Plot:

Only about three and a half years (3 years 7 months) ago, an elderly and oppressive lead stallion died, leaving behind a sole heir, a 2.5 year old stallion, considered a mere colt by most in his herd. This young stallion took over without hesitance upon his sire's death.

While many were opposed to such a young leader, there wasn't much that they could do. Not even the lead mare could choose a different male to be their protector. The reason for this was that the lead stallion had kicked out all males once they appeared to show interest in even a filly (15+ months), in order to prevent any male's (even his own sons') bloodline apart from his. He'd even kick his own sons. That is, until he realized he only had a couple years before nature would likely take his course. He then selected a male out of that year's foals and chose him as the heir. The mother of this heir happened to be the lead mare, and the stallion took this into account when choosing his heir.

Upon his death, many of the herd attempted to keep him from taking his father's position, and persuade the lead mare (his dam) to force him out. Though she foresaw issues in his leadership, she couldn't bear to make that decision. Instead, she offered to allow anyone opposed to his lead to leave within the first 6 months. After that, the leads were allowed to use their power to keep anyone from leaving.

While many mares left, some pregnant with the recently deceased stallion's offspring and some with live foals from him, many remained. Some who stayed had offspring, though the new lead stallion kicked any mare with a colt to prevent a brother from challenging him until he was an able fighter. Even with this mass exodus, the large herd was still 20+ head strong, due to their previously massive size.

Now, those brothers he forced out are able-bodied stallions, and some of them are looking for revenge. Some have banded together, recruited the aid of bachelors, have done both, or are planning on challenging him alone. Many have formed a large band, known across the land as the Pau Band. With a bit of resentment among the herd, even after these years, this stallion is working to keep his mares' loyalty and keep bachelors at bay. Is there an uprising on the horizon? or will this stallion hold his power and maintain his father's legacy?

Summary:

An oppressive lead stallion left behind an heir with similar ways. With his dam as the lead mare, there's hardly anybody who can help the Ghoda herd at this point. However, there is the Pau Band, a smaller group of bachelors and even mares that wish to remove him from power. Will the Ghoda Herd break free after years of terrible treatment or will the lead stallion maintain his father's dark legacy? Semi-Lit horse RP. https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=28&t=77297

RP Rules:

