Biography
Suddenly, in a sandy desert, a cry can be heard from somewhere within the dunes. It sounds of sorrow and pain. Then, there is a soft whimpering sound. You slowly begin to walk towards the sound, both curious and scared all at once. What you come across, however, is not like anything you would have expected.
There, stuck under a cactus branch, is a small wolf pup. Being so caught up in its struggle, at first, it does not notice you. Then it does, and big green eyes meet yours. His face shows his pain, and he begins to whimper again, seemingly pleading for help. Ever so cautiously, you move closer to the pup. His gaze never leaves yours.
When you finally reach him, you notice that there are many thorns poking into his back, from which his wounds are beginning to bleed. You carefully move your hand towards him, holding it a bit in front of his nose for him to smell. The orangey pup takes a step to back, a wince apparent from the cactus's thorns, before he begins to sniff your hand. He licks it, letting you know that you may touch him and he won't bite.
So, you carefully press down on his back with one hand, while precariously lifting the cactus with your other hand. As soon as the prickly feeling leaves his back, the wolf pup bolts, running off into the barren landscape. You remove your hand from the cactus, sitting back and watching the wolf abandon you.
You begin to patch up the hand you used to free the wolf from the cactus, wincing every time pressure is applied. You get up, about to leave, when you see a flash of orange and white out of the corner of your eye.
A very playful pup runs up to you, the same pup that you had just saved from the cactus. He leaps at your backpack, knocking out a can of soda. He grabs it in his teeth, looking very pleased with himself. The can explodes in his mouth, from being shaken up and the puncture wounds from the pup's mouth. You put up your hands to shield yourself from the spray, laughing when you see the wolf's confused expression. "You know what; I think I'll call you OrangeCrush." You laugh, picking up the can of the orange soda.
He gives you a lopsided grin, licking the soda off of his lips. From that day on, you would return to your camp at night. OrangeCrush would always try to follow you, but you would scold him, telling him he cannot be seen by your family and friends. But you would always be the first one awake, sneaking out to meet the wolf by the spot of your first encounter. You would play games, run races, fetch. Everything a boy and his dog would do.
But, one day, when you came out to look for the wolf, he wasn't there. You waited all that day, but he never came. And the same thing happened the next day. And the day after that. And then the day after that. Until eventually, you stopped going to the meeting spot. And so, you lived your life, you eventually moved on. However, you still never forgot about OC.
On a rather cloudy day for the desert, a wolf invaded the camp. This one was unlike OC. It was a strong, muscled, black wolf. It had red eyes and a scar over the left one. It was full of hatred, and evil. It attacked and killed over half the camp. Just when you thought all was lost, and it was useless to fight the being, another, more familiar wolf connected with the killer canine. OrangeCrush and this new black wolf fought, wrestling on the ground.
At last, OC emerged victorious from the battle. He stood for a few seconds, letting out a half-hearted howl before falling to the ground, much like his opponent. Your brother and a few of your friends, who had been watching the entire thing, watched you as you approached him. You knelt down beside him, tears in your eyes. You pressed your ear to his heart, trying desperately to hear the soft thumping sound of its beat. But alas, you heard nothing. You sat back, feeling defeated as you sobbed at the loss of your friend.
