Mercy was born in the Runaway pack, and grew up playing with Molten, King and Siren. As a young pup she vowed to herself she would never take a mate, though she never said she couldn't have fun. So when she found herself pregnant she was terrified of what anyone would say. Molten soon found out, and despite not harboring any feelings for her he offered to say he was their father to get her out of any trouble. She agreed, even though she knew King and Siren would've understood. This however incidentally made her the Beta, a position she wasn't really prepared for.
