soul forever searching for her pack, a mother grieved for so long when she could not find her pup.
but now she travels with her brother the one that found her and saved her if not for a few more moons.
