Zombie Apocalypse Romance

Plot
A girl and guy just trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse. When the guy finds himself in a hell of a predicament, until the girl drops in to save his life. The two reluctantly agree that perhaps the best thing would be to team up, and so they band together. Over time, they began to trust each other more and more especially as they encounter other human survivors and more zombies. The zombies evolving as well, growing stronger and bigger. The two grow very close, and end up falling it love.

Well Known Places
Cornucopia
The Cornucopia is the biggest known market place. It holds food, clothes, and pretty much anything that survivors need. No one quite knows how the place seems to stay so stocked, but some people believe it is because of one of the suvorving gangs.
Alfa
Alfa is the headquarters of the second biggest suvivor gang, The Blue Owls. The place is an oasis and a shelter for those who need it. It is a somewhat grassy like place, with two small ponds. It has one large building as its main building, and some smaller ones for storage, and living quarters, etc. All of it is fenced in by tall fences that stretch up high and even is below the ground about six feet, and is an electric fence.
Alepa
Alepa is the base for the largest gang simply known as the Alpha's. Alepa is Hawiaan for Alpha, and while the base is not as beautiful or big as Alfa, it is very well protected. The territory is mainly barren, and while there is a fence it is not very tall and is not electric. However the Alpha's are very ferice and always have peopel on guard. Who are able to kill hordes of zombies very quickly.
Omyega
Omyega is Mongolian for Omega, who is the smallest suvivor gang. Omyega is the base of the Omega's, and is very very well defended, and while it is not exactly a barren land it is not a nature place like Alfa. It is not as well protected at Alfa or Alepa, however the Omega's are able to defend it quite well because it is on land that is raised above the surrounding land. Making it easy for the Omega's to shoot down the zombies as they try to climb.
Shelter 505
Shelter 505 is what most suvivors call a myth, because it is incredibly impossible to find. However the myths say that if you find Shelter 505 you can live in peace and you can almost forget that a zombie apoclypse is going on. Shelter 505 is ran by a smaller gang however they are the most powerful gang known. The shelter's location is unknown, however it is known that it is underground and very very well protected.
Ohama Peninsula
This is the main hunting grounds, as it is over 1,000 long with many animals roaming. Including both prey and predators, some who have been infected by the zombies.

Known Human Suvivor Gangs
Alpha
The Alpha's are the biggest gang known. They are mainly fighters, with some healers. They are known for their great abudance of weapons, and they have even invented some new ones solely for killing zombies. The Alpha's are also known to be a bit arrogant because they believe they are the best as the biggest gang. However the arrogance is rarely seen as most are simply to busy trying to survive.
The Blue Owls
The Blue Owls are the next biggest gang, however not as powerful. While they are great fighters, they are mainly known for their medics, who have even started trying to find a cure for the zombies. Many new medicines have been created by the Blue Owls' medics, and many more would be dead if not for the medics. They are more of a peacekeeper kind of gang, however they become quite a killing machine against zombies.
Nemuritorii
The Nemuritorii(Romanian for The Immortals) are the heart of the myths of Shelter 505. They run the shelter and even sometimes send out some of their own to see if they can escort anyone back to the Shelter. The Nemuritorii protect the Shelter and are the only ones capable of opening the gates of the Shelter. The Nemuritorii are mainly known because they run the Shelter, however are known for their battle tatics and medicines. The myths say that the Nemuritorii have found the cure to zombies. Yet because of the rare appearance of the Nemuritorii and even rarer chance of finding Shelter 505, many people do not believe in the Nemuritorri or the absoulte oasis of Shelter 505.
Omega
The Omega's are the smallest gang known, however they are quite powerful. Known for their reckless battle tatics that somehow work and not many have fallen to the zombies despite how reckless they can be. Some even say that the Omega's remind them of vikings.

