Biography There is a hunter in the woods today. Grizzly heard the gun early in the morning, then set out for his usual hideout. It's a tiny clearing surrounded by thorn bushes with a hollow tree at the edge. The thorns always pulled at his pelt when he entered, but no hunter ever found him there. Settled down in the middle of the small hideout, Grizzly was smoothing down his pelt when a strong fear-scent pierced the air. Curious, he poked his head out. Someone was running through the forest. Grizzly was annoyed. They would scare off everything, and lead the hunter and he'd have to listen to that insufferable gun all day. He sat, waiting. Soon, a small she-wolf burst into sight. As she hurdled past him, he lunged out and slammed her to the ground. She let out a squeak and struggled. "What are you doing?" Grizzly snarled. The wolf turned her eyes on him. "Move! Move, he's following me!" She spat, still struggling. Grizzly rolled his eyes and pulled at her scruff, dragging her to his safe-place. He dumped her on the ground, and sat down on her tail. "What are you doing, you idiot?" She was still struggling. "Shhh! He won't find us, but if you don't shut up he might!" Grizzly whispered sternly. "I'm not a pup, I bet I could kill you right now," she remarked, finally calming down. "Yeah, I am completely terrified right now," Grizzly said boredly. Sure enough, Grizzly heard the quiet footsteps of the hunter. Waves of fear came from the wolf beside him, but she didn't say anything about it so he didn't either. The hunter stopped moving for a second, and Grizzly shifted uncomfortably. But then the hunter let out a shout and stomped off. Grizzly sighed and started grooming his pelt, clearing it of burrs and dirt. But curiosity made him turn to the wolf. She looked about 2, so he guessed she was the same age as him. She had red fur with many markings and copper eyes that were scanning the wall of thorns. Soon, she got up a started padding out. "Hey, where are you going?" Grizzly asked. She turned to look at him questioningly. "Um, out of here?" She said. Grizzly got up and shook his fur out. "Wait, I want to know why he was following you," he said. "I don't know! He probably wanted to kill me!" She spat, obviously embarrassed that she was being questioned. She started to leave again. "Wait, what's your name?" Grizzly asked. As much as this wolf was loud and maybe a bit annoying, he hadn't talked to any wolf for longer than a minute in a long time. "Blake," she responded, shoving out of the bushes. Grizzly got up to follow her, but when he got out Blake was already gone. Grizzly let his ears and tail droop for a second before he picked himself up and started treading through the woods, hoping to see her again. ~ A year had passed. Grizzly had seen Blake time and time again, but they never talked for more than five minutes before separating. Grizzly hadn't had anyone friendly enough to talk to in such a long time that he found himself thinking about her at the most random times. They talked about random topics, revealing new things about themselves before splitting off again. Grizzly had introduced himself, and Blake had revealed that she was, in fact, the same age as him. They both were loners, and they both didn't know their parents. But, Grizzly hadn't seen Blake in a while. A gunshot ran through the air. Grizzly sighed and started on his walk to the familiar clearing. A spark ran through his paws, making him pick up the pace. Maybe she was there! Soon he was bounding through the forest, hoping that she was there. The sight came into view and he pushed through the barriers. There, in the spot near the tree in the sun, Blake lay. The sun seemed to sparkle off her pelt. She was sleeping. Grizzly decided that it would be terrible to wake her, so instead, he laid down next to her and laid his head on her shoulders. Blake shifted, but did not wake up. Grizzly took in the warmth from the sun, and from Blake's pelt, and found it hard to keep his eyes open. Finally, he decided it wasn't a battle worth fighting, and he fell asleep. When he woke, Blake was getting up. The moon was high up in the sky, and the stars sparkled through the gap in the trees. Blake padded towards the walls. "Wait," Grizzly croaked. Blake paused, turning to stare at him. "Stay?" Grizzly almost begged. Blake stayed still. "For how long?" she almost whispered. "Forever... maybe?" The words rolled off his tongue. Blake sat still for a few more moments before laying down beside him. "That works for me."
