Slekya was one of the first two wolves to join Ruffer and Mennen. She had been a young, small thing lost in the snows with no idea of what to do next. Seeing Ruffer and Mennen standing above her then they had seemed as large as the sky, and as strong as the mountains.
She never regretted a single day she spent following after them. For many long years she did their bidding and watched their children for them, and in time she had children of her own. She'd lead a good life. |
