Biography
A daughter of two ancient ones named Odin and Renite. She is the last wolf who can truly be called royalty. Disease killed her parents, much like Opposite Night's pack, and other predators and evil wolves including Falcon's one time mate assaulted the strongholds, pillaging and murdering all they came upon. Her only sister Enzenea was taken captive by these evil wolves and never seen again. Over the years Root went into hiding and learned the mountains well, gradually the evil wolves either died of disease or migrated south. She knew she had a duty to her ancestors to rebuild the Kingdom of Living and searched for a noble mate outside her Kingdom. She came upon Rusty Fur and found love but abandoned him to return home. She gave birth to two sons and a daughter. The youngest son died shortly after birth. Later when her eldest son, First Flames of the Sun, was a year and a half old, he left, desiring adventure. Root did not stop him. Her daughter was what mattered. She was beautiful beyond compare and had the keenest eyes of her pups. When Opposite Night and Falcon of the Dawn came she welcomed them, seeing their strength, and hoping that they would have a son for her daughter to populate the kingdom with. However they had a daughter, Awakening Mist upon Grass, and Root of the Mountain lost hope. When Opposite Night discovered Storm Father she was overjoyed, seeing the power that lay within him and his handsome coat and body. She was even more pleased upon discovering his parents were the youngest ancient ones. His father, Golden Warrior in particular. She had wanted to be his mate when she was young and grew up in the den next to him. Root of the Mountain loved all her new clan mates and was content to share power with Night and Falcon until her daughter and Storm Father became Alphas. She noted the relationship Mist had with Storm but thought nothing of it. She was enraged when Falcon betrayed Opposite Night with an evil wolf who had helped destroy her kingdom but did not force her away fearing conflict would destroy the pack. Like Opposite Night who took the role of grandfather of the pups, she was the grandmother. She taught them about the mountain and took them on adventures as soon as they they could see and walk. When Ruler of Skies came forward she was overjoyed that the royal line had survived. She however was torn between her duty to Ruler of Skies and her daughter. She did not know who was to be Alpha. She was content with Ruler's unspoken position, equal to her daughter's. She felt no loss when Falcon left, only the loss of a skilled hunter, much like her daughter's view.

| Personality
She is wise, all should listen to her advice. Her mind is very mature due to years of solitude and she often walks alone. She is used to that. The only wolf she is completely comfortable around is her daughter. She is also very cautious and would rather fly than fight if she can. She like Opposite Night values trust. Once it is broken she never forgives or forgets it.
Preferences
Root of the Mountain prefers hunting during the day due to horrible memories of enemies coming in the night. Her keen eyes, even good at night, she doesn't trust to guide her perfectly. She considers it wise to hunt during the day when predators and cliffs cannot take her unawares. She also prefers rabbit, it is one of the only things she could catch as a pup because she was alone. She believes that a combination of offensive and defensive fighting is best. She also is not totally against outsiders but is cautious about those who seek harm or whose eyes are filled with greed.
Special Skills
Her eyes are her true talent. They have kept her safe from harm. She has spotted coming danger miles away and flees before they can even catch her scent and has spotted snakes and other poisonous creatures before they can take her life. Hidden holes and cracking ice aren't even a problem for her to spot.
