Kaoru could not be without Hikaru. They were a puzzle, incomplete without the other piece. She loved him, and he loved her. But soon, something happened. There was a new albino. It wasn't just the duo. She wedged between them, snuggling up to Hikaru, and leaving Kaoru out in the cold. This dreaded female aggravated Kaoru to no end, and endlessly, she pleaded with her brother to ditch this nonsense and come back to her. But Hikaru's love for the female was strong, and he would not budge.

One day, Kaoru walked home from playing with Sammy. He had been teaching her to fight. She trotted into the cave that she shared with her twin. It had been years since Yuki had entered their cave. Hikaru had a large smile on his face, and Yuki was curled up in a corner. Kaoru stopped, delighted. Had her brother finally seen the evil in Yuki? But no, as soon as she got closer, she could smell it. There was a new life in their cave. And it was coming from Yuki. There was a tiny pup sitting on her chest.

Snarling, the two females circled each other. Hikaru sniffled on the sidelines, with his and Yuki's son, Yuri, on his lap. Kaoru lunged forward, snapping her jaws down on Yuki's ear. The larger female howled in pain, blood turning Kaoru's white fur red. Yuki turned her eyes onto Kaoru, sweeping her pointed claws at the pup's flanks. Blood spilled onto both wolves, and Hikaru howled in agony. Finally, it was over. Kaoru swiped her claw across Yuki's throat, killing her instantly. But forever after, Kaoru had a red scar across her body.
