Does anyone know how to apply stuff to the wolves? I got gifted 2 red potions for my wolves with infected injuries and I don’t know how to apply the potions to them

Guys I just had a shower thought.
What if someone bidded on an auction for like 1000 mush or something. (Now that I think about it, that's a lot of mushrooms.) But then they buy something for 2000 mush. The person only has 67 mushrooms left. Then he wins the wolf he bidded on in the auction.
Could they go in the negatives? Or maybe not receive the wolf? Or maybe they got the wolf without having to pay the 1000.
I wonder if anyone has ever gone through this before. If not, we'd just have to think about what would happen.