Kinds of Zombies
Generic Zombie
They are aggressive and curious, however are very disorientated, and don't fully undertsand their environment. They are the most basic form of zombie. They are mainly known as loners
Walking Zombie
They are quite like the Generic Zombie, however they tend to attack in groups and have astounding durability which makes them a huge threat to humans. They have the ability to run at full sprint, and do not tire as quick as humans. The only way to stop them is by disabling their legs by severing them.
Ghouls
Ghouls are quite like zombies, except they spread radiation when attacking. The radiation rots their brain away and makes them very feral and intent on one goal; attack anyone who is not affected by the radiation.
Crawlers
These zombies are very well known and are considered one of the most annoying kinds. They are completely disabled in their lower bodies and can't walk ro run like the other zombies, and must crawl along the ground slowly to reach their desired destination. Due to their low profile, they are harder to spot. They can launch themselves from a few meters away and attack a suvivors leg.
Screamers
These zombies rarely engage in direct combat, however like to make a ear-piercing wail that can do two things. One, attract the attention of other nearby and stun suvivors, leaving a ringing sensation in the survivors ears for hours to come. It is best to silence them quickly.
Animal Zombies
These zombies are nonhuman victims of the zombie virus, appearing in many different forms based on their species. They help human zombies spread the disease, and since their type widely varies, they have abilities akin to their living form as well as the typical zombie powers. You could encounter a Spitter cat or a Screamer hawk.
Spitters
These undead have the deadly ability to launch toxic at a unsuspecting target, a ranged attack which most other zombies cannot do. Their attacks can sevrely burn, as well as infect, they are very powerful and unique. The best way to kill them is to shoot them from a far.
Tanks/Brutes
These zombies are mutated and are stronger then most other zombies. Able to throw cars or even rip chunks of concrete out of the ground. It is best to kill them with powerful firearms, and try to stay a good distance away.

Axel has always been partial to more loose clothing that give him freedom to move, such as basketball shorts and a tanktop. In the colder months, he exchanges his shorts for a pair of sweatpants and wears a ski jacket over his tanktop. For his footwear, he prefers either sneakers or high-tops. Color wise, he likes navy blue, grey, white, and black in his clothing.

Naturally pale, as his mother was irish, but the sun of Australia tanned him

Axel has three main scars. The first is across his right eye, a thin white line running from about an inch above his eyebrow to the start of his cheekbone. The second is a long slice along his back, not from the apocalypse but from a childhood accident. His final scar is less of a scar and more of a deformity. A zombie bit his left hand, directly on the pinky, and Axel had to immediately cut off the finger to prevent from becoming a zombie himself.

Axel's tattoos are all meaning ful to him. On his upper right shoulder, he has a large wolf paw meant to symbolize the strength from within that can keep you going even when things seem hopeless. Along his collarbone he has three crows, simply done. They show his freedom, and choice to do what he wishes. Finally , the snake that coils around his left forearm, with its ruby eyes on the back of his hand reminds him of his biggest fault, self-sabotage.

Axel placed his G2 back into its holster, surveying the carnage around himself. Bodies, greenish-grey and rotting, surrounded him in a circular pattern. The stench of death hovered in the air, engulfing Axel's senses. It didn't bother him though, he was used to it by now. These were just Generics, nothing special. Though, Axel thought there might have been a crawler somewhere in the back.

Slung around one arm and his neck, Axel carried a pouch full of water bottles, meat, and medical supplies. He had just been to the Cornucopia, and was headed back to Omyega. The barren landscape was good for spotting approaching zombies before they got too close, making it one of Axel's favorite places to be. After all, why would he want to hide in the woods like the Blue Owls where a zombie could jump him from behind?

Axel was about two miles from Omyega, but he could see the plateau on which the base was built. The black smear on the horizon was the base itself, a place for members of Omega to keep safe.

A screech broke the silence, and Axel spun to see a Sprinter, or a Walking Zombie as they were more commonly called, headed for him from several hundred yards away. The scream had come from a large black fox down by Axel's feet. An alarm cry, to warn its master. Looking around, Axel saw at least ten more Sprinters headed for him, in a circle formation, with no way out. "Well, shit," Axel muttered, as Valient curled around his legs, snarling.

"Maxx?" Came the low murmur of the young survivor, who was Maxx's younger sister. The young man comes hurrying over,"Sel?" Selena groans as she reveals a bloody wound at the base of her stomach. Now this wasn't a zombie bite or attack, thank god, but rather a scuffle with another pair of suvivors. The siblings had been seperated during the brawl, and while they had driven the enemy away. They had not gotten away completely unscathed. Maxx glances at the wolfdog beside them,"Nyx, watch." The wolfdog chuffs as she leaps up to a higher advantage point settling down to watch.

Maxx crouches beside Selena, reaching into his bag to pull out some medical supplies, Selena pulling her shirt up to reveal the wound. Maxx sighs as he sets to work,"Most survivors don't usually scuffle with each other." Selena's sharp gray eyes scan the area as she does her best to ignore the pain,"Most survivors are to busy running from zombies, besides it's just a fight for themselves." Maxx sighs,"I know. I miss how it use to be." Both siblings freeze for a moment, remembering back how it use to be before the apocalypse. It seemed so long ago, yet was only about five years ago.

