Strong Immortal Resilient Awe-inspiring These words were used to describe one pride of lions on the Savannah. The whispering between species, the hyenas told other prides and the gossiping coyotes told tales of them wherever they roamed. They were feared and honored by fellow lion prides. Tales of great battles and how the lions demolished their enemies with a great display of strength spread throughout the land. No one wanted to cross them - they only wanted to become allies with them to have protection. As the years past, the pride kept up this reputation with many of their leaders, though some notably fiercer than others. The Golden Age was when the mated pair - Mutapa, The Warrior Queen and Takunda, The Conqueror reigned over the pride. This was the pride to be in , the pride to envy, this was the Nguro Pride. Mutapa and Takunda ruled with iron paws. They led the pride through a time of famine, when mange and Dog Madness ravaged the land, they survived a deadly wet season and a horrid dry season. Many prides of lions died out during these times - but no the Nguro Pride thrived and survived. It soon became that they were the only pride within the land. Things had calmed down, and the wet season was just around the corner - but then the unthinkable happened, Queen Muputa and King Takunda both died. Not of disease or battle scars, but of old age. They had both lived to the ripe age and unheard of age of 29 years old. And my did the Pride mourn the lose of these two wonderful leaders. However, hope was just around the corner. Their youngest daughter was the heir, her other siblings had left or fell due to the harsh times before. She was promoted and become Queen of the Pride. Many saw how she led with grace and the same iron paw of her parents. However - an old rule stated that the Queen must have a King to rule with or she forfeits her right to the throne. And so, she elected a male to become the King. Many were pleased with him and he was a fine choice - he was handsome, intelligent, and well suited to defend the Pride. However a couple weeks after he was chosen he began to offend the Queen - eating before the huntresses and her, being overly dominant towards the lionesses, and then an unforgivable offense: he let lone lionesses into the Pride and promoted them. The Queen was not in the mood for an argument so she tolerated his offenses and didn't want to cause anymore discord within the Pride. However, these lionesses became insufferable - they disobeyed rules, offended higher-ups, and even brazenly disrespected the Queen. Rightly so the Queen evicted these parasites with a swiftness - however, the King allowed them back in and had the audacity to call her cruel and domineering for her actions. The Queen was not happy, how dare he, she gave him his rank and luxuries and now here he was squandering them, he was trying to challenge her for her birthright, her pride, the thing nearest and dearest to her heart. And she was not about to take this sitting down. It's just a matter of who's side you are on. The rightful Queen or this disrespectful King? |

————— THE RANKS EXPLAINED ———— Queen The true ruler of a pride, she is the ultimate law within in. This position is more stable, because a change in King does not mean a change in Queen. She is the one who decides whether someone is worthy of being within the Pride, and who should be evicted. This female is the one who makes critical decisions for the pride, whether someone should be punished or not, if they should move the densite or expand the territory. The Queen's authority can not be challenged and to disrespect her is a treasonous offense - one that is punishable by exile or death. She is to be obeyed and respected at all times. This rank is only earned through bloodline - however, cases of fights have been heard. This is called the Queen's duel - mostly blood related females challenge another but there has been one instance where a unrelated female challenged and lost. A Queen's Duel is when a lioness challenges the Queen to a fight and the winner becomes the New Queen and then the loser is either banished, demoted, or killed. King This male is the counterpart to the Queen - however, his position is more unstable. The King is a role easily challenged as males within the Pride and Outside it may challenge him for his position. This male acts as the protecter and guardian of the Pride - he is the strongest male within it, so therefore he is there to protect it. He has quite an amount of authority within the Pride, however his role is easily removed if the Queen and other Lionesses see him unfit to rule the Pride. This male is responsible for the constant patrol of borders, protection against attacks from Nomadic Males and reporting sightings to the Queen. The King reports any sightings of Nomadic Males or Females to the Queen and she will tell him how to act, and he is to obey her. Yes - these two may work together as equals at times but the King is expected to listen and obey the wishes