Green eyes peeked through empty shelves, watching through the windows of the abandoned gas station. Suddenly, the eyes ducked down as the young man shoveled what was remaining of the food, which consisted of candy and trail mix. Moments later, he darted out of the building like a bat out of hell, stopping for nothing until he stepped wrong. Ewan yelped as he crumpled to the ground, hissing in pain as he held his ankle between his two hands. Biting his tongue, Ewan held back a scream of pain as he reset the dislocated joint. A growling could be heard nearby. It was one of the rippers. Panicked, Ewan struggled to get on his one good leg and once he stood, he began limping as fast as he could into the middle of the road, where a sniper rifle lay. He had put it there in case of something like this. He couldn't shoot well enough to weird it in a building, so he put it out in the open. Once he got to it, he fell beside it, picked the gun up, chambered a round, and aimed, squeezing the trigger shakily. Nothing happened. He squeezed again. Nothing. It was jammed and the zombie kept shuffling closer and closer. Ewan whimpered, as now he couldn't defend himself.

Traveler huffed. This would be the second time he was separated from his small group. A herd of the infected would drive him away from them, and over time, he simply lost his way. Although being decent in tracking and hunting, this wouldn't help Traveler at all. It would simply annoy him at this point as the man continued on. Stopping in his tracks, he would spot an old run-down gas station and a few frames of bodies. He squinted in the slightest, seeing a man on the ground and an infected shuffling towards the man on the ground. Quickly going for his long, sharpened blade, Traveler quickly brought it up to the infected's head, stabbing it, and watching the body thud onto the ground. "C'mon," Traveler gruffly said, putting out a hand for the man to grab.

Ewan looked up at the stranger that killed the ripper. He then took the hand that was offered. Standing with the help of the man, who in Ewans opinion, was build like a brick firehouse. Although he wanted to, Ewan had no time to ogle the man. More rippers would come. Ewan wasn't very silent when he dislocated his ankle. "Thanks. I um... I dislocated my ankle, so its hard for me to walk, much less run." He informed the man. Holding tightly to his stolen sniper rifle, Ewan watched around the two.

Hearing the slight growl of the infected, Traveler huffed as he pulled the man up, taking notice to his ankle. They weren't going to get far on that, which the man vocalized. Traveler nodded and looked around for a moment. There were probably some infected roaming inside the gas station building, but Traveler huffed and turned back towards the man. "I know a place -- it ain't too far from here, but it'll be a walk. I've already cleared the place." Traveler stated. "Can you at least walk on your own or do you need to lean on me?" He asked, hearing the growling get closer as he waited for his response.

Ewan took a breath. "I can walk. Do you have like.. another knife?" He asked. He looked back at the rippers. "Time to go." He said, and began limping in the opposite direction.

Traveler huffed and then nodded. Tucked behind his shirt was another knife, smaller than his own, but he went to give it to the man before seeing him limp away. Traveler sighed before turning around, stabbing the closest infected before going after the man. "This way," Traveler said, leading them into the forest. It would eventually get thicker and thicker the deeper you went, leaves crunching beneath their feet.

Ewan stayed beside the man. "So whats your name?" He asked, listening to the leaves beneath their feet. A bird call nearby gave Ewan hope that the world could go back to normal. Life was good before the nuclear reactor blew. Ewan sighed. "Pretty nice out here." He muttered absent-mindedly.

Traveler sniffled slightly as he moved some branches out of the way. He huffed, ignoring the man's question. "We're almost there." He said, listening to the sounds surrounding them -- the bird's choir, the leaves rusting from the slight breeze. It was peaceful, which was why he would normally stick to the wilderness rather than living behind walls. He heard the man say something else, but didn't say anything about it, nor did he care to know. "I ain't gonna keep ya here long - just until you're fine and dandy to go." Traveler stated, his eyes slightly narrowed as the abondoned shed came into view.

Ewan sighed, realizing he had been ignored when he inquired about the man's name. "Gonna be awhile. I imagine a dislocation doesn't exactly heal overnight." He said, letting his Irish accent finally come through. He studied the shed. "Yer certain there isn't any infected here?" He asked to be sure.
