Okay. But at least one person needs to activate their powers in public, right? Because otherwise how would the mysterious we-kidnap-children-for-funsies group know about them? And there would still need to be a break between the kidnapping and power reveals, because organization and information gathering is no joke. This group has to big enough to be able to pull whatever it is they do off, but small enough to still be extremly low-key. So a few days for the teensnatchers to find out about the magic & gather information at the very least, and then some time for travel, because if they had teleporters it would be impossible for our ANGSTVENGERS to actually get away. It also gives us time to both smash the panic button and get at the very least used to the idea of magic. Is that a reasonable time table? I'm basing it all on what little information I have on the probably-scientists, so please tell me if I got anything wrong. |

Well even Thinktank wouldn't be so evil as to launch a kidnap right after powers got gained. That sounds like such a bad idea, I can't even use words to describe the kind of plot-pushing that would be. Also it would just be stupidly overpowered for the childnappers if they could: ========================================== a). Sense/detect the use of magic anywhere in the country (Don't know where they're based, so I'm assuming just in the US) b). Discern exactly what kind of magic was just used c). Organize an optimal strike team to take multiple targets at once d). Actually get that strike team to the exact location the magic was used in the same moment e). Subdue the target(s) with minimal damage f). Return to wherever their base is while carrying the targets, and remaining completly undetected throughout ========================================== So we'll probably have some time to do stuff. |

It wouldn't end up like *Evie punches a hole through a foot of bank vault steel* /WOOSH/ *All eight teens get insta-traq-darted, grabbed, and warped back to wherever within thirty seconds* is what I was trying to say |

Nah- Not exactly like that. But, the group does have people watching for when the orb chooses a new host for one of the magic types. And the person kidnapping is a mom going to her kid's soccer game... She has a van with snacks and drinks. And she loves nicknames. XD
