I'm really glad you have her ^^
The way you describe her sounds a LOT like my previous dog, Charlie. He was probably at least 5-10 times more emotionally attached and attuned to me than Bear is.and the things he did for me? I can't even begin to atart to easily explain it all either.
And that's really saying something about Bear's relationship with me.

Though to me that almost sounds like she's a dog in a cats body more or she's just more emotionally attuned to her owner than most/many cats.

Essentially, she has a sort of emotional and what some would call "spiritual" connection with me. When I went to the shelter, she picked me, and while she will interact with others in a friendly manner, she will stick by my side throughout emotional moments and protect me from seemingly invisible threats. Honestly it's a bit difficult to explain beyond that.
