I have my English teacher - she's scary smart, and definitely can read minds. She's probably the best teacher I've ever had. She has a witty, sarcastic sense of humour, and manages to be firm but also super understanding. She really takes the time to get to know each student, and will write a letter to each one over breaks and whatnot. I love her because she really gets me, as a person. Aside from that, she has helped me improve my analytical writing so much - it's kinda insane. Anybody that has had her in the grade above me says that she really prepares you to write anything. She also talks to the students as though they're adults, and will literally pull up a chair in the middle of class, sit down, and have a interactive discussion about whatever history topic we're learning rather than just a lecture. She's awesome. I learn so much in her class - I feel just smarter when I walk out of her class, if that makes sense heh >.< . Then there's my math teacher. We have some history (On the grade's three day trip to a remote island on the Chesapeake Bay, he was assigned to my friend's and my canoe. He's kinda really heavy, and we tipped over the boat twice in the middle of the october water, and had to bail out our boat over another boat, and it was hilarious). He's incredibly good at helping anyone understand math. All aside, he's got an excellent sense of humour and really connects with kids. A day before winter break when we finished all our work, he let my friend and I steal his coffee pot, fill it up at the upstairs water fountain, steal his hot cocoa packets, then make hot cocoa in the middle of class while video taping the entire thing. He's also awesome. . Then there's my engineering and robotics teacher. She's kinda quiet, super sweet, and used to work for NASA. She's also really funny when she wants to be. Honestly, she's sort of just a friend rather than a teacher. She loves dogs, which is a bonus, and - I'm not even kidding - my best friend and her will send dog memes back and forth via email. It's pretty hilarious. She really connects well with the students, and takes the effort to get to know everyone. . And then there's my chem teacher. No words neccessary. Heh, it's pretty awesome. (So as long as you find the right one for you.) Most schools didn't really... challenge me enough I guess? Not because I'm smart, but because my previous classmates were semi-dumb >.< (I adored my old school though. It was a lot more character building, learning respect, responsibility, integrity, kindness, politeness, manners, etc. rather than schoolwork). So my dad decided that he would get us into our current school and my mom laughed at him the first time. Just took a hecking year of studying for enterance exams >.< And then I ended up at my current school, and I absolutely love it. It's challenging enough, and the sports are great too.

From your stories they sound good- but I'd rather not go to the ones in my area, poor and just a bad atmosphere...

Ah, I gotcha. I've been to the west side of *city name* one too many times, and it's not pretty. There are certainly areas around me that don't have wonderful schools. The competition between private schools in my area is pretty intense, which is probably why the college prep/high schools are so good. But, the inner city is just - no -. I went to public school for a while while we saved up for my current school, and it wasn't bad at all - but that's because it was an elementary school. But there are certainly some public and private schools in the inner city that just struggle.