1) As a basic, follow all Eve's rules
2) No god modding. If your character is physically fighting with another character, please give them time to respond. Your character will not hit successfully every time, and your character will not dodge successfully every time.
3) No perfect characters! Your character can't be the strongest, fastest, smartest, most beautiful, etc. They all have strengths and weaknesses.
4) No gary/ mary sues, weepy willows, spotlight susans, etc.
5) Semi-Literacy is a must! At least 200 words per post, for every character. Minimal grammar/ spelling issues, as well
6) Remember that I have the right to accept and deny form as I see fit
7) I'm fine with LGBTQA+, but this is NOT the RP for it, these are animals, not people
8) This is not a 1x1 RP, so be sure to include everybody. I don't want to see any two players going back and forth with each other for half a page
9) No supernatural powers, horses cannot jump over ravines or take down a cougar without getting a scratch
10) This is a somewhat active RP, so, please, respond at least twice a week or let me know your activity will be lower. I understand that we're all busy. More posts are always appreciated, but not mandatory.
11) You are allowed up to 4 characters (only 1 high-ranking)
12) Keep everything PG-13, and no extreme gore, skip over inappropriate scenes.
13) Keep in mind the basics of nature, please. Females will not be stronger than males, with a few exceptions. Males will not be more agile than females, with a few exceptions. Just remember that your horse can be one or the other, NOT both. (a mix of both is fine)
14) Appearance needs to include measurements, scars, markings not shown by images (images are optional), etc. Images aren't enough.
15) Any horse below 15 months of age needs a guardian. Any foal below 6 months of age needs a milk-producing mare that takes care of it.
16) Ask me before your character has twins unless you intend for 1 or both to be stillborn. No triplets or quads unless you intend for there to be only 2 survivors max (ask me if there's going to be 2 surviving foals).
17) Ask before you create a character related to another person's character. You may not have two characters related to each other in any way. (Exceptions are siblings/offspring/dam of Ghoda lead stallion)
18) Reservations last 48 hours, let me know if you need an extension.
19) Max of 17hh
20) You must use at least two paragraphs to describe the appearance of your character, not just an image. This is to help us get an understanding for their build, scars, etc. In addition, it helps me to see your literacy level.
21) In case you were wondering, there is no word or phrase hidden in the rules. Do NOT tell me that there needs to be, please
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Herd Rules:
1) Orders from leads must be followed, as well as orders from deputies and lieutenant, who follow the leads
2) No relations with any horses outside the herd, especially stallions
3) If a mare is found inside the territory, bring her to the leads
4) If a stallion is found within the territory, report to the lead stallion as soon as possible so he can handle the situation.
5) If you have been placed in charge of one or more foals/yearlings for a period of time, understand that severe punishment will follow any harm coming to it.
6) The young and herd members have minimal authority, and are to follow any orders given by those above them. Herd members can order around younger members.
7) Foals can be directed by anybody. However, a mother has right to undermine orders coming from anybody other than the deputies or leads.
8) Foals and Yearlings are to be brought up well and obey the adults for their safety and the safety of others. A troublesome foal over the age of 5 months will bring punishment upon its mother as well.
9) If a mare is discovered to have mothered the young of a bachelor, and produced a filly, she will be run out as soon as her filly is weaned. If it's a colt, he will leave with his mother upon birth.
10) Openly challenging either lead will result in a punishment collectively decided on by the leads, deputies, and lieutenant.
11) Most foals are sired by the lead. They can, however, be sired by the lieutenant if their dam is the lead's close relative.
Roles:
(Make sure to pay attention to their relation to the lead stallion if it is mentioned)
Lead Stallion
This is technically the second-in-command of the entire herd. Though he will occasionally make calls that are meant to be reserved for the lead mare. He is the primary protector, handling natural, predatory, and bachelor threats. He has sired all the current foals and yearlings (except those of his sisters). Son of the past lead stallion, he isn't quite as oppressive as his father, seeing as he's allowed one male in the herd to remain (his lieutenant/ best friend) and doesn't force mares unrelated to him to stay if they wish to leave.
Lead Mare
This is the horse in the herd technically holding the most power. She makes decisions on where the herd will go, and she can veto the lead stallion's decision to kick out one of the herd members. She handles the entirety of the herd when the lead stallion is handling a threat. She happens to be the lead stallion's dam, a decision his father made knowing that she would protect her son as he came into power. She has remained silent on most decisions her son has made without her permission, though she keeps in mind that she has the power to overrule him, and has used this a few times.
Deputy Mares
These are the (2) mares in the herd that over rank the lieutenant and below. They are given full power in situation that the leads may be unable to make the decision for some reason or other. They are chosen by the lead mare, and they assist the lead mare in completing her duties when necessary. A deputy mare can be demoted to a herd mare by only the lead mare if the lead mare believes she isn't carrying out her duty responsibly.
Lieutenant
This is a stallion chosen by the lead stallion, with the blessing of the lead mare, to be the stallion with power secondary to that of the lead stallion. He is available to assist the lead stallion in handling threats and will assume the lead stallion's position temporarily in the event of the lead stallion's separation from the herd, and will become the lead stallion in the event of the current lead's death. He is the best friend of the current lead stallion, sired by a bachelor without the previous lead knowing. He might be in full support of his friend or opposed to his friend.
Herd Mares
The adult mares that make up most of the herd. Their main job is to reproduce to keep the herd population up. About a quarter of the herd mares are the lead stallion's sisters (half or full), while the remainder would be unrelated or distant relatives. His youngest sisters would be mares 2 years and 8 months of age.
Herd Stallions (Closed - maybe temp.)
Adult stallions who make up much less than the bulk of the herd mares, but are second most common adults in the herd. They are available to assist the lieutenant and lead stallion in handling threats. If allowed, they can also sire offspring. While they won't assist in bachelor challenges most the time (to prove the lead and lieutenant worthy to lead as apposed to bachelors), they will most likely step in if there are several bachelors.
Yearlings
15 months - 2.5 years. These are younger members of the herd of either sex. Males are usually kicked as soon as they start any trouble. Females, however are merely waiting to age into the role of herd mares. Once they reach the ranking of herd mare, they may choose to leave. Sired by the lead stallion (sired by lieutenant if their mother is a close relative of the lead).
Foals
Youngest members of the herd (14 months or younger). These are the youngest individuals in the herd, those who would struggle to survive without the aid of the herd and are, therefore, entitled to a membership in the herd until they reach a yearling rank. Sired by the lead stallion (sired by lieutenant if their mother is a close relative of the lead).
Bands
These are small herds outside of the Ghoda Herd. Most are made up of all males, while some are made up of a majority of males and a few mares.
* There is a large band forming that is comprised of those who have a resentment for the Ghoda herd (either cut from it previously or desires to take some of its power). There are many sons and brothers of the lead stallion of the Ghoda Herd, a few of their mothers, mares who chose to leave the Ghoda Herd, and then a few bachelors who want to take part in taking the Ghoda Herd down for their own benefit. Many have herd of this band, and call it the Pau Band, meaning "downfall" band. This marks it as the downfall of the Ghoda Herd, which many think it is.
