It looks amazing, the crispness of the colors are great, the shading is spectacular honestly I have no advice on how to make it better it already looks amazing

first off the artwork above me when writing this is ets wolf.
ET, i really like way the drawing looks really realistic but also drawn. i love the balance in it. i think if at the middle lowish part of the left side of the snout if you blended in the stripes. heres mine ^^ the black and white is the one i pulled of the internet. the coloured in one is the one ive adjusted repeatedly over a few years. the saphire on the mask is where i credit it for me for colouring(btw dw i made sure it was a public domain image from google) ^^ download_20220203_180859.png

(Doing dragons blood because Saphire's art isn't showing up.)
I like how you did the mouth but the overall drawing could be more detailed.

@Dawnforest
Absolutely in LOVE with the colour's you've chosen for this piece! They're soft and easy on the eyes, and the contrast/difference in colour between the background and the character really draws your attention to that centre!
The detail on the bushes, trees and grass are also very nice!
Perhaps working towards more shadows? From what I can see there is a small shadow beneath the cat and some of the bush work, but its lacking in other points of the piece making it very light. 🫶
My piece:

hey tonneo!!
(yap warning)
i made a redline for your work! if you're not a fan just shoot me a pm and i'll take it down.

first off, I really like the coloring, lines and the arrangement in general. I'm a big fan of the slightly-curious expression with the one eyebrow raised!! even though it's a little thing, it kind of creates a little story? if that makes sense? it makes the viewer curious about what he(?)'s looking at.

besides the colors which go really nicely with each other, i also enjoy the texture of the hair that you made with the cross-hatching and your lineart!

here's the redline i made:
The main thing i see is that the head kinda lacks structure. I see this problem a lot, and it's something i struggle with sometimes too. something that was really helpful for me was looking at human skulls and the planes of the face.
skulls!! skulls!! i love them. personally they also help with angling the eyes. if you imagine the eye as its sphere and imagine the placement of the eye sockets, it might help make them look more tangible.

tldr: if you're interested in anatomy, check out skeletons!

my piece:
The background is supposed to be an overhead view of a forest with large mushrooms, but it's not really well conveyed :,) i suck at drawing backgrouds, so some tips would be great
if you read this whole thing, then... thank you (0u0)/

Always a big fan of your work <3
.
Liked:
  • Really like the intentionally stark blue for the eyes while the rest of the piece is more muted
  • Great use of color on the character. The subtle rendering with the back hair having a blue hue to synergize with the background is nice
  • Lines are cleaner around the face where the focal point is
  • Interesting POV for the background
To improve:
  • Trees:
    • I think the trees lacked shape. While they are usually blobby, the edges should have some definition of leaves or give off the impression of such
    • Depth -- the colors used for the trees were pretty similar in hue. I think the easiest way to correct this is to have the base color of the tree exceptionally dark and then layer on top of it
    • Here's an image of a tree I pulled off Google with these 2 points on top:
      • 1000-F-560711833-9a-BRau-EHTh-Zj-Y0-Jkn-WEw-LEXUAqi-Xk-Vdy.jpg
  • Color contrast:
    • tumblr-70177054d34a02f354e8516bf8dd62d4-828857c9-1280.jpg
    • Your character sticks out great and even in b/w the details are refined. However, the background blends together and details are lost like the mushrooms

First things first, the depth of this thing perfect. That is a frickin masterpiece right there. Thats coming from someone who doesnt usually like this style of art. I love how its coming out of the frame.
That being said, there's not a lot of contrast in the piece. Just that little bit of black and the rest is white. I would suggest a dark backround or a patterned backround. This could also work if the character had black jewelry or hair pieces.
Overall outstanding piece.
