And so it had begun, the sky broke open to release its downpour onto the land, first falling slowly, then quickly rising to pound the earth. The fresh smell of damp filling the air, faint tint of blood from where it steamed on the wolf's coat. Showing off the thinness of the creature more sharply, bones jutting from a ragged and now water dark pelt. With a tilt of the head, he glanced up at the sky, a flash of white light from above catching on one eye of green, the other grey white and dull with uselessness.
The wolf's tail flicked faintly, pawing the ground with a faint prickle of thrill coursing though his frame. A deep breath of humid air, then a howl, the chilling high note lingering with the growl of thunder.
This was where he was alive, in the heart of the storm, beating with wildness and power. Allowing it to fill him up, the charge electric and sparking, as though he were a beast of the weather itself.
