In this episode of Story time with Shatter/Doom that totally isn't a rip off of Story Time with Starry, we have: Horses! Mountains! Green! Feet! and Pain!
*very weird quick talking like those health risks that make meds seem worse XD*
Stay tuned till the end to figure out what happened to Schatten Waechters foot!
So, me and my mom have been driving to bring our horse to quarantine so he can fly to Germany with us and we stopped in the most beautiful place ever. It was absolutely gorgeous.
The guy who owned the place we rented for a couple nights was an older Australian so I think I picked up some Australian slang (very proud) and he was a saddle maker.
We arrive to this place, eat dinner with him and his house-mates and go to bed; next morning I realize I forgot my riding shoes. (Forgot to mention we were staying a day longer to go riding with him)
So here comes the first thing that wasn't great.
My mom for some reason brought two of her riding shoes, but my feet are a whole size/size and a half bigger than hers so I thought I wouldn't fit.
On the contrary. They were too big for my feet and rubbed against my heels with every step- and uncomfortable. I have no idea how she can walk in them. She claims they're the most comfortable shoes she's ever worn. HA.
I pushed through the discomfort and wore the shoes that rubbed against me the least (I have very sensitive skin- even if I wear thick socks I have a chance of getting blisters from shoes; I was lucky this time- maybe)
So I join the Australian guy to get his horses out and he says he wants to see my writing, I reply with "I can trot and gallop; but I don't really have a preferred style; whatever's most comfortable" XD. After a while I realized my mom betrayed me and told him that I liked writing books and stories.
So we tack up the horses and I sit down on the most comfortable saddle I've ever been in. an Aussie saddle. I love it. Whatever the Australians did they did it right XD
We start out trail ride and I'm blown away by the amazing views of mountains and oceans and vineyards (I have pics if you guys want some) and then on a little down hill to uphill dip my horse starts galloping (not a scared gallop, more of a 'its easier to get up with this momentum' gallop) and the Australian says "wow, he hasn't galloped like that in a couple months." (the horse was a retired Polo horse)
After that we continue riding and on the way back there's this big hill where the horses have an easier time to gallop up than walk.
This is where my foot gets hurt.
We start galloping, and its pretty steep and the horse is old, so he really needs momentum to get up.
That momentum and his already kinda bumpy gallop unseated me, making me loose one stirrup and before I get my balance back I loose the next (they were too long now that I think about it XD) I try to get my balance back for a while but I didn't want to make the horse uncomfortable with pulling on the reins and squeezing his sides while I cling for my life so I jump off.
Now, to make you guys wait longer, I'm going to describe how proud of this fall I am.
In a matter of seconds I had calculated how I was going to fall and what I would do with my arms and legs without actually realizing I was doing this so when I fell I slapped the ground with my arm to spread the force away from my back and my head had no contact with the rocky ground XD
Then the horse stepped on the side of my foot full gallop.