In fact both siblings clearly remembered how it started, and how quickly the whole world had gone to hell. Maxx finishes on the wound, packing his supplies away,"I'd ditch the shirt, blood attracts those bastards." Selena nods as she slowly gets to her feet,"Come on. Let's head towards Omegya, they are the closest and are bound to have some better medicine." Maxx frowns,"What? Don't like my patch up job?" Selena chuckles,"It wouldn't hurt to have a professional check on it." Maxx grimaces,"True." Selena flashes a small smile,"Go on. I'm going to duck behind this...rubble to change."

Maxx nods and starts off, while Selena ducks behind the rubble swiftly changing shirts. Throwing the bloody shirt behind her, before reemerging,"Come on, Nyx." The wolfdog leaps down, and the two quickly catch up to Maxx. As the two walk, they suddenly heard the noise of a...fox? The siblings frown at each other as Nyx grows stiff. Maxx murmurs,"Should we go check it out?" Selena hesitates, that was the thing with the zombie apocalypse. It could either be a pet warning its owner of approaching zombies, or it could be a zombie animal attacking its prey. Selena glances at Nyx, who was bristling, a sign of zombies.

Then suddenly the noise was broken by the sound of half shuffling half running feet. That was a dreadful noise for any survivor,"Shit. Walkers." The siblings exchange a glance, before sighing,"Well come on." The two break into a jog, Selena's face pale from the blood loss, however she continues on determined. Then they saw about ten Walkers surrounding a survivor and a creature. Surely the fox that had let out a cry, Selena and Maxx come to a halt. Maxx had a sniper, and he was a pretty damn good shot.

Maxx pulls the sniper off his shoulder as he aims, while Selena pulls her own sniper off her shoulder. It wasn't a typical weapon of hers, however she had scavenged it from the Cornucopia a few days ago. Both siblings lay down to get a better aim, while Nyx stalks behind them, watching out for any more zombies that could approach. Then the siblings opened fire on the Walkers, they were a good enough distance away that even if the Walkers turned on them, they would be able to take them down before the zombies reached them. Their aims were pretty spot on, as the siblings had honed their gun skills over the last five years.

Axel's pulse quickened as he slid his G2 back out of the holster, cocking it with his thumb. The click of the gun seemed to enrage the charging monsters, because each gave a strangled cry, lurching forward faster. One, A female with her jaw hanging by mere threads, sprang at Axel, screeching in fury.

Axel fired the gub, hitting the Sprinter point blank in the forehead. Her face exploded, foul smelling blood shooting across the dusty ground. The body fell with a dull thud, sending up a mushroom cloud of dust. Axel fired at a second zombie, only to have his gun click uselessly. He was out of ammo.

Axel mentally cursed himself for not bringing at least two extra cartridges with him, an extremely dumb move on his part. And his hunting rifle was back in Omyega. Axel in sheathed his hunting knife, the silver blade counting in the harsh sunlight. It wasn't his first choice, but it would have to do. Hopefully the adrenaline pumping through his veins would keep him and Valient alive. The black fox growled, baring its dagger-like fangs. He launched himself at the closest Sprinter, tearing out its stomach. Valient leaped back to Axel, out of danger from the groping hands, blood dripping from his jaws.

Shots fired behind Axel. Axel spun, trying to catch sight of where they were coming from. He spotted a dark blotch on the ground, and figured it to be people. Only question was, were they shooting at Axel or the Sprinters?

As a male Sprinter took a shot to the head, and another one collapsed on the ground, A good sized hole in its stomach, Axel decided the owners of the guns were friendly. At least, friendly enough to save him.

Axel started running for the two, feet pounding the ground in a steady rhythm. The zombies in front of him were down, so he had space and time to make a break for it. Valient tore across the ground beside him, snapping at any Sprinters that got too close.

When Axel reached the spot with the two shooters, trusting them not to shoot him, he slid in the dirt behind them, out of the line of fire. Soon, all the zombies were dead, or rather dead again. Axel took a better look at his rescuers, an older male and a slightly younger female. A rather pretty female actually. Not that that mattered in this world anymore. "Thanks," Axel said, looking the girl in the eyes. "Would've been harder without you two."

