Lucifer, now deemed Luciel, became a Blood pack wolf, and Ebony's mate.
In a legend that was thousands of years old, a male wolf is born every 200 years, with a red mark on his shoulder. The one born is the chosen leader of Hell, and is destined to heed the call of the realm. If he so chooses not to, he will be killed.
Lucifer was the 12th born male to the line. And he did not want to heed the call. Instead, he did something very, very rare. He passed on his title to Cziel, a fellow demon, and alpha of his pack. Not only was his title given up, but so was his name, which is why he is now known as Luciel.
And yet, he still bears the mark of the chosen one, and the power it holds.
