Mayhem picked up two of the puppies, watching the third one that walked next to her closely.

River sighed as she waited for them to catch up " I hate doing this to my pack, Mayhem..."

"What do you mean?" Mayhem set the puppies on the ground and asked. She had an idea of what he meant, but wasnt certain.

" I have a feeling we are leaving my pack to go somewhere safer away from those dogs" River said plainly, not looking at his mate.

Mayhem's ears drooped. "They're gone now, River,"

River stopped in his tracks " If they are gone.. .they why are you so upset" he asked looking at her and nuzzled her to try and raise her spirits

Mayhem inhaled a sharp breath. "Those were my parents." She paused. "Abilene and Dako."

River had no words for this so he just stood there " im so sorry love" was all he could say to her.

"Dont be. They left me to die, so why should I even care?" Mayhem snorted. "Let's just get home before it starts raining again."

" yes my dear" River said picking up one of his sons and began walking back to the den. His heart sank as he looked at his mate I should have held my tongue he thought wrapping himself around once they got to the den.
