Character Description

Biography
I wandered along the dirt path, my tail almost dragging behind me. I kept my head low, and my eyes were on the lookout for trouble. The woods and been covered in thick fog for days now and I loved the cover and obscurity it provided. My silver pelt had been damp, and I felt like I was carrying another animal. The path lingered and then twisted around the bend of the river. I knelt to drink but the water was so still I didnt want to break it. The river had been rammed by beavers months ago, and as a result the water became stagnant and still. As I laid down staring across the glassy surface, I saw ripples spreading towards me. I squinted against the thick fog and could barely make out another wolf across the water. She was kneeling, drinking silently from the water. I was well hidden in the tall grass, and with the cover provided by the fog she did not notice me. Even smells didnt carry like they did in clear air. Her paws barely dipping into the water but just enough so that it looked as if she was part of it. Her head darted up and she looked earnestly into the woods behind her. She quickly vanished into the trees leaving no trace but the ripples in the water. What a gorgeous creature.

I meandered back to the path and trotted until I heard something. A wolf howled in the distance and more echoed the first. The hairs on my back raised and I turned in circles waiting to see one emerge. The fog thickened and I growled lowly to send off a warning. The howls had stopped abruptly and there was no movement or sound on the air. The woods seemed dead. The longer I stood there, the more tense I became. I felt my mind drift away as I waited. And waited. Still no sound. Finally I moved on and followed the path. If this was my life. Following this dirt trail and catching glimpses of life. Was I really alive?
