We didn't end up taking mine to the vet and I was with him when he went, but I can never seem to get the feeling that we didn't do enough when we noticed him losing weight, especially at the end. The money will hopefully be worth the peace of mind that you did whatever you could for you kitty.

I would definitely get her checked out even if she is getting older just in case, but it for sure could be her age. My cat was 13(? we weren't completely sure on his age) and he stopped eating. There wasn't much we could do for him and he passed away about a month or a month and a half later.

I personally don't find it worth it. It's in the small print but most pet insurances want you to pay the cost of the vet bill upfront and then they reimburse you... after deciding if they'll cover your claim.

Just save the a million dollars a month most companies charge and put it in a piggy bank for when worst comes to worst.