Maxx and Selena found it a bit harder to shoot as the survivor started towards them, with his fox on his heels. But they continued to fire, Maxx covering for Selena when she had to pause to reload. But just as quickly she was firing again. Then all of the Walkers were dead, and the survivor had dove beside them out of the line of fire. Nyx was still patrolling behind them, sharp eyes scanning the surrounding. Though as the siblings sat up, two almost identical pair of gray eyes slid over to the survivor they had saved. Maxx inclining his head as he acknowledges the suvivor's words. Selena getting to her feet and calling Nyx over.

Maxx responds,"No problem." Then he turned the sniper of safety and got to his feet as well, glancing at his sister. "How are you feeling?" Selena slings the sniper over her shoulder as she turns back towards the boys, Nyx now sitting beside her. "I'm fine. It was just a knife scratch, brother, calm down." Finally the gray eyes slid over to the survivor. "How about you. Did you get infected?" Nyx growls slightly at the word infected, and both siblings spare a glance at the wolfdog.

They had found the wolfdog about two years after the apocalypse had started, as a newborn pup. Nyx's mother had abandoned her, and in pity the siblings had taken Nyx in. Though the wolfdog had quickly taken to Selena a lot quicker then she had Maxx. Selena's gaze rests on the dead Walkers, a while ago that would have grossed her out. However by now she was use to it, and she no longer cared. Maxx realizes that they hadn't even introduced themselves. "Oh, I'm Maxx and this is my sister, Selena." Selena offers a nod, while Maxx offers a half smile in greeting.

Axel stood up off the ground, wiping dust from his pants. He glanced at each of his rescuers in turn,noticing as he did that the girl was actually quite pretty. Though, the blood on her shirt gave him a reason to worry. The handsome wolf dog accompanying the pair appealed to Week's love of animals, and he smiled warmly at the creature.

The male, who spoke in a way that let Axel know he was friendly, introduced himself and the female, apparently his sister. Maxx, Selena. Good to know. The growl from the Wolf dog provoked Valiant to snarl viciously and come to stand before his master. The fox was large for his species, reaching Week's knees, but still not as large as the other canine. This didn't seem to stop Valiant however, as his eyes stayed narrowed into slits and his snarl never ceased.

"Easy there." Axel bent to stroke the neck fur of his best friend, though the fox did not relax. Axel shrugged, standing and facing the two siblings. "No, they didn't get me. I don't need another missing body part," he muttered, holding up his hand to show them the missing pinky finger. "I take it neither of you are infected either, or you wouldn't have saved me. Where are you headed?"

Nyx flicks an ear in surprise at the fox's aggression, and her lips peel back to match it, but before she could snarl back. Selana halts the wolfdog,"Hush, Nyx. Down, girl." Nyx huffs however takes a step back, before sitting back down. Amusement flickers in her eyes as she glances fondly at her wolfdog, then back at her brother then the boy they had just saved. Selena's gaze studies the missing pinkies, however her gaze reveals nothing. However Maxx was not as good as hiding his emotions,"Ouch. Those look like that hurt. And no, we're not infected, we've gotten close though." Then he perks up at his question,"We're headed for Shelter 505!"

Selena sighs quietly,"Maxx, both you and I know that Shelter 505 is a myth." Maxx frowns at his sister,"No it's not." Selena raises an eyebrow,"Nobody's found it, and if they have, they haven't been back to tell us." She glances at the boy,"Maxx is hunting for Shelter 505, I'm just along for the ride, I suppose. So we don't really have a destination in mind." Maxx frowns at Selena,"Where's your sense of adventure, sis?" Selena flashes a small smile,"Gone, if you wanted a sense of adventure, you should have saved Nero." Maxx frowns,"Selena..." She sighs,"Alright, sorry. No joking about the death of Nero, or Mom or Dad."

Selena winces slightly as sudden pain laces up her body, starting at the knife wound on her stomach. Maxx frowns at Selena,"Are you okay?" Just as quick as the pain had arrived, it subsided,"Yes, I'm fine." Maxx didn't looked convinced, however he simply nods,"Do you want some medicine?" Selena shakes her head,"No, save it for when we really need it." Maxx sighs,"Perhaps Nero would have been easier to deal with." Selena grins,"Nero was a simple pushover, he would have died within seconds of facing a zombie, regardless of how good of a gunsman you are, brother." Maxx sticks his tongue out at Selena, who smirks at him.
