“You look like trouble. Call me.”
Appearance:
Alek is easily passed off as an individual fairing well above the average spectrum appearance wise. He physically fronts the masculine Cadell family diamond shaped face that in truth is a bit softer in terms of both definition and chiseled. And if it weren’t for the resemblance of his facial structure to the rest of the males in the family, the legitimacy of his birth could be called into question (which is still a debate on the down low of the family). Alek’s color of eyes alone are vastly different than that of any of his kin, however they are still a beautifully blue spectacle. These eyes of his are a vibrant periwinkle with softer brown flecks within them that surround the iris’. Framed by a thinner but dark set of lashes, his eye type is best described as almond; with a deeper crease in his eyelid that creates an attractive depth to his features. While his eyes do typically betray him by conveying the majority of his emotions, the crow lines at the corner of his eyes indicate he probably smiles way more than he should (most of his smiles are insincere or forced anyway). Above are eyebrows that are an average thickness with a faint arch to the endings. The straight structure and slope of Alek’s nose is simpler, and perhaps the most mediocre piece of his facial attributes as well. In addition, the lips that form his multitude of smiles and frowns are that of a soft shade of rose and possess a slight resting downturn to them.
Now, Alek's hair is something he very much prefers to put pride into, most of the time that is. Typically, the young man has it styled into a messy quiff; with his delicate longer ringlets being forced into the mold of a controlled chaos hairstyle. When it’s not fashioned to be in that preferred style though, his hair just naturally possesses an untamed essence. Its deep oak coloring is nearly passable as a sleek black upon a first glimpse, and yet in a multitude of lighting, it reflects a prominent brunette shine. There is a bit of poof to his wild tufts and ringlets, but the most notable and mention worthy aspect to his hair's general appearance is its sleek voluminous nature.
Standing at a relatively average 5”11, Alek’s height also tends to reflect his relatively average ego influx. That alone is evident with his less disciplined and relaxed posture, and a slight linger in each step. His primary build is a bit more rectangular; starting with shoulders that just barely pass as ‘broad’, and dwindling down to his straighter set of hips that near perfectly align with his shoulders. Alek is someone that doesn’t have a very muscular build, but he does have an evident amount of gentle toning. If he didn’t have that -average- toned build to him, he would honestly be on the verge of having a more twiggish, Jack Skellington type build to him with. It’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but he would be fairly thin. His body isn’t littered with many marks other than a few less than honorable stories to go along with a few of his more defined scars along his arms, chest, and back. Alek’s skin tone is that of a light olive; meaning it isn’t abundantly warm, but his complexion is noticeably a little darker than his kin. He possesses warmer undertones as well, which allow him to tan far nicer -and easier- when he spends an abundance of time under the sun.
In terms of dressage, Alek has two dominant wardrobes; his bad boy garbs, and his chill clothes. As the rebel rouser in the family, it’s only natural he tries to look the part with a black leather jacket, skinny jeans, pocket chains, and black converse. *If* he decides to wear a shirt under his leather jacket, it’ll usually always be a white wife beater, or a tighter fitting white graphic T-shirt. And for his chill clothes, it’s usually sweatpants and hoodies; occasionally sleeveless hoodies as well. All of his clothes reside in the realm of greyscale, and more often than not have more cynical graphic depictions or phrases on them.
“I’m too magical for your bullshit.”
Personality:
In simple summary, Alek is regarded as the rebel-junkie black sheep of the family. He aligns well with his Zodiac sign, however, as he is certainly a man of two very different faces. The Alek practically everyone outside of his family will come to know is the impulsively outgoing bad boy, with a good sense of humor. These are all genuine aspects to Alek though. ‘Act first, think later’ is a motto he’s held close to him for most of his life, with it being a miracle should he ever put thought into anything he does beforehand. Seizing the day, and seizing opportunities are things he believes in, and he tries his damn hardest to not miss out on things he’ll know he would regret missing. With this go-getter attitude, it’s more than difficult to tell that he struggles with being an individual hungry for life though.
As a heavily hedonistic young man, Alek has always been on the search for pleasurable things to get him through. Sometimes he can quench this dire need by jumping both feet into recklessly dangerous situations so he can derive pleasure from fear and adrenaline. Other times -and when he hits his lows- Alek goes as far as to indulge in substances he shouldn’t, as well as make the mistake of confusing lust for love. In all, he desperately desires to find love, and to be loved. While he wouldn’t consider himself a gooey, hopeless romantic on the inside… that’s exactly what he is. The problem is that beneath the facade of his bad boy attitude, he doesn’t feel he’s worth being loved on a genuine level. Which is one reason he’s found himself in a couple of rougher relationships.