of his Queen. An unhappy Queen means an unstable and rocky position for him. Deputy Lioness This female is the most trusted lady of the Queen. Her authority is to be respected automatically - to offend her is to offend the Queen. This lioness is the Enforcer of the rules of the Queen and King -- she has the authority to punish you and report you the the Queen if not complying. This female is the one who leads in the Queen's absence - she also leads hunts at the order of the Queen. She is also an advisor to the Queen on matters of electing a new King or choosing her Heir. This position is not to be challenged for as it is handpicked by the Queen herself - only the Queen can demote her. There has been no instance of the demotions of Deputies, however if a New Queen is installed there may be a small chance of her being replaced but not always. The only way a Deputy may be demoted is through abuse of power, disrespect to the Queen, or she was found to be untrustworthy - other than that this position is relatively stable. The Lieutenant Lion This male lion is the most trusted lord of the King. His authority is to be respected as well - to offend him is to offend the King and Queen. This lion may lead patrols of the lands, assist in hunting if needed , and many other small tasks. He is the advisor and confidant of the King - these two are usually related or extremely good friends. This male is above the other male lions and the lionesses and has the authority to give them tasks and orders - he also may punish them if they disrespect him. If he spots any Nomadic Lions he is to report them immediately to the Queen herself. This position is also not easily challenged as the King chose him to be in this position - the King and Queen have the authority to demote him. A new King can mean a replacement in the Lieutenant- unless, the Queen objects. The only way for him to be demoted is along the same lines of the Deputy Lioness - however, if demoted for the above reasons then the Queen will chose the next Lieutenant since the King didn't make a wise decision. Otherwise this position is relatively stable as well. The Concubines These parasiteslionesses are the bane of the Queen, Deputies, and other Lionesses within the Pride. These unwelcomed guests were lone lionesses from a Fallen Pride and they wandered onto the territory and now these ladies are the jewels of the King. These lionesses have no respect for tradition or authority - they are not required nor expected to hunt per order of the King. They also don't have to respect the eating order, and are known for bullying the lionesses below them. They also have been bold enough to direspect the Queen and her Deputies, and get away with punishment, why? Because the King doesn't care they disrespect the Queen and saves them from it. In a way they are untouchable leeches to the Pride and are quite unwelcomed by the other lionesses. They are protected by the King himself and if they so much as complain against another lioness - it's always them who win the argument, even if they were clearly wrong. Talk about annoying. Lionesses These lionesses are the heart and bulk of the Pride. Any lioness aged two or above goes here. These are the hardworking mothers and respectable members of the Pride. These females are very hardworking and are expected to respect their higher-ups. They don't have a specific rank but do many jobs, whether it be hunting, scouting , cubsitting, or any other task. These versatile ladies are well respected and have a hierarchy amongst themselves. They truly are the real jewels of the Pride and should be treated as such. Lesser Males These two males are the only other males within the Pride. They are the ones who help out on patrols and aid in defeating male Nomads if needed. These lions also may cubsit if a female is not available or go on a hunt if extra muscle is needed. They are treated well and to be respected as well. They also may provide cubs for the Pride as well. Cubs The youth and joy of the pride. These are the creatures under two years of age. They are to be protected and properly taught and trained by mothers. To have a cub die on your watch is a high offense and to kill a cub is treason. The parents of the cub also have a factor in how well they're treated - cubs of the higher ranked females are treated extremely well. To be the son or daughter of the Queen, Deputy or Lieutenant is a high honor. Children of the King are respected as well however they don't have claim to the throne, only the children of the reigning Queen do. ————— OUTSIDERS———— Nomadic Males and Females |

Rules All of Eve's Rules apply obviously 1 : Be active . Please don't join up just to leave - I would like this RP to last for a while. I expect posts 1-2 a week , and if you need to take a break or be inactive please inform be beforehand via PM or Discussion. Inactivity will lead to your character being removed from the RP. 2 : No OP or Mary Sue, Weeping Willow's , Gary's or any characters of the like.
