Biography
The path ahead never did reflect the journey it took to reach it. The heartbreak and tragedies that had to unfold and the determination it took to get through them. Excalibur experienced this his whole life and it all started when his mother fell in love with an outsider. A sly offspring of loners, in another pack. An inexcusable mistake, as pack wolves could not have relations with other packs, unless either the alpha approved, or they left the pack for the wolf and became a dispersal. But Muna had done neither and instead was exiled from the pack, wandering in the surrounding forest for a bit till she crossed into another pack territory without realizing it. Unfamiliar trees and shrubs were spread along this trail, their scents intermingled with the warm and different wolf markings, more welcome to her than her former packs had ever been. A warning howl erupted nearby and she flinched, expecting some sort of greeting but not this. A few fox leaps away, a patrol of wolves emerged from the greenery, their different colored pelts glowing in the sunlight. Crouching protectively so her belly was blocked by her claws and teeth, she waited for some sort of signal.
A tawny female stepped forward, her gaze travelling down from Munas fierce expression to her stomach. "What's a mother doing alone in a forest?" She inquired curiously, tilting her head to the side. Muna lowered her ears and bared her teeth, but stopped when she saw another male shift closer to the speaking she-wolf, defensive.
"I was forced to leave my pack." Not wishing to give any more detail, she turned away from the pack wolves and lowered her head in preparation for the attack they would no doubt unleash. The silence dragged onward, until the pack wolf spoke again.
"I know what it's like to be a mother. Perhaps...you could stay with us. You and your pups would be safe, no matter what the cause of them has been."
Slowly straightening herself, Muna hesitantly nodded and followed them back. The male that had previously moved closer to his packmate lagged behind, so she slowed herself to keep pace with him.
"We lost a litter a few moons ago," he said quietly, his eyes only on the trail ahead. "My mate hates feeling that sense of failure...I think you can help her just as much as we can help you." He quickly increased his speed, leaving her confused and deep in thought over the whole thing.
The welcoming ceremony was short and a half moon later, Muna welcomed Excalibur and his sister into the pack. He was told the story of how he got there time and time again, each retelling making his eyes grow wider and wider. Though he may have been a product of something that was forbidden, he grew into a beautiful juvenile with a bit of a rebellious streak and had his own adventures, a true shining star.
