The Snatching Game (SV)
It would be a Friday evening when this happens. About 11:55 is when your heart truly started beating, thumping as if it were to pop out of your chest. You knew it was happening, and you knew it was happening tonight, but you didn't know if it would be you. The shadows swallowed your room in darkness. Hearing and seeing things in paranoia, you wait for the trepidation that could be coming for you.
Tick-tock. Tick-tock. With every click of the clock, your anxiety would incline, causing you to go mad. Questions raced through your head so fast, you would feel befuddled. "Is it time yet? Is he coming for me? How will I know if he is here? Will I even know it is happening?"
Feeling like an eternity, you get up to check your clock. 11:56. "Shit! It's only been one minute!" You walk towards your window, looking to see if there might be anything out there. Just your yard, the woods, and a New moon blanketing the surrounding area with it's darkness.
You made your way to your bed. You noticed something moving in your blankets. Your heart skipped a beat. Unsure if your eyes were adjusted to the lights or not, you slowly go to reach for the covers, and you rip them off your bed. There was nothing there. You look around, and then go to lay back down.
Suddenly, you hear a noise in the other room. You get up to turn on your lights. "Click click." They weren't coming on. Your electric was completely shut off. You felt a huge lump in your throat, that you couldn't swallow" and you slammed the door shut. "He's here! What do I do?" You panicked to yourself. You looked around for anything that could be used as a weapon, but it was too dark. While you scramble around, trying to feel for things you could use, you hear something moving around in your closet. "Fuck this!" You ran out of your room, and into the kitchen looking for a knife or something. Your drawers were empty. You look towards the doorway to see if anything was there. You froze when you saw a black shadow creeping in front of it, heading towards the other room.As soon as the shadow was out of view, you don't hesitate to bolt out the back door, and head for your shed in your yard.
Once in, you closed the door, drenching everything in black shadows again. You felt for a machete, and you gripped it tight, standing towards the back of the shed. You waited and waited, but nothing happened. You saw nothing and the only thing you could hear was the sound of your pulsating heart, and your rapid breathing from fear and running. You stood there waiting for what seemed to be forever. "Should I see if he's still in there?" You thought to yourself as you cracked open the door to have a look.
Fear started to rise again and you figured it would be safer in the shed. You closed the door back, and you sat on the cold ground, prepared to wait there until morning. You set the machete in your lap, and try to relax yourself. About a minute later, you feel a slight warm draft on your right shoulder. You turn your head to see a wolf skull with bloody fangs and a Jokers' smile, hovering above a pitch black slender wolf body. You quickly jump back and hold up you machete, and started staring into lifeless holes in the skull. The being stood up tall, raised his head, and made a cackle that could be heard for miles. He then looks at you and screeches, "It's Snatching time!" His jaw unlatched like a snake, and was able to swallow you, and your weapon whole.

The time was night.
The moon was New.
And there was something out there,
Possibly to get to you.
5 'til midnight
Was on the clock.
And midnight would be
When everything stopped.
If it even happened,
You weren't too sure,
If it was going to be you,
Or someone else who'd endure.
You waited in fear.
When would it show?
What was going to happen?
You wanted to know.
Time felt slow.
As if it were still.
You'd check around,
For this horrific thrill.
Back to your bed,
To try to lie down,
But that's when you heard,
The thing moving around.
You look towards your closet.
The noises were coming from there.
To decide on opening it,
The chances of living would be rare.
You run to the kitchen.
You try to grab a knife.
But the drawers were emptied,
And there was no weaponry in sight.
You turn to the doorway,
And there you saw,
A slender tall wolf shadow,
Heading down the hall.
You ran out the door,
Outside to your shed.
You grab a Machete,
And pray you won't soon be dead.
Some time went by.
Nothing came about.
And you saw nothing,
When you went to scout.
Machete in your lap,
As you sit on the ground.
You take a deep breath,
As you try to calm down.
"Surely he's gone.
There hasn't been a clue."
Next thing you know,
Something was breathing on you.
You stand and turn to him.
In fear you just stared,
Into lifeless eye sockets,
And bloody fangs that were bared.
Over the shadow wolf being,
The skull had stood.
A Joker-like smile,
And evil that could never be withstood.

"It's Snatching time!" He screeched,
And whole you were swallowed.