3 : This is a Semi-Literate to Literate RP. I expect at least 200+ words per post. Put the missing number somewhere in your form, hidden. Also, I required a detailed and well-written appearance and description for your character. This includes proper grammar rules and any form not following these requirements will be declined. 4: No OOC problems. Hate the character but not the player - any instances of unbecoming behavior will not be tolerated, and mods will be contacted if needed. 5: Reservations last for 48 hours and you may only reserve two roles at a time. The reservation doesn't start until you actually post and begin working on the forms. You will be allowed to have 2 - 12 hour extensions if needed to complete a form, otherwise the spot will be open for someone else. 7: I as the owner of the RP reserve the right to accept and decline forms as I see fit. I will not tolerate rude behavior towards me just because you got declined - if you do get decline , try and work on your form and maybe it'll get accepted due to the corrections. Put, thunderbird in other. I hope to RP with many new faces - so come on, I don't bite. 8 : I will make a 4 character limit , however as the RP progresses characters will die - so I suggest having 2 characters to start. You can also only reserve 2 characters at a time. 9: I will allow photos for your characters - make sure they are properly credited and follow all of the WP regulations or this rule will be redacted. 10: This RP is not a heavy romance RP and their may be some hints of it so I'll get this out the way - no romances between your own character [the exception is if the character has a deceased lover or one that'll die later on.] Also, you are allowed to have your characters be siblings, cousins, and etc. 11 : Don't be the character constantly disrespecting the superiors and higher ups - it can be fun but it's also annoying. After all why do you want your character to constantly get in trouble. 12 : Any questions are to be asked via PMs - I don't want this thread clogged up. 13 : I understand that backstories are fun and giving characters angst and tragedy makes them spicy, but come on - not every single character needs a sob story, but also please don't anyways make your characters have the best or perfect life. The Queen, obviously Thoughts on the Concubines + King's disrespect: The Concubines are good for nothing parasites that need to go away and she will no be hesitant in telling them this or disrespecting them. The King is a pure fool for forsaking his Queen and she hopes he has a slow and painful death. If you just look at her you'd be warded off by her steely gaze. Or the way she walks with a defined elegance in her step. Not to mention whenever you try to approach her she seems irritated or unimpressed by you. Sometimes you can be met with a blank, icy glare. It's really hard to tell her emotions from just how she looks at times, but sometimes it's quite evident. One would make the assumption shes dull-witted because she'll stare at you blankly, or she's uppity or a snob due to the way she carries herself, and maybe even boring. Once you get past the prickly exterior (if one ever manages to do it.) You'll find out may suprising things about her. She's quite intelligent and a deep-thinker. And that she actually enjoys companionship, you just have to catch on to her mood/work your way into her friendship/aquaitenceship zone. If you come up to her chatty and she wants to sit in silence then she'll just up and leave. It's not that she doesn't enjoy company, she just wants something quiet and calm for a while before she gets to know you. If you even manage to get a conversation out of her and you're not her friend then you're going places. You'll find she's highly observant of others. She notices the small, miniscule details of things. And can recall details that you said months, even years ago. This can be good and bad in a way as she can use it in arguments against you if you peeve her enough. This female is quite wise for her age, and she's also very shrewd. She is very astute; able to accuratley access a situation and use it to her advantage. She's also quick to understand cryptic messages or ones with eloquent and flowery speech. Not to mention she has a clear-head and thinks before rushing into things. She enjoys listening to older and more mature lionesses and learn from their wisdom. Sometimes she seems like an old soul in a young body. This female has a refined manner about her; she isn't one to just flop down, she's one to elegantly lie down. She doesn't walk with bulky or overly-loud steps; but one of softer and fainty ones. And she keeps her posture erect and taut as if she's always being watched by somone. You can tell these characteristics came from a very classy, and proper influence in her life. While her words at times don't match her behavior, they sometimes do. As she can be refined in speech, she can also switch to callous words. This female has her days when she's more ill-tempered than others. And you can tell by her gloomy actions and words. She'll also be more droll on these days; being unitentionally humorous. Yet her sarcasm and witty responses will be more vicious than usual as well. She'll also be more sulky and uncooperative with those she doesn't like. And it's almost something or someone who has put her in this mood as she doesn't have isn't always like this. Other times she'll be pugnacious at times, because life needs a little spice, but this is uncommon, yet not rare. When you have caught the bad side of this female, either by insulting her or offending someone she cares about she'll be out for blood. Her words will be fiery in tone and laced in venom. While her expression will be blank, and icy with an underlying smugness. This female is very opinionated even if she doesn't show it. While she doesn't particularly enjoy pointless small talk, she'll easily tell you her opinion/thoughts on someone. She's also stern & blunt in her manner of speech; if she doesn't like you, she'll tell you: "Go away, I don't like you" or "Your prescense here is unwelcomed." . If your annoying or boring her, she'll roll her eyes dramatically saying: "GOD, why are you pestering me? Go annoy or bore someone else." And if you are being stupid she'll say, "Why am I surrounded by imbeciles, no, why are you so idiotic?" She's accepted that there will be times when she'll be forced to apologise for her blunt delivery despite the fact