Biography
"Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" was the series finale of the television show M*A*S*H. In the episode, B.J. and Hawkeye find themselves parting ways as the Korean war has ended and they are being sent home.
Hawkeye, however, is insistent that no goodbyes should be given between the two as they will see each other again in the states. At the end of the episode, when Hawkeye is leaving, he finally says goodbye to B.J., still convinced that they will see each other one again. These are the final lines of dialogue.
B.J.: I'll see you back in the States, I promise. But just in case, I left you a note.
Hawkeye: What?
Below the helicopter Hawkeye is seated in, stones are arranged on the ground to spell out "GOODBYE".
