Biography The words All is fair in love and war came to mind. Especially in war. Blood was splattered against the trees, the ground, no one was spared from it. Flashes of teeth and claws filled her vision. Insusceptible to her own pain. Their deaths were still fresh in her mind. Knowing the blood would never wash from her paws. Eye-Drops shook, the weight of what she had done was consuming her. And in the end neither side had won. All those deaths. For nothing. Her paws dragged as she walked away from the battlefield; those who survived walking beside her, their heads hung low. The clear blue river now ran red. Eye-Drops stopped, looking at her reflection. Murderer. It spoke back to her. The feeling of acidic bile coated her throat. This isnt me, She repeated over and over like a mantra. Those three words holding her together.
Together they returned to the pack, the metallic scent of blood coating their fur. Gasps and whispers erupted from those who stayed behind. A rapid feeling of anger erupted from her. Well what did they think we would looking like! As soon as she thought it the anger faded. Eye-Dropss head hung, the adrenaline that was keeping her moving was beginning to fade leaving her weak and tired, the pain she was unable to feel before was beginning to rise. But she couldnt sleep. Not yet. They still had to report to the alpha. Something she wasnt looking forward to. He expected them to win, and wouldnt tolerate anything less. Then he appeared; the murmuring and whispering halting almost instantly. The alpha looked each of those who came back from battle in the eye, and by their expressions he guessed what had happened. His laughter started out quiet, barely audible, but as it grew it became something else, something darker. You lost, and you dare show your faces around here?!, He laughed again, the sound instantly dying off. No one spoke. No one moved. Get out. His words were quiet. Eye-Drops looked between her fellow packmates, seeing if they heard what she did. Get out! The alpha yelled, causing the other wolves to jump. Eye-Drops looked around. This cant be happening! She screamed in her mind. A deep snarl came from the alpha, as he lunged at the warriors. The adrenaline that had faded came back full force, and she ran. The soft earth caved under her paws as she ran, never looking back. Tears stung her eyes and dripped down her cheeks. What was it all for!! Eye-Drops screamed. She fought a war she never wanted anything to do with, all for her alpha, and he repays them by kicking the survivors from the pack.
For nearly two days Eye-Drops ran, only stopping when her body gave out from underneath her. Not having the strength to move, she laid beneath the trees. The sun was dipping low in the sky, turning it the color of peaches and oranges, and for the first time in days, Eye-Drops felt at peace. Her body relaxed and her mind began to fall in and out of consciousness. Her eyelids felt heavy and she didnt fight to keep them open. She was done fighting, And everything went black.
The feeling of something nudging her shoulder brought Eye-Drops back, her eyes fluttered open. The last bit of light still hung in the sky. Her eyes looked up, locking with ones of brown and green. Youre going to be ok, The male wolf who stood in front of her spoke. Youre home now. Eye-Drops only nodded, not having the strength to speak. Something in his tone of voice told her the words he spoke were true. She was home now. ~Lapin