The other face of Alek is the side that reflects just how much of a disaster he really is. He battles heavily against Bipolar 2 Disorder, and it’s the cycles of mania and depression that have really fucked him up. During his high’s, Alek typically is abundantly talkative and very active. It’s so similar to the face he usually wears for others that no one may notice he’s on a bipolar high. When he hits his low’s though… they really do hit low. He loses confidence with his self-worth, starts dabbling in addictive substances, he might even disappear for a days or weeks at a time, or worse; his reckless behavior borders being fueled by suicidal thoughts and urges. Hiding his lows beneath his usual facade is difficult, but it is possible. There are always cracks in his mask should anyone care to notice them, but they aren’t usually gravely noticeable. He is ashamed of his issues, and it would fill him with immeasurable guilt to think he was bringing someone else down by laying his problems onto them. And it’s not as if his family has ever been the nurturing type, either. His mother’s take on his issues was declaring it a ploy for attention, while his father’s solution for his troubled son was throwing him at a psychiatrist.
Despite those struggles, Alek can be greatly regarded as a humorously theatrical individual. His sense of humor usually fares on the darker end of the spectrum, but he does enjoy the laughs that are associated with cheesier jokes and puns. Laughter is a mild medicine to Alek, so with the things he finds that make him or others laugh, he’s sure to do so often that he may wear it out. Feeling positive, and happy, are important things for Alek. And just as importantly, he needs to feel that he makes others happy as well. After all, if he’s not putting something good into this world or serving a purpose to someone, no matter how miniscule… what’s the point?
By no means is Alek egotistical, despite his facades, because he lives through others mediocrity and happiness. Sometimes he paints a delusion of having the things other people have in their lives, but deep down he knows that it’s nothing more than a delusion festering from his envy. At the very least, Alek is not an angry or violent person. They are just too ugly of qualities for him to ever practice, because if he did, he knows they would encourage him to do so much more harm to himself and those around him.
“I’m not useless… I can be used as a great bad example.”
Likes:
Laughter; Whether it be his own, or if he’s getting others to laugh, it genuinely makes Alek feel good enough to pretend that he’ll never feel negatively again
Adventure/Mischief; Finding things to do that are busy himself, or things that come with a thrill of some sort are things Alek is always down for, as well as seeking. It would be even better with a partner in crime, but he makes a pretty good dynamic uno
Pets; They’ve always gifted Alek a sense of purpose out of their dependence on him, and he’s always grown very emotionally close to every pet he’s ever owned. It’s very difficult for him to endure a pet passing away though, which is a rough cycle in itself of caring for something to feel important, and struggling with the later loss
Winter; Alek has always had a positive relationship with the cold, and winter in particular. It makes him feel at peace with the frigid serenity, and maybe even a little numb to his usually racing thoughts and heavy feelings
Parties; Places where people are living up their lives, and the vibes are all rising to Cloud 9, are places where Alek will flock to. The music, dancing, and living like there isn’t a care in the world is just too therapeutic for Alek to pass up
Dislikes:
materialistic, or to waste his life striving for money and a lifestyle he doesn’t want
Himself; The guy hates just about everything about himself, and is often stuck in a battle of persevering through his issues, or throwing the fight
Expectations; Alek cannot handle being an entity burdened by expectation, he’s endured it too much. He’s fallen short of his parents expectations, he’s fallen short of the expectations in Catholicism, and really he just can’t handle letting anyone else down
Loud/Aggressive Individuals; While Alek is more likely to attempt deescalation to avoid severe confrontation, he is not afraid to throw hands. Loud people usually get under his skin, just because they’re more prone to absorb the attention in the room, but Alek can tolerate them to a point
Negativity; He’s already struggling with negativity he can’t help, so he will remove himself from people who are abundantly negative, and he will do his best to avoid spaces teeming with negative energy
Strengths:
Humor; It works as a defense mechanism, but he also just enjoys humor, and not to mention he’s just a relatively funny guy
Intelligent; Astonishingly, Alek is a brilliant young man. He thoroughly enjoys technological engineering, coding, and electrical engineering.
Agile; Amid all of Alek’s various physical activities, it’s made him a fairly agile fellow. While he is no power house, he is at the very least quick on his feet and capable of great endurance
Caring; Alek is a sincerely caring individual, and will go completely out of his way for anyone who gives him the time of day. He can’t stand seeing anyone crying, either, he’s not sure why it hurts him so much to see… but he will do everything in his power to cease other people’s crying
Non-judgmental; As someone who has been judged and tossed aside for being different, Alek doesn’t have the heart to judge anyone. It’s not his place, and he does not want to feel responsible for making someone else feel like an outcast.