that she don’t think she should have to. For this very reason, Jahzara has developed an apology that works for such an occasion. Something like: ‘I’m sorry my opinion made you feel that way…’ or ' I'm sorry you're so thin-skinned and can't take criticism.' She doesn't trust others a lot. Did she always appear to be unfeeling and cold, no. Others took advantage of her kindness and compassion, so swore to lock that portion of her away, because she never wants to be used again by others. However, once in a while you can see a glint of kindness and compassion in her eyes, but it's very rare to see or witness. She's firm, and almost kind with those she trusts and know can't handle her brashness [particularly cubs. And she can even be gentle and almost goofy with them.] This female is very dependable; once you have her in your corner she'll always be there (unless you break her trust.) The first think you notice about this female are her more undesirable traits. This female is rather cold and callous, she speaks her mind when she so pleases and she doesn't hold back. No, she is blunt and straightforward - after all someone has to be that right? It would be a waste of time to make a situation seem like kittens and rainbows when in reality it snakes and poison. She is the type of person to be brutally honest with you and slap some sense into you when you're doing something dumb - you hurt your self by running too fast, "Why the fuck were you running so fast dumbass, slow down next time - or maybe next time don't try and run." Sarcasm and apathy is something else she's good at - her words just ooze sarcasm and annoyance at times. She's quite the master of the eye roll, cold glare, and grumbling under her breath. She acts like she doesn't care when in reality she does, her apathy is rather directed towards those not within her group or circle. If someone she didn't like or know was begging on their knees for help, she'd rather see their head on a stake or ignore them. Unless she is forced to work with them - she doesn't give two shits about them. She also doesn't care what others say about her, but if it comes back to her - then there will be a problem once she finds out who starts it. And don't dare let it be someone close to her - someone will have a new scar on them, or possibly "accidentally" found in a river. Some more undesirable traits of this female includes her more manipulative and predatory nature. This female is a skilled manipulator, she has found a way to push the right buttons to get when she wants when she wants. It's quite something scary to watch - one moment she can go from crying to straight up a demon from hell. Many don't see this side, after all those in her Pride don't need to see it, unless they've done something to anger her or she's trying to find out something. Yes, she uses this skill for both good and bad. It can be helpful if she wants to find out something about someone - especially if the person is being stubborn and won't outright say it. It can also be an intimidating factor, because who in the hell would want to see such a scary side of her? Now - if you're someone that doesn't belong to her Pride then you'll see her more sadistic and predatory side - the glint in her eye when she find out she can do with you as you please for offending her or her pack. Just the idea of ripping someone's fur off or getting the chance to verbally berate and taunt someone for being an idiot excites her - and my, does she verbally disassemble them. Nomads will experience no mercy from her - as she has no sympathy for them, unless they in the future become a pack member she'll never apologize for her actions towards them . When loners come across her , she's a cold and venomous creature who will inflict injury on them if they don't listen or disobey her. Aside from her more undesirable nature, she does have redeeming qualities. While she may appear to be apathetic - in fact she's a natural emph. She's is well aware and in tune with the moods and natures of others. This can also be due to her more observant nature - she enjoys watching others from the background, just getting a read off them from their conversations and who they affiliate with. She is the type of person to show her love in her deed rather than her words - saying you love her or care for her isn't enough. You must prove it, the only people who don't have to do this are those in her family because they automatically hold a special place within her heart - the only way they don't is if they find a way to break her trust. To her words are fickle, you must prove yourself in your actions - she's not easily impressed . To truly impress her and earn her respect is a rare thing and something admirable. This female is also a natural leader despite her other qualities, she knows how to take control when needed - she's one to be honest with those she leads and she would gladly sacrifice herself for them. Sure, she may call them idiots or be a bit mean to them, but that's her way of showing her love, even if she's being blunt and uncaring - her criticism is almost always right. She makes it a point of being right - she never wants to be wrong, so when she is and someone gets hurt a piece of her dies. However, if she's right and no one listened - then she will be angry. This female is also protective of those she cares for. She is also highly intelligent, wise, and very cautious and calculating. To this female family + close friends are first priority in her life and then her Pride. Those two are the more important things within her life - and she'll be damned if any of them got hurt. She is very protective of them - you can see the glare she gives you if you're making her friend uncomfortable or the snarl she gives if you dare disrespect anyone in her family. No - she will find herself digging her claws into your throat until you're in a miserable state begging for mercy. The children of her friends are her adopted nieces and nephews - end of disussion. This female is very intelligent - afterall how can she have such well place sarcastic and snarky rebutals or be manipulative when needed? She is always thinking ahead, plotting and analyzing - yes, she always has a plan, even if doesn't go right she can improvise. Always cautious - she's not one to go blindly into something nor does she get angry without reason. Her anger also isn't explosive [unless she is on her very last nerve.] it's more of a calm and calculated anger.