Weaknesses:
Impulsive; Doing before thinking is usually why Alek ends up in so much trouble, but he can’t help but to live this way
Addiction; Admittedly he was a lot worse with abusing mood stabilizers and things he picked up off of streets, but now he’s really only an addicted smoker, and for the past year has made the choice to keep up with NA meetings once a week just to attempt to keep himself in check
Mental Health; He really just drew the short end of the stick in terms of mental health, among other things, but this does tend to hinder his quality of life the most
Self-loathing; It’s fairly straight forward, he hates himself, and this quality makes his lows a dangerous time for him
Reckless; Chasing thrills to feel something other than sad is something that could very much get him killed one day… but would that really be so bad?
“I’ve got a couple thousand bad ideas if you're in need of any.”
Passions/Interests:
Alek is a techy guy, above all else. His bad boy mirage certainly doesn’t cue anyone into this quality, but he does thoroughly enjoy most things involving computers. He’s even built his own from scratch, and not to mention he is more than curious about everything involving Artificial Intelligence. As someone who owns a motorcycle, it’s safe to say he enjoys riding and working on bikes. He also happens to probably be the only Cadell that could change a flat tire by himself on the side of the road on a bike or a car… but he won’t rub that into anyone’s faces. Yet. Otherwise, Alek digs parties, mischievous activities, and generally just things that spark a sense of joy, thrills, or happiness.
Pro-ranch/Pro-resort:
Alek holds strong at being Pro-resort, as that’s pretty much the stance he’s been groomed to take for as long as he can remember.
Personal Backstory:
It’s so shitty, even his psychiatrist needed counseling after hearing it… that’s just a little joke Alek finds funny, his parents don’t think it’s in very good taste though.
Mister Allerick hardly looks related to his predominantly blonde family, as he reigns as the sole brunette. The only passable explanation for him is that he has on both sides of his parents that are also brunette. However, that doesn’t explain his slightly naturally tanner complexion. There has been no paternity test thus far, but the family is known to gossip amongst themselves about who could potentially be Alek’s biological father. This division in Alek’s early years spurred him being the recipient of little to none affectionate attention. And it also robbed him of the opportunity of being in traditional brick and mortar schools to avoid gossip from other wealthy families about his parentage. So as a home-schooled child, and with adoration shifting to his baby sister, Alek was isolated.
At 13, Alek developed a crush on the older brother of one of Verity’s friends that would come over to play. Mistakenly, he thought he could trust his mother to confide in, and in return was quickly sent off to a very Catholic prep school. And it really fucked Alek up. The forced teachings, the forced repenting, and being told how horrible of a child just did a lot more harm than good. And after 3 years, Alek managed to get thrown out for his repetitive outbursts and behavioral issues. And from that, daddy got him a psychiatrist, and mommy put him in a “trashy” high school. And it was around this time that Alek started getting into and doing things he had no business doing. At 16, he dropped out of high school, got his GED, and began disappearing from home for weeks on end. He found himself in crack houses, alleys, underground parties… and eventually juvie on a couple occasions.
At 19, Alek took the leap of admitting to himself that he needed help, and he turned to Narcotics Anonymous for that support. He’s been weaned off of everything but cigarettes, and was determined to stay clean and as well as possible. And it’s been working for a year now, so surely that’s a good sign. He even agreed to part-time college to study in the area his dad wanted, just to keep himself busy. The resort is good for that too, albeit Alek hasn’t been there as much as the rest of the family.
Relationship Status:
Single, and pathetically desperate to find love. Alek has managed to find it in all the wrong places so far, but a love that hurts to the core is the only kind he knows. However, he does secretly yearn for “fairytale” love, and something similar to a happily ever after. A guy can dream.
I’ll Fall For You If:
All Alek wants is someone who can find it in them to love all of him, even when he can’t love himself. Alek falls for people who like adventure and mischief just as much as he does, and he will fall head over heels for someone with a beautiful laugh. It’s a weird thing to find attractive, but pretty smiles and angelic laughter is definitely what he finds attractive.
We’ll Be Friends If:
Despite Alek’s less than perfect self, he can really be friends with a lot of people on a lax, casual basis. He may not be a friend for life, as he tends to drift, but he’s never had a platonic relationship end in bad blood.
We’ll Be Enemies If:
Shouting at Alek, making him feel small, ignoring him, or generally trying to mentally or emotionally bring him to his knees will be the qualities of someone he will hate for life. He may not shout back, or do anything to defend himself depending on the situation, but that doesn’t mean the mannerisms don’t cut deep. And Alek never forgets those who have wronged him.
Motive(s):
Alek consistently seeks to find pleasure, fill the gaps he has inside, and find purpose in any way he can. That’s really all that motivates Alek in life, and it’s not going to be very pretty when he loses those motives.
